And this is why I gave up on Android after my 3 month "test drive" with a Galaxy S4. I was pissed off at Apple for the lightning connector and the laughably small screen of the iPhone5, so I bought the Samsung that year. The hardware on the S4 was very good - battery life was no problem and you can tone down the cartoonish screen colors. But you can never install a launcher with all the features you want. The default launcher had badges, which I really appreciate on the iOS, but not for all apps, and certainly not for all 3 email apps that came with the phone. Other launchers supported folders but not badges. Honestly, I don't remember all the details now - only the frustration of not getting all the features I wanted in the same launcher. Oh, the time I wasted installing launchers. Ultimately, I wanted that phone, but running iOS.
P.S. - Efficiently actioning things? Give me a break! Maybe at one time, but pretty much everything on iOS is actionable from the Notification Manager now.
You're comparing an android experience from almost 3 years ago to now? Not a fair comparison. Nova launcher now features badges. I'm not talking about actionable notifications either I'm talking about navigating on the phone and seeing important info. Things like have a back arrow on the bottom of the phone, being able to place icons just on the bottom of your pages saving time from not have to double tap to reach the icon of an app you want open. I also find the two tab notification pull down on iOS inefficient. One of the most annoying things was half the time it wouldn't show current temperature but would tell me if it was cloudy or windy? That's inefficient to me. A lot of these were not a big deal before the iPhone got to 4.7" and larger because almost anyone could reach on a 3.5 inch screen.
I've been an iPhone user from the original up to the 5 and then the 6 for like 6 months so I'm certainly not biased towards Android if anything I'd rather be an iPhone user since I still own a mac and like a lot of things about the iPhone. iMessage is by far the best messaging app but I'll take androids more efficient UI and more pleasing looking springboard with customization until iOS catches up which they could do easily but probably won't.
