I can only imagine what Samsung is stealing as they incorporate their AI top of Android. I'm sure it's very smart as it will read everything on your phone. The good thin is Korea will never investigate Samsung since it's basically an extension of the Korean govt.

Just when I didn’t think they could copy any more… I read “Samsung Care +”

Really??

The only thing I wish for is some of androids photo editing tricks like smart erase and that thing to pick the best version of faces. That’s cool.

Really surprised they didn’t straight up call it “Samsung Cares MORE”

I will he honest, the AI live call translation was very kewl

Since Feedback is a black hole, seems like a good place to put this:

Apple doesn’t seem to be able to get regular translation working in their own Translate app.

At the Snapdragon level, all the AI stuff is called the same way, right? Or, is each vendor building their own AI stack?

I don't even think the Samsung's have those features... Aren't those a Google pixel thing?

Get ready for an AI heavy WWDC folks. AI is all the rage this year... AI , AI , AI, AI

oooooh look , Samsung copied apple.... omg that phones amazing... I seriously don't understand why Samsung users even bother... just get an iPhone , Apple is the only company phone wise who is leading technical innovations, Apple do RT , Samsung RT , Apple Make Vision Plus , Samsung will make Samsung plus.. its just such BS

I'm just one of the only people who doesn't care about the AI aspect of photos because I don't want pictures of things that didn't happen/aren't real. i.e. Editing the skateboarder to jump higher than he did in the picture....but in reality it never actually happened.....just going to keep making it harder and harder to figure out what is fake going forward.

Why is this ugly thing on MacRumors? is Android Rumors not busy enough? I'm guessing Samsung cut a check. What does a Samsung phone have to do with a Mac and/or Apple related products?
Relax... It's here because this is Apple's direct competitor on their most popular product. There are a lot of Android phone users on this forum who are here because they use macs and other apple products. Don't like it then just scroll past the article... It's one little tiny article. not that serious.

I guess I’m the only that thinks this direction could mean the end of Apple as we know it within a couple of years.

I don’t think people realize the absolute inevitability that within a couple of years the better phone will be the one with the better capable AI.
A good AI vs an “average” AI is an exponential difference, it would be like choosing the black and white phone vs the one with the color screen.

For AI to work really well you need data, and Apple to me appears as it’s lagging a lot on the matter. It’s astounding how impossibly stupid my Siri assistant is vs ANY of the free versions of AI.

If Apple really is this behind in AI…I mean, there’s virtually nothing else that will meaningfully differentiate products.

This is coming from someone that would prefer to still pay for iPhone / iOS rather than having android for free.

There's been a lot of rumors that iOS 18 being announced in June will be very AI heavy with a completely revamped siri. I think Apple is on top of this and will catch up quickly in their next OS.

The S24 Ultra is a great phone. I'd love to see Apple implement split screen multitasking, would love a compact stylus like the S-Pen, if even for the occasional signing documents, but also with many of the features the S-Pen has. I just think Samsung does a much better job utilizing the large display and CPU/GPU vs the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Love my 15PM but it feels functionally the same as my 7 Plus I had nearly 8 years ago. iOS has tiptoed along while Android seems to have made giant strides.

I can’t appreciate or support a company that sells 3 different processors with 3 different performances and struggles to deliver timely software updates, and when it does, it’s limited to only one model.

PS: Avoid buying any product that has AI next to its name.
Are you referring to Samsung or Apple? It seems like both companies have been doing these things. 🤔😆

Unless Apple has been doing something AI focused very, very secretly for years that nobody has heard of, there's not a chance in the world the "new AI Siri" will be even remotely comparable to what will be available in competing products.

For a good AI you need:
1) Tons of user Data.
2) Years of development.
3) The best R&D.

We do know that the leading scientists in the world work for competitors, but let's assume they still have a top level AI R&D team. We do not know if they've been working at it for years with the same effort that we do know it competitors have done, but let's assume yes.
What we do know is that:
1) Apple's focus on privacy is exactly what makes it impossible for them, today, to use the data you need.
2) The most likely scenario is that Apple is also 1-2 years minimum behind, and not with the top minds.

Unless there's something big that was kept secret, if Siri looks dumb today in respect to its "a bit less dumb" competitors, in 2-3 years time it will be like comparing a monkey to a top level team of personal assistants.
