Samsung galaxy S23 and S23 ultra

ah well you see the phone for me, galaxy watch 5 pro can easily do 2 days or more! but I charge every evening so for me it's a non-issue. (probably more important if it's the 5 non-pro?)

I don't have my bud2 pros yet, due tomorrow!

I have the Watch 4 Classic and Buds Pro (not the 2).

I mention in my post above... I use stacks widget feature, that way I can use multiple widgets to avoid taking up too much space. So, I'll be able to swipe to get a quick glance of my battery status.

right but there are three main components to capturing a fast moving subject

1. when I click the shutter button it has to take the photo NOW! not in 1 second
2. the shutter speed has to be as fast or faster than the speed the subject is moving, or it'll be motion blurred
3. keeping the subject in focus

so REALLY in my mind at least ;-), it's a combination of quick tap + fast capture speed (fast shutter) + focus tracking which would be optimal for fast moving subjects.

In theory, Samsung (and everyone else) would track the subject, work out it's moving quickly and set all those things automagically

Ive not really used the stack feature yet! but Im getting there 🙂

In an ideal world none of this should be needed but Samsung know this issue exists hense why they have created this app and seem to be improving it quite often

I'm just glad there are options to remove any delay even though I want it gone completely with no app needed. The fact the app is baked into the camera settings certainly says something

yeah absolutely brilliant 🙂 camera assistant gives me SO much more control..... ok I can argue it should be there automagically for other people but personally, I'm very happy with all the options!

Sure if I download 4 hours of TV and Wifi Cast/Stream to my TV I can make a dent or use it as a mobile hotspot for 6 hours when I get a power cut, but these are not normal dailies.

I can only assume your doing an awful lot of 5G streaming or gaming on the big screen to get such poor results over most other users IMO and is not representative for most but is specific to you 🙂

You raise a good point, my high Fold4 battery usage is likely due to using intensive video and camera editing apps on 5G or WiFi like Adobe Premiere Rush, Lightroom etc. amomgst others, multi-tasking & business work like Excel, YouTube streaming, some online gaming only if I get any down time! All use on the Fold4 main display at 120Hz with S-pen.

So I'm certainly not the typical user, likely a few power users on here! For the majority, most people should be fine to last a full day from 100% battery, especially mixing up using front screen with the main screen.

I would say the Fold4 battery life is sub-par compared to any later iPhone in my specific usage case. Likely due to the optimisation of iOS apps.

The Fold5 will hopefully eliminate any battery issues for demanding users with the more efficient Snapdragon Gen 2 chipset.

As others have mentioned battery life is a non-issue - it's something not to worry or think about with the Ultra.

Did you by any chance have s22 ultra Snapdragon version prior to 23 ultra? That's what I have and was curious if 23 ultra is significantly better in battery life area.

You forgot burst mode that as I have shown even on my Fold 4 is shooting at 2.5x faster shutter speed and at 3x FPS over my IP14P

If you was using a DSLR you would use this along with panning with your fast moving subject 🙂

or

The other old fashion way and use a fast flash to freeze the action LOL

Trouble is everyone is relying on computational analysis to replace simple and basic good photography practices 🙂 and then complain the AI got it wrong LOL

One of the main things that separated pro's from armatures of old was they always used 10's of rolls of film and picked the best one out of 100's, We can all follow this now and not expect to get just 1 perfect picture with just 1 click 🙂

Candid shots have always been lucky 😀

I’ll be honest, over the years, I’ve been quick to bash One UI for its heaviness and lack of smoothness. One UI 5 + Android 13 seems to have changed the latter. I’m also getting to appreciate the features and functionality that One UI offers that others just don’t! After having issues with most Pixels and being tired of the iPhone at the moment, Samsung is worth another try. I’ve been tinkering with the Tab S8 for a few days and I’ve been really enjoying it. I know the S23 Ultra will be the icing on the cake. Wednesday can’t come fast enough.

lol you ran out of energy before the phone did? Actually 4 and half hours looking at any one thing is a big chunk out of a day when you think about it.

I really wore through the batteries on my iPhone and my Samsung last week but I was flat out sick. I thought I was recovered, but last night was a bad night like I rebounded back to being sick again so I don’t know. There’s only so much YouTube and web surfing even I can stand.

I’m on my iPhone 11 on Wi-Fi right now. Waiting for FedEx in my pajamas. 🤣
