We know, we know samsung....
You did the same thing with the iphone not user replaceble battery, with no headphone jack....and now with the charger...but after a time, you will come along and take the same idea and apply to your own products as well
Samsung the biggest "hypocrite" company

Then also try to claim it was their idea.

I love this forum. Over at 9to5, they are complaining that Apple has multiple times of cables and how they aren't doing this for the environment. I'm sorry when an almost $2Trillion company can go completely green in 10 years. From materials for their products to running their offices is very impressive and shows they mean it.

Plus we all know the next iPad Pro will have MagSafe, even through the Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard kinda are already using it. I haven't plug my actual iPad Pro in since getting the keyboard.

Isn't it possible they actually do want to help the environment? Hospitals are businesses too and need to make a profit. Does that mean they do not care about the health of their patients?

Why will "most" have to buy one? What about those that already have multiple charging bricks and usb-a to lightning? Which I believe after 10 years with lightning, many, if not most apple customers have.
You can use your old cable and old adapter, but won’t get 20w charging speed. Apple only started putting 18w USB-C adapters with 11 pro. So if apple wants you to use your old adapter why include a cable most cannot use unless they buy another charger?

Apple has to include something. No matter what Apple includes there will be a universe of people that will not like the choice. And yeah, if one wants faster charging speed, then buy the 20w charging brick.

But you can still use your old cables. If you want faster charging you can get a $15 Anker USB-C fast charging adapter. But not everyone will.

Do you have that many usb-c adapters? I don’t believe it. I have 11 pro so I have a cable. This year I will upgrade everyone else in my family and then what? One usb-c for the whole family or 100$ additional for Apple. So much foe saving Mother Earth.
Are you serious? Every one of those USB-A chargers came with a USB-A-to-Lightning cable. Did all of your USB-A cables suddenly vaporize? I have as many extra lightning cables as I do charging bricks.

They're right. And just so you know, there are people who sells their last iPhones and they only own a single charger.

Samsung: wait...we get more money in our pocket if we don’t include the power adapter & charge for it separately for even more money?
Mr Krabs: Of course me boy!!!
Samsung: Hold my Soju...

Yup, and I agree. Was an attempt at sarcasm without using an \s tag, but I guess it backfired.

If the new phone provides a lighting to USBC cord, and people have a pile of USB-A chargers, then are they now expected to buy a USB-C charger, separately? If so, I think that is a completely unreasonable expectation of Apple and using the environment as an excuse is inexcusable, in my opinion, if this is indeed the case.

There's definitely a disconnect there in that respect.

Stop feigning injury. For the vast majority of iphone purchasers, if they have a pile of usb-a chargers they have a pile of usb-a-to-lightning cables.

Even if it’s a minor positive impact to the environment, every little bit helps. One only needs to buy the 20w charger if that’s how one desires to charge their phone. Otherwise use one of the pile of 5w chargers and other lightning cables.

Sure, it might help, but if Apple is providing all their reasons for it and making it look like they are working hard to do this great thing, it seems like they should then actually take on the burden of it rather than simply taking the easy task of just deciding to do it and having the consumer take on the burden (all while they not only get to simply save on costs, but even make additional profit in relation to it all).
