You know, a Samsung product was given to me a few months back. I use it for… Reading… when my Nook is dead? So like, never?

I don’t care how nice your screen is, Samsung. Fix the trash you call a user interface.

I do love how people bash these Samsung ads for mentioning Apple and iPhone. Have they forgotten that Apple essentially did the exact same thing with the "I'm a PC and I'm a Mac" ads. Samsung has just jumped on that idea.

The Band-Aid back of the galaxy phone... looks funny every time I see it.

Firs of all I'm not an Apple fanboy. I bought an Nexus S to my wife and Nokia 630 to my parents.

Without going into that I have a master degree in IT, that I'm working with IT and etc etc I'm going straight to my point which is:

These Samsung adds are made by kids for kids. These adds are only made to enhance the hate towards Apple, especially iPhone.

Just to think that a phone is better because it has a larger screen is pathetic. Yes, maybe it's more suitable for your needs but it's not better. I know a lot of people that thinks exactly like this but these people doesn't know anything about phones (no offense just fact). They simply are buying Galaxy phones because they think it's better due to the larger screen. And believe me when I'm saying that they are regretting it after a while - but that's another story.

So these adds are doing two things:
1. If you hate Apple you will hate it more after watching these adds
2. If you love Apple or are just a normal person you will laugh at these adds

Me personally are almost crying because I know that a lot of people are falling for this and actually it creates a feeling that iPhone users are stupid.

Another thing I realized with these Samsung anti-Apple ads is that they try to make iPhone users look bad and stupid. Let's assume that they convince me that I really shouldn't have an iPhone, when I am trying to replace my iPhone I am not completely thrilled with Samsung (they made me feel bad) and would rather pick up an HTC, LG, or a Moto.

Why would I choose to go with Samsung, who I associate negative feelings with?

Considering that the majority of the premium customer base is iPhone users, this may be Samsung shooting themselves in the foot.

(And if you want to relate it to the Mac vs PC ads, people leaving MS had no realistic alternative to Apple, since Linux was largely a non-factor. OTOH, outside of the iPhone, I can find many phones as good, if not better, than Samsung phones, and often for cheaper).

Amen, and I’d like to emphasis that even when it comes to the hardware design and feel of the phone, the Galaxy line just doesn’t feel premium to me. Insulting my intelligence + terrible user interface + non-premium design at premium prices = I’d buy an HTC or an LG.

Had to increase the accuracy of your quote. How does that jibe with the criticism that people with phablets look stupid on the phone? Would that be almost double stupid?

no it was pretty accurate ... you can do it right now.

I agree with you though, i would never hold an iPad (air or mini) up to my ear to make a call. I think anything between 3.5" - 5" is a good size for a phone screen.

Barring maybe 1 Mac vs. PC ad, they didn't attack the users. They attacked personifications of the products. But more importantly, they tried to be funny. When they were, they worked, but when they weren't they were absolutely groan-worthy.

Samsung's ad attacks the users it wants to buy its products (something which worked a few years ago when anti-Apple folks were desperately looking for a reason to justify their purchases, when Android was terrible, but doesn't work as well today, because Android is good, if not, IMO as good as iOS, iPhone and the retail and app ecosystem Apple has).

Even worse, Samsung ads don't even try to be funny, and just go straight for smug, which is what the Mac vs. PC ads were at their worst.

Full Disclosure: I hated the Mac vs PC ads.

What user did they attack? They only pointed out a bigger screen was already available in a the Samsung product. Not much different then Apple pointing out a computer without viruses was available in an Apple product.

I'm not a fan of Android, Samsung or those phablets but when I see how bright and vibrant the colors are on my friends phones I wonder why isnt my iphone just as bright and vibrant.

Samsung might be overdoing it. Each iPhone bash ad is less and less effective. It is particularly ineffective if you've already used a Galaxy and don't like it.

Me having iPhone 5s
Samesung told me to buy big screen
Me cant wait iPhone 6

So basically this Ads is for iPhone 6

Urgh Samsung. You're like a screaming child in a store.

BUYYYY MEEEEEEEEE! IMMM BEEETTTERRR THANNN APPLLEE IPHOOONNEEE WAAWHHHWAWAHWAHWAH

you are right they are brighter and more vibrant, but the iPhone's screen is more accurate with their colors.

I for sure have screen envy. I thought for a moment last year to get the Galazy Note III over the iPhone 5s. I will take a 4.7" iPhone, but I really want that 5.5" one. Not saying either phone will even come to be of course. :)

Samsung: My C##K is bigger than yours!

Samsung are the only ones obsessed with a few centimetres here and there, the average consumer will just pick the brand that fits their needs and has the apps they want. For the most part screens are the same, if anyone has an inferior display is the AMOLED samsung pentile... don't even get me started on pentiles!

Samsung sales have been slow and they seem to think that stirring the resentment pot is actually going to foster good feels for samsung products, you basically just took a dump on the target market.

These need to be insta banned for comments....
1) I think the iPhone is just the right size anyways (you, not us we are different)
2) It's the same as mac vs pc anyway (it's never the same, so many reasons and you are demonstrating by comparing that you don't understand the arguments!)
3) Samsung has a point apple is obvious not innovating anymore (Samsung just want reflected glory by association, i'm surprised there are no rules in advertising about association)

So let me get this right. I can go get my teenager's iPhone and make a call with my iPad right now? Mike G said it best earlier: you will need an iPhone and an iPad to make a call on the iPad.

Did anyone else think that the S5 ringtone sounded a bit like a deeper version of the FaceTime ring, or was that just me?

"You know that thing you've been waiting on for like two years and how it's supposed to be awesome and how it's going to blow your mind? Well, it's been here this whole time. But maybe you just like waiting.”

Or in clearer words;

“You’ve been waiting for a bigger screen on your iPhone for two years? Idiot.”

This isn’t a case of Samsung attacking Apple and trying to win over their customers (like the Mac vs. PC ads), it’s a case of Samsung attacking iPhone users directly. I’m not really sure what they are trying at, though, since they won’t be converting any iPhone users by insulting their intelligence.

Am I the only person left in the world that doesn't want a bigger screen? I think the size of the iPhone 5 is perfect.

People say this about every iPhone ever. Que the statements afterwards how Steve Jobs wouldn't have allowed this.

Give it a week or two when people upgrade and get used to it. Suddenly, the iPhone 6 size is perfect and they don't need the iPhone 7 size.

New Phone

To be honest I do not want a 5.5"" screen. 4.7" will suit me fine. I have used my friends Samsung and that hunk of plastic is just to big to carry in my pocket.

My message to Mike G: iPad is a tablet, iPhone is a phone. I rest my case!

Seriously dude?

You know that thing you've been waiting on for like two years and how it's supposed to be awesome and how it's going to blow your mind? Well, it's been here this whole time. But maybe you just like waiting.

Non-issue advertising

Samsung is advertising their desperation by advertising Apple non-issues. They start with showing iPhone users fighting over electrical outlets, and now screen image. We have hundreds of iPhone users here at work, and have yet to see anyone searching for an outlet to charge or have a problem seeing or using their screens. Problem is that so many dumb-dumbs believe what they see on TV. Good grief, they even believe that reality TV, or anything they see for that matter, is real. So sad.
