Well, they wouldn't have said it about every iPhone ever considering Apple has only changed the screen size once so far. I get what you're saying though. I just wish they had kept the current size and maybe offered a larger version instead of making 2 larger versions and discontinuing the current size.

Apple hasn't made a statement one way or the other regarding discontinuing the 4" model. The fact is Apple hasn't made a statement regarding any phone, larger or otherwise. So hold on to that wish until they the 4" is non grata.

Yes, I do believe they are going to make a larger phone. But me believing so doesn't make it a fact.

And once again, Samsung is incapable of promoting one of its products without having to compare itself to Apple.

It makes them look weak.

They're comparing themselves to the strongest competitor. I don't see how this makes them weak any more than the Mac vs PC ads showed that Apple was weak. :|

Not sure if you watched the ads. They mocked Windows for being virus prone, not users for being unaware that there were other options. The tone and wording were carefully chosen. The entire gist of those ads was “PCs make you put up with all this crap, but did you know that there’s an alternative that doesn’t have those problems? Check it out!”

Very different end result.

But I do like how you’ve acknowledged that your original point was invalid. At least we can agree on that.

The entire jist of this ad is to point out there is an alternative to using a small screen. One you don't have to wait for.

These ads are VERY different from the Mac vs. PC campaign. Like night and day! Apple's ad campaign was done with class and humour. These Samsung ads are dripping with desperation, and continue to deride the USERS instead of the products.

Of course they are! When Apple does something that their competitors do, it's good. When the competitor does it, it's not good.

But they are weak. Their phone sales have taken a huge dive and no one is buying their S5 phones (even the name of it is a knockoff of iPhone 5S).

So now they're getting super-desperate.

This behavior makes sense when all you have going for you is a big screen. Samsung is sh*tting bricks knowing Apple is coming out with bigger screens on future iPhones. Their only selling point will be gone in a few months.

Apple knocks the competitor products, and does so with class. Samsung ads continue to knock the users of Apple products. Very different angle of attack.

Do you think? I think the difference is that we are on an apple forum and not a samsung one.

*insert sex joke here*

As most reasonable people realize, there is no one right size. It's completely subjective. As far as Apple trying to compete, what else would you expect them to do? Apple is a well run company. They realize there is a sizable market out there that wants a larger phone. Why wouldn't they want that business?

History is littered with once successful companies that were too stubborn to change with the market. I seriously doubt Apple will be caught flat footed.

It is subjective, which is why Apple should give upgrades for every size. I'd be disappointed if the 4 inch version doesn't at least have a spec bump.

Wait wasn't something like "wait and see" used in the Samsung ad? How clever of you.

Just wait and see, as soon as the iPhone 6 is released, a larger screen will be amazing and people will wonder how they ever survived with a smaller one. I read this forum almost every day. :)

I've used plenty of Samsung phones, it amazes me how many people actually LIKE using them. Only the most recent version of Touchwiz isn't 100% hideous and lag inducing. Even then, it is still a terrible overlay. Most of the features they introduce feel half baked and just don't "fit". Not to say the ideas are bad, but you can tell Samsung is just chomping at the bit to get it out there.

Android "L" is leaps and bounds better looking over the current versions .. but there are too many other issues to keep me here now that Apple is finally allowing third party keyboards + inter app sharing.

They don’t have to insinuate that I’m blinded to reality to do that. Besides, WHY do I want a bigger screen? Can you tell me? Because Samsung apparently can’t.

At least the iPhone 5 is still relevant nearly 2 years later... Show me anyone that would be happy lugging around a Samsung Galaxy S3 which was then the current flagship from Samsung. Point is, the iPhone is an icon. How many of us really even remember what features and build the S3 had? They all blend into samsung sameness.

LOL The next time I envy anyone with a Galaxy phone will be the first. These ads are just going further into delusional projection -- or trolling for page clicks, as I've yet to actually see Samsung do any paid placements on this recent run of anti-Apple ads.

The more strident these spots become, the more I'm convinced that Samsung makes them just to stir **** up on tech sites. They're also just flat out strange, given that Samsung also makes smaller screened phones, and phones with smaller battery capacity and with LCD screens. Yes, Apple is the target, but Samsung's ads are also pointing out weaknesses with the majority of phones that they sell.

I've had to help a couple of coworkers configure their Galaxy phones, and they just come across to me as clumsy, unrefined, and not very well thought out. It's a textbook example of what feature creep does to the user experience.

As for the screen? Yeah, it's all well and good until I try to operate the phone with one hand or see how readily it fits into my pant pocket. Screen size will always be a tradeoff when portability and mobility are a priority. If I already own something that meets my needs and preferences, then what's to envy? And if I was an iOS user that wanted a larger screen, why would I buy a GS5 right now when I know that the iPhone 6 is two months away? Just a weird grab for attention (or call for help) ...

You do care so little about this samsung ad that you wouldn't enter on a thread about it, watch the video, and write an enormous commentary, true?

Man, that's little-caring right there

Samsung has been using the S nomenclature for.... years now. :|

How clever repeating yourself a second time with "wait and see". Not that the first time you stated "wait and see" was not equally clever. Want to try for a third "wait and see" because and I bet it will sound even more clever.

The next iPhone could have a 2" screen and I'd still buy it before I'd even consider a Samsung device. Hell, it could have no screen and there still wouldn't be any question about it.

Spoken like a true fanboi. You should consider how well a tool works for your need instead of blindly following a brand. I guess :apple: doesn't need to innovate so long as people are willing to blindly buy their products because of the :apple: logo.

I have long used an android phone, not because it's better than iOS (it isn't). But because it suits my needs very well. I find the iPhone lacking in too many areas for my needs. When :apple: makes an iPhone that has all the features I look for, then they get my $$$.

Where do I say I care little? Because I REALLY CARE A LOT LOT LOT! :D

You know that thing you've been waiting on for like two years and how it's supposed to be awesome and how it's going to blow your mind? Well, it's been here this whole time. But maybe you just like waiting.

Maybe Apple should have their new tagline be: "Some things are worth waiting for."
