I still think the 12 inch display will be for a Macbook Air Retina

I hope so, I don't see the appeal in a larger tablet. I do hope Apple is just trolling and I really hope the iWatch and iPad Pro are just part of it.

Preemptive damage control.

I don't think anyone doubts that Samsung would almost definitely have not released this, were it not for the iPad Pro rumors.

Given the silly watch that Samsung released (confidently believing that Apple would be releasing one) I get the idea that Apple may be intentionally baiting Samsung with lots of ideas. Something infrequently mentioned is that failed products cost Samsung. Apple has a habit of releasing only a few products and they all NEED to be successful. Samsung tries to make everything...

I'm also starting to think that MacRumors' coverage of Samsung might relate to the owner being a proud Korean? ;) Samsung always seems to be the brand mentioned (far more than Chinese brands...etc)

am i the only one who doesn't see why one would need a bigger screen? the regular iPad is more than enough for most apps, unless it was able to multitask i don't see the purpose.

It can run 4 apps at the same time. Why would you want to do that?

Well for PRO users, you can have your video conference call on while you have your email up and running while your able to see the power point presentation while your looking up relevant information on the Web. All one the go in a much easier way to carry your device.

I'm sure that the iPad 12in will be amazing as well. There is a market for this type of size.

I can't wait to get the Note Pro and will be looking forward to see if/when Apple releases one as well.

lol... so pathetic.

But I do love Samsung TVs and they are the only Samsung product I own lol.

Wish I could say the same. Our Samsung TV is about 3 years old now and while it's a decent TV it executes random commands as if the remote was sending signals (it's not, have had several universal ones over the years, same behaviour), which means the TV ends up being on in the middle of the night or while we watch a popup "command cannot be executed now" blends in... pretty annoying.

Either way, 12.2 inch is pretty big..., but I can see business cases where size does matter.

Can't wait

I just can't wait until all the other parents at my kids' orchestra recital are holding up those things in front of me to videotape their little Timmy's performance. </s>

If they release a "Pro" version of the iPad, I wish they would include a stylus with Wacom like response and detail. I tried to use a Stylus on my iPad Air and it was pretty much useless for note-taking anything longer than a few words.

If they made an iPad Pro like a portable self contained Wacom Cintiq, the creative pro crowd would eat them up and happily pay twice as much as an iPad Air.

Wtf is Samsung doing. They took a decent niche product in the original note 10.1 and butchered it. They've made changes that just seem like they threw fuzzy nerf balls onto a velcro wall and what ever stuck was implemented.

I hope Apple does something with the extra space and it's not just a blown up iphone/ipad.

We should spread the rumor that Apple is planing on releasing a diamond-encrusted iPhone and hope that Samsung actually builds it and goes bankrupt. :D

They will just create fake diamond...

You beat me to it - I was going to say exactly the same thing. Also, students and engineers etc. could finally replace their 3 ring binders or notebooks and fit everything on that one device. I'd be so all over that!

I agree. Just releasing a larger version of the regular iPad wouldn't justify any title like "iPad Pro", that would be extremely lame.

Look at it this way. That will be one nice screen on which to watch the performance.

I'm starting to wonder if Apple is doing this (watch, 12" tablet) on purpose so they can let Samsung make the mistakes first and avoid them. That'd be pretty funny.

Can't even front, this is exactly what I want the iPad Pro to be in terms of multitasking and workflow. For me, my Mac has become my school and music production workstation, my iPad my consumption device, and my iPhone my communication device. If I can get more school workstation provision in my iPad, that would be too perfect.

Apple...I'm patiently waiting. I know you've got something in the pipeline that'll keep me from Samsung...

Samsung's strategy in mobile electronics can be summed up in three ways:

1) Try and see what Apple has in the pipeline and get it out before they do

2) Introduce 50 different size variations of basically the same thing and see which sticks

3) Develop gimmicky software features to distinguish products from the other me-too products in the market

Exactly this!
