Whether you want to continue to correspond or not I don't give a ****. Samsung is two faced and you are being pedantic. They are two faced because 1) they mocked Apple and then did exactly what they mocked and 2) they throw hardware in and out without regard to how their user base feels about it. At least apple sticks to their guns.

You mean like blah, blah, blah, which is what I interpreted...:p
That's not how we all interpret you. If you want an advice relax, these are just companies using our money. None is better than other. Especially not Apple lol.

Apple is two faced too. They mocked big screens and they released a 6.5 inch device. They did exactly what they made fun of.

1) On one low range model that was released for the Chinese market! They have kept the headphone socket on every other line of Samsung phones - which is a lot.
2) Like Apple with TouchID, 3D Touch

I have to say that when Apple removed the headphone jack I though it was the dumbest think they've done since the removed the floppy drive.. I mean the optical dive.. I mean the VGA port. I mean the DVI port. I mean the touch-ID. Every time Apple does something like this a year latter I think it was okay. They know me better than I know me.

So what's the superior successor to the headphone jack seeing how we all know bluetooth isn't it?

Amazing. Let me plug into the lightning port of my Apogee AI.
what's the consumers of the Samsung a8s to use?

You're right. Steve Jobs made a huge blunder, got some right and got some wrong and he got this wrong big time. However, Tim Cook recognized what Jobs didn't and that was Apple's biggest quarter ever.

Apple in the last couple of years, hasn't mocked the competition in a do as I say and not as I do way.

Any other Samsung or the USB-C port.
You're comparing the only phone Samsung released, not even worldwide without the headphone jack, to a mass produced phone since the 7 without it. None's going to take you seriously.

Then Samsung was right all along with the big screens. Always heard backlash about them, from Apple fans. ;)

Seriously, who takes who seriously (I don't view this site as a popularity contest)? There's a huge divide here, with posters trying to prove each other wrong rather than have a conversation about a common topic. It's not even my article, lol, it's a MacRumors article and was written deservedly so. I happen to agree with the sentiment of the thread title.

Never had complaints about my arguments, you can check each other's quotes from others and user feedback. Also love how when you have no backup points you turn into attacks and run from the question.

Nothing like moving the goalposts lol. Common internet debating topic. Which phone did Apple mention in that youtube video?

Unfortunately you missed the point, MacRumors wrote an article, deservedly so. It's their article. I love the way you respond to some hypothetical post. Unfortunately Samsung copied the idea of a bigger bezeless phone from Sharp; I believe.

Now we are taking about Sharp? You are incredible. You run away from the subject when shown facts. I'm speechless. Really.
Who did Apple copy the same idea then? From Sharp too? Nah. They "invented it ;)

I'm not here for the popularity, I'm here to state my views on the various news articles in the MacRumors news threads. Your posts were reported but the mods decided there is some leeway in what constitutes an ad-hom.

The history of who invented what in the smartphone world is interested. You should read up on it, so you can really see who copied who. I'm really lost for words here.

When you have no backup facts, you turn to reports. We all know how you work here. Nobody is here for popularity I don't even get where you got that one. Of course you are lost for words, the more you say, the more your arguments get thrown down.
Listen you are free to give you opinion, the problem is that other users have their own opinions as well and most of the times they have facts to back up their claims, unlike you which from these two pages that I'm sure will be deleted for off topic, are only trying to come up with excuses like "Samsung did they, Samsung they did, Samsung did too, where you plug your Samsung" it's like a religion debate. In the end of the day if you act defensive against Apple and aggressive towards other users when they criticize Apple's decisions, get prepared to get other users opinions.

Excuse me while I check what thread we're in. Oh year, we're discussing how Samsung mocked Apple and then turned around and then did the same thing they mocked apple for. That's what this thread is about. That is the 50,000 lb gorilla in this room. (and just to be clear apple has done their share of stuff as well)

You're free to give your opinion as well, some things I agree with you on, some things I don't. And it's clear we all know the way we all work. And frankly none of us should care how anybody views us on an online anonymous internet forum.
[doublepost=1552186379][/doublepost]
Half the world doesn't and can't use it. I'm sure you knew that. Not sure why you'd suggest that... unless you were trolling?
We'll without a headphone jack, if you have an iphone you can use the lighting port. If you have the a8s you have to use a bluetooth headset.

I hope you don't care because I don't. I don't even know where you are getting that from, but you are free to do so... The point is that you say Samsung copies X feature and then I will show you how Apple copied X feature from Samsung. That's how it is. Now from those features who is really making the best product for your money? That's up to you to decide. In my opinion Samsung is setting the bar with innovation, be it Hardware,Screen, design,Usability and even Software. Apple is stuck with their name in hopes that the back Apple logo gives them profit. Every latest feature or hardware addition to the iPhone came from Android. Ex: live photos, big screen, OLED, smart AI camera roll, depth effect, stereo speaker, wireless earpods... I can go on but you get the point.

You seem like you have never used anything else than an Apple product. It makes you sound biased and it's true. If you expand your horizons you will find that there are many great products out there without the Apple logo. I myself I'm using an iPhone X (returned my 256GB XS Max) along with an S8 at the moment, and I can see through both devices and each one as their pros and cons. Does the Samsung lose to anything compared to the iPhone? Nope. Even the screen is better, and I can actually calibrate it the way I want. Unlike my X which has an horrible yellowish tone, a little better in the eyes compared to my 7 Plus which fatigues my eyes with blue shift.

I used my sons Moto but I just didn’t like it compared to the iPhones of the era. Yeah I’m biased but at least I admit it, and with admitting it it can lead to more objectivity.

But great exchanges. The only thing I disagree with is most of android game from prior art. Oled, Eastman Kodak 1989. Finger print readers, wireless charging, water proofing, Bluetooth, WiFi, sd card readers all prior art. Other than the Samsung ultrasonic reader I don’t think anything else is android specific.

You can't be objective if you are biased.
The point is that those features you listed especially the OLED display, SD card support, wireless charging were and are core features from Android which were highly criticized by Apple users now loved and praised by the same. It's been always like this.

You are right in that it is a trait of apple apologists to always eat their own words. I have always wonder why that is so.

Believing you're objective is a fallacy. Nobody is able to rid themselves of their biases, they just won’t admit it; I personally would rather admit than lie about the fact I’m really biased but pretend not to be. The features I listed were all prior art was the point. Yes android licensed and copied some of the the prior art first.

And rectangle is not prior art...hmmmmm

The longer an analog signal travels the more noise potentially that can be picked up. The closer the speak to the DAC is better as there is less chance of noise being picked up. Of course noise can affect a digital signal and if overpowering sounds like drop-outs.

Yeah, if you're talking about reasonably bigger distances, or particularly lossy/noisy circuitry, etc.

But, in this case, the internal DAC was actually better than the one they embed in the Lightning to 3.5mm dongle, so the quality is actually worse.

Of course, you can get a really good external DAC and headphone amp and plug it into the Lightning port... just like you could have before they removed the 3.5mm jack.

Lightning port, no?

Yeah, let me know when more than 1% of the audio industry switches to Lightning or any other kind of jack. Then we'll talk. Sorry, but the Lightning port isn't even in the running. It's an Apple replacement/substitution/compromise not some new kind of audio standard.

Hardware that android licensed that was prior art was the conversation. Not design elements that spent their life in court.

As far as the DAC placement, okay we agree. As far as the audio industry don't know. There are some hundreds of millions (estimated) without a headphone jack since the iphone 7. The iphone 7 and after and now the galaxy fold and a8s users have to decide how to listen to audio.

Well, they are either using various adapters (Lightning to 3.5mm, or USB to 3.5mm) or Bluetooth. Bluetooth is convenient, but has lots of other issues, besides being expensive.

I guess my point is that for audio (in this case, to headphones), I just don't see any compelling new standard that is going to sway the industry.

Apple didn't remove the 3.5mm jack because it wasn't being used that much any more. They didn't remove it because there was something better. They removed it because they wanted the space, and I suppose to try and push people towards BT... and then tried to 'market' it with silly baloney about 'legacy port' and such, which is this case, was total BS.

Apple pushing people toward BT could have backfired in two ways. People leave Apple because they are annoyed there is no headphone jack and 2) people buy non-apple B/T products. That is what I did until I recently got airpods. Either way if you are a high-end audio type of person, jackless phones may not be for you.
