I don't mean to sound cliché, but did anyone notice which guy had the bigger one, and which "envious" guy had the smaller one?
I'm sure samsung didn't do that on purpose.....

Lol I didn't even think about that way. It's even more funny now.

All advertisers think you are a moron. And if you buy a product because of an ad..I guess they r rite.. We are a species of morons..since advertising seems to work at times... It is a sorry commentary on the human race

Until recently, I hadn't used a Samsung phone. I had to get one for some Android development I am doing for a client. I got it, and with an open mind towards other platforms I started to use it. Galaxy S4.

Within a couple of days I wanted to get rid of it. Man, it feels like a junky piece of plastic. Android on it just feels off, everything feels a bit sluggish.

It was indeed, awkward to use with one hand. It felt like a second rate product.

On the other hand, there are some things I really appreciate. The file manager / file system was really great - especially for development purposes. Compared to locked down iOS land it was really nice. I did enjoy being able to load APKs to my heart's content (again, for a developer, great!)

As for consumer facing features? Not really. I wouldn't buy one for my wife to replace her 4s. I'll be waiting on the iPhone 6 after experiencing that phone.

Also, I might consider a Windows phone long before an Android. Unfortunately, no one makes any apps for them.

I remember when Apple said they weren't going to release a larger size screen and that it was perfect as designed. Then when consumers left to join Android they voted for larger screen phones with their wallets. Now Apple has to play catch up. Once you use a larger screen with a high resolution display it's painful to to back to the iPhone. It feels like you're looking through a tiny key hole trying to decipher information.

Actually, not true at all. I have been using an S4 for the last 8-9 months at my desk for testing purposes for a system we're deploying. At the end of the day I have no problem whatsoever throwing it in my desk drawer and going home with my "puny screened" iPhone 5S.

I even put the S4 in my pocket/briefcase a few times at the beginning, and took it on trips and home for the weekend. No interest to pull it out and use it at all. Finally accepted the fact that the only time I would use it is to test, so it only sits in the office. I am more than happy with my little screened iPhone.

This is a pointless ad because the iPhone 6 will solve this issue. Samsung is just shooting themselves in the foot like they always do.

People say this about every iPhone ever. Que the statements afterwards how Steve Jobs wouldn't have allowed this.

Give it a week or two when people upgrade and get used to it. Suddenly, the iPhone 6 size is perfect and they don't need the iPhone 7 size.

Well, they wouldn't have said it about every iPhone ever considering Apple has only changed the screen size once so far. I get what you're saying though. I just wish they had kept the current size and maybe offered a larger version instead of making 2 larger versions and discontinuing the current size.

It's funny no one likes these ads. I think they're not that different from the Mac vs. PC ads..

I don't dislike them because they are pointing out "issues" with the phone, but because they refuse to show why their phone that has the said feature benefits from it. Why do I benefit from this said feature? What is so great about this said feature? Why do I need this said feature? Just about none of their commercials show this while I think they are showing the iPhone off more in their commercials than their own phone. I see more people holding an iPhone in their commercials than their own phone. Now SHOW me why I benefit from this so called features.

In my mind these commercials sum of Samsung perfectly. They don't care how well they do a feature they just want to do it and be one of the one first ones. They add numerous of features, that I like to call "eye candy", but show no benefit in why I need this feature. That's my issue with these commercials.

Now since you brought up the Mac vs. PC commercials, Apple pretty much clearly showed some benefits of having a said feature or having a Mac. They got you interested in the product and the said feature. They introduced the feature and pretty much told you some quick things you could do with the said feature and even showed some quick benefits in the feature.

When Samsung starts trying to show me some benefits of the said feature and why I need it then the commercials will start actually becoming decent.

I'm right there with you. 4 inches is the sweet spot. Now Apple is just trying to compete.

*insert sex joke here*

As most reasonable people realize, there is no one right size. It's completely subjective. As far as Apple trying to compete, what else would you expect them to do? Apple is a well run company. They realize there is a sizable market out there that wants a larger phone. Why wouldn't they want that business?

History is littered with once successful companies that were too stubborn to change with the market. I seriously doubt Apple will be caught flat footed.

That's presuming that size is an advantage. We have a few Samsung people here at work that have to hand-carry their phones around with them because they won't fit in their pockets. Big advantage for sure.

I actually don't believe people can't fit an S5 in a pocket.

5) S-Crapware: THERE IS NO iOS ALTERNATIVE! (Except for Newstand)

To be fair iOS has some bloatware too. Not nearly as much as Android but I do have a folder full of Apple apps that I don't use and that I can't delete and I'm sure others do to.

I wasn't aware that there was a race to see who could make the biggest screen. Man Samsung is smart, I wish Apple could figure out how to make a device with a bigger screen. I'm thinking like maybe 7.9 inches...oh wait...it's called the iPad Mini. After they're done with phones maybe Samsung can work on a laptop with a 30" screen.

Some of the "technologies" Samsung advertises are laughable, they act like they've developed something that everyone wants yet nobody can make. It's more like, Apple could make that, but why would they want to. My favorite was the ad where all the people were crowded around and the guy was waiving his hand in front of his Galaxy to answer it. I always thought, there's a technology that nobody wants.

And once the new iPhone is released, a larger screen will suddenly be the greatest invention since the wheel. :D

No. What will make it the greatest invention will be Apple putting a larger screen on a device that isn't as big a paperback book, and building it with quality fit and finish to go along with the superior OS.

That's what will make it a great "invention."

What a great post.

Apple can probably make a 5.5" screen that only measures 4".

Huh? As big as a paperback book? Which phone are you talking about here?

These ads are VERY different from the Mac vs. PC campaign. Like night and day! Apple's ad campaign was done with class and humour. These Samsung ads are dripping with desperation, and continue to deride the USERS instead of the products.

Commercials... yep, not like making an ad about a woman with a physical handicap who travels alone to 3rd world cities showing off her ipad continuously, that's a very reasonable and logical ad by apple.

Which is more or less like traveling to Sudan wearing a suit made of steaks.

Tablets =/= Phones. :|
