This is why Samsung sucks, and not because all their appliances fail in 2 years. But WHY? Why have a credit card? It doesn't play to their strengths, and judging by everything Samsung does good luck with service/support. It's a waste of money, energy and effort. But they are so preoccupied with Apple that are like a zombie following a 1st grader.

Well I dunno, but I think they considered the classic US market, where a newer credit card covers the maxed out one.

Who shops at Best Buy?

Hopefully this will urge Timbo to press the button on releasing Apple Card here in the U.K. or at the very least Apple Pay Cash

A fun fact is that Samsung has more software programmers than Apple and Google combined :D

lol 1% cash back? wow
It is a very good rate here in the U.K.
Almost no free card offers so much.

That being said Apple Card doesn’t even exist in the U.K., so the Samsung option is not really a competitor. Apple will be the competing service when and if it releases a card here.

I dont think so, they still have to be your cards anyways. If you are suggesting putting all of your employees cards on your phone so you can split it 10 ways..... then I hope they trust you as much as you've been trusting Apple lately :p

We have personally issued cards with the business name. So every employee with a card has a their name and the business on the card. We don't discourage (responsible) drinking, but we just ask that people pay for that expense themselves.

Alcohol is a huge part of the culture here to the point where most breweries ans distilleries are some of the more popular restaurants. They also serve custom made soft drinks and juices in beer and wine glasses so that those who choose not to drink won't feel excluded. This, however, can get confusing for both employees and wait staff.

The culture here becomes an issue for some people who forget to break the receipt correctly at time of payment. Once they leave there is a bunch of extra paperwork to fix it. But if they could fix it later when they notice - that would be great.

To be fair, I've had a Samsung branded credit card for a few years... now they are just making it more confusing

Then you probably live somewhere in Asia. Cause I know Samsung is HUGE and is also into finance and so on. But why Samsung Electronics needs to launch a credit card, just to copy Apple for the 23184th time baffles me. They are not even trying to hide their s##t.

Nothing like the Apple Card.

It's just a re-branded Curve account, which is available in the U.S. and UK already. Lot of other countries as well.
Also, you cannot get a Samsung Pay card if you already have an existing Curve account.

Live the fact some are laughing because they think Samsung are copying Apple yet don’t realise the Apple Card isn’t even available in the UK. Samsung have in fact beaten them to the market and the UK is Apples biggest European market for consumer sales. It really makes you question why they have released it in other European countries and not here? Oh well lol.

Unless I'm misinterpreting the article this is not an Apple Card competitor, it isn't even a real credit card. It's a card that links your existing cards and the purchase is charged to those cards. It's like using Apple Wallet except you don't have to pick a card to use and can change which card the charge is applied to after the transaction. I didn't look into it too far, am I wrong?

Hi The-Real-Deal82, what have they released in other European countries and not here?

Samsung, like Sony, is a checklist-engineering type of company. They don't care how well something works, but only care that they can advertise about it.

such an ignorant statement; Sony were innovating before Apple existed; much of the technology used in an iPhone was developed and innovated by Sony (with Ericsson)..and Samsung amongst many others.
