The amazing thing about the AirPods is that even with the continually flakey initial connection (when you take one or both out of the case), they’re still brilliant.

Just wish Apple would solve the connection issues so that I take one out, put it in my ear - and it works first time, every time.

I don’t know anyone among my friends or family who doesn’t struggle with this.

I see they’ve sprung for the more traditional design. I know people seem divided on this, but I've always preferred the parallel-running AirPod handles to the standard black lump design.

The choice is pretty clear to me, but I understand preferences vary.

Looks slick and premium for their lower end fitness tracker/watch. And the earbuds look premium and compact. Wireless charging the buds at 9W from the S10 is insane. Almost twice as fast as iPhone's in box charger. Embarrassing for Apple that a phone can reverse wireless charge at a faster rate than your wall charger. Lol.

I had one with similar design before, didn't like the at all, they stick out of the ear, it looks kinda weird. And before i had AirPods, i though they would look weird, but they don't, think they are really stylish and i love them, design is perfect!

This is all for good.
At least new generation of Apple AirPods will come sooner rather than later.
I Did not get v.1 but cannot wait for v.2 and for sure I will not be buying samsung’s pods period

Desperate? How so?

Just trying to desperately mimic the Apple ecosystem, with little success. Apple comes out with a smart watch, Samsung does. Apple comes out with a smart speaker, Samsung does. Apple comes out with wireless buds, Samsung does. It obviously happens all over the industry, but Samsung’s just feels a little too direct and desperate to me.

This doesn't scream "look at me" without the drain funnel design in white only. Why pay a lot of money if people don't look at you?

You should know that Samsung released their first smart watch almost 2 years before Apple did.

If you're going to fanboi, at least spread correct information.

Also, Apple didn't invent anything with the Airpods, it ended up being regular old bluetooth earpods.

Samsung released a smart watch (2013) well before Apple released the Apple Watch. Samsung also released wireless buds before the Air pods came out. So, yes, apparently it does happen "all over the industry," including at Apple, right?

Only one item in your timeline is correct. Kinda hard to criticize when the criticism is based on incorrect information.

He does know Samsung was first by years, because he's been in that argument in many threads in the alternatives section. Each time he tries to pretend to be objective, so he doesn't get called out for being a blind loyalist. But post like the one you quoted show him for what he is, an Apple diehard with no care for the facts. For people like him, anything else that any other manufacturer tries, especially Samsung, is DOA.

The Tranya T2 Ear Pods are £49.95 and improve over their equally excellent T1 models ... battery life is a factor when deciding expensive purchases. And paying the usual Apple x 3 mark up for usually no-better products is just too big a hit in these economic times.

I love my AirPods, I really do. But I admit, I would rather have a more concealed form the way Samsung has theirs without looking so obtrusive as the AirPods do. The AirPods work great, but I would like to see them more minimalized in the future, if that ever happens. Oh, and competition is a good thing. An Apple very much pays attention to their competition, vice versa.

No they'll use existing standards without arbitrarily locking out functionality for brand protection like Apple does.

Which means it’ll also offer worse pairing and device switching, even with Samsung’s own devices. Also, AirPods uses standard Bluetooth when connected to Androids and Windows. I know a few happy AirPods users who uses Galaxy or Pixel phones.

Ok, fine, one new thing.

The time saved pairing instantly with the first use is wasted fighting the airpods incessantly whenever you want to switch to another device however.

I have a Bose wireless speaker and wireless earphones. Both have a connection button you can tap to switch between known sources, e.g. laptop, phone. Switching also happens automatically if the current source is quiet but the other starts to play.

Maybe Apple will catch up with this kind of functionality after a few years.
