It's funny no one likes these ads. I think they're not that different from the Mac vs. PC ads..

the mac vs pc ads targetted and made fun of pcs in general. these samsung ads target the people that use iphones

I think your point of view is biased. The mac vs pc made fun of windows users. It would be like samsung presenting an old lady using his iphone, not being able to explain a single thing about it but saying that it's better than that yellow-people-phone she has not ever seen.

There is nothing wrong with old ladies, as there was nothing wrong with middle aged men with ridiculous clothes and glasses, you know...

In fact I'm surprised they have not used the old-people-phone thing, which is quite popular between android users. This demonstrates that they, at least, are more elegant than apple was, believe it or not.

Samsung is hurting. But not because of Apple or people wanting small screens. They're getting hurt by new players like Xiaomi who are undercutting Samsung. The fact is that the big screen market is growing faster than the iPhone market is. The one thing that Apple has that Samsung doesn't is iOS. But the Android smartphone market is no longer just Samsung.

I never said who is hurting Samsung or why they're hurting. I was simply pointing out to that guy that their strategy (which again is NOT "get market share and forget profits" )is failing.

when you see dumb ads like this you begin to figure out why. They make fun of Apple users for years then wonder out loud in a commercial how come Apple users haven't switched to Samsung.

Apple has nothing to do with Samsung's decline. Samsung has done this to themselves.

What do you guys want Samsung to do? Roll over and die without giving Apple a fight? I think it's great that we have competition. The dirtier the ads the better I say. We are on the eve of an all out battle this fall and I can't wait to see how the entire Android platform reacts.
I have a Note 3 and love it. But Apple is going to steal many Android users away with a larger iPhone. I'm very interested in how Android as a whole will fight back. I wouldn't be surprised to see free on contract newer Android phones with included smart watches to entice customers. Or better phones at cheaper no contract pricing. Bring it on!!!

I think it's neither. The Android smartphone market is a race to the bottom. There's very little differentiation anymore now that they all use the same screen sizes, OS, and chipsets. Samsung being the leader is affected the most and can't really stop it. Apple is also affected somewhat but with their higher profits per phone and iOS, they can stay above the fray.

Why don't they have a texting race between both units using ONE hand.
You know, how people actually use their phones.

You mean how Apple told you how to use your phone... Plenty of people around with large phones and using two hands, it seems to work for them just fine.

There different choices out there for certain tastes.

Spoken like a true fanboi. You should consider how well a tool works for your need instead of blindly following a brand. I guess :apple: doesn't need to innovate so long as people are willing to blindly buy their products because of the :apple: logo.

I have long used an android phone, not because it's better than iOS (it isn't). But because it suits my needs very well. I find the iPhone lacking in too many areas for my needs. When :apple: makes an iPhone that has all the features I look for, then they get my $$$.

This goes to show how quick people will blindly jump to conclusions.
I suggested I'd pay for any Apple product before I would a Samsung product. I said nothing of Android.
You have no clue my opinion on manufacturers like HTC and LG. I like those guys. I nearly got an LG G Flex, but I ultimately chose the 5S.
As you said, none of the Android devices out there suit my needs as well as the iPhone does.

Yeah, galaxy has great features that most of them not usefull but how about OS? Ahhhhh it sucks right
Apple rocks

But you're admitting that while you don't want those things, you do in fact want a bigger display? Android and TouchWiz really aren't so bad once you give them a chance.

Yep, I do want a bigger display. I'm just not sacrificing leaving iOS.... until the 6 comes out.

I have a 4s and do not want a bigger screen...

I do have a 4s too but I definitely want a bigger screen.frankly what was shown in this ad is a true life daily experience for me.
Well..maybe not if you only use the phone to make calls and to send sms..in that case a traditional non smart phone would be the best option..

yeah, cuz all you android users love how i delicately place my finger over my phone's home button, and it unlocks.

Samsung is so stupid

Samsung Mobile Phone Sales are dropping , and they made a foolish mistake of themselves diluting (Galaxy series) the brand they built against iPhone.

Also sumsung had virtually no Tablet sales, now there distributors have access inventory which they built in Anticipation of competing with Apple. The Fake Race is slowing down now and Samsung knows it that with android they are no match for Apple.

Google is still trying to solve the problem of lag, integration and backup issues. Plus dozen's of apps that don't work correctly on all Android phones.

Samsung should be posting a low sales target this quarter, hence such low end Advertisements. This is like a fox making fun of elephant, at the end of the day a Elephant doesn't shout just a small blow and fox is rendered unconscious worse dead.

Whew boy I tell ya that there Samsung ad just burns me up!

Though life just wouldn't be as interesting if Apple didn't have any competition.

Can someone explain these to me? If I use apple products and are generally happy, maybe not a fanboy, but like what it does, works, no issues...why would I consider a company that pretty much mocks me for that choice?

My guess is that these aren't to generate business, but to keep unhappy Samsung users from leaving.

Wait did they just attack a phone THAT DOESNT ****ING EXIST?

Yeah doesn't sound like the best marketing.

I think it's also playing on a tendency for millennials and "cool" people to be highly gullible and impressionable due to their own self consciousness about their image. Samsung can not only insult these same people BUT convince them to but from the same people who told them they were uncool. What a stab in the back huh?

They're different in that Samsung sells more phones than Apple does which makes them the market leader which makes them look sort of like a bully.

In computers, Apple is the underdog, so the Mac/PC ads felt appropriate. But the big player in a given market taking shots at competition just seems petty and weird.

And in case you think I'm playing favorites with Apple, I'll point out that it doesn't seem weird or petty when Amazon does it.
