I'm no Samsteal fan, but this is actually a very fair barb against Apple. And a clever ad.

When Apple charges among the industry's most "premium" pricing for a smartphone, it better include the basics, such as a charger and cable.

Imagine paying for a top-of-the-line Audi, and then once you get your car, the steering wheel is missing. You go back to the dealer and he tells you, "Well the steering wheel is an optional upgrade now. I thought you understood that, it was in the fine print."

Can’t stand them, they always mock apple then end up copying them, and there phones have 120hz with limitations so no Samsung nice try
This tweet will age well

EDIT: Also best performance on a smartphone? They can't even match the performance of the A13 from last year let alone this new A14 chip.

Exactly, definitely those words are charged with a hefty amount of dishonesty.

Besides, I think it’s a really bad idea to try to gain users while at the same time being a bit condescending in their tone towards said potential users.

They are basically saying to all Apple customers that they made a bad decision , that they are late in adopting technology, so on and so forth.

Big PASS to Samsung, but sure, thanks for the backslap invitation.

I'm kinda waiting for Samsung to pull their posts and videos on the adapter thing just like what they did with the mocking of removing the headphone jack a couple years back LOL
I dislike this amount of dishonesty so much, it’s actually bothersome.

It would be way more respectful to says something like “ok people, we actually got it wrong, wireless headphones is indeed the future and we found ‘this and this and this’ to be quite beneficial by removing it. Our bad”

Apple has being selling their very expensive phones with minimun new, and some here dare to say Samsung copy Apple? Samsung was the first phone in the world 5g, and always giving more than apple in their new phones. They are also slim. Apple is snob and is selling mostly for 2 things : made in the USA, and the stupid APPLE symbol. Hey Samsung, COPY them with a banana or any other fruit and people will forget about the boring Apple... hahaha. In south Korea, the internet speed is 4 times the speed here in the US. So who is copying who?

I get that Apple wants to save waste and most people don’t use their adapters in the box. But most people don’t have USB C adapters. So they can’t even use the USB C cable that comes with it. I think Apple should’ve included an adapter this year and going forward not include one.
Don’t know if anyone’s pointed this out or not - phone still works with those 20 million USB-A to lighting cables you got already. Just saying.

Sort of like how Apple explained the dropping of the butterfly keyboard?

Apple decision removing charger is only make sense for user running Android, rather than loyal user of previous iPhone owners.

I had Google Nexus 5X from 2016 and those guys ships with type-c bricks and type-c to type-c cable. I think some Android makers are same, except for low end one which usually still using USB-A bricks.

Even on that times, when redesigned MBP 2016 introduced, it was first phone able to connect with MBP 2016 OOB using type-c to type-c connection, while in house iPhone need dongle or either lighting to type-c cable...

Whilst I think this is more about Apple saving money as opposed to the environment, it will still have a positive impact and reduce so much e-waste. For Samsung to mock it is rather pathetic and could backfire.
But what suck is Apple included a usb c cable where most owners has usb a charger. This is a dirty tactics to make extra money.

I hate that they pushed the whole environmental narrative for the decision to remove them from the packaging. That’s great, but clearly that’s not the main reason, or else they would be including a voucher of some sort for people that do actually need the power adapter and headphones instead of them spending $50 for their brand in store. Does this mean that Apple is going to stop making and selling their power adapters and EarPods in stores? Of course not. There was likely an increase in the cost of the phones and they needed to make up their margins somewhere else.

Dual Core and 10 Core are different models. Different products altogether, in fact. YoY iPhone iteration is not.
iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 are not different products? You do know that the process improves, camera improves, 5G vs 4G, and more improvements. They are different models and different products.

So when samsung remove the charger next year will they make out it's for the environment too?

Why should apple include a voucher, if they determined it’s a minority of people that actually need a charger? They would have to give the voucher out to everybody thus negating what they were trying to accomplish.

... at least iPhones didn't explode en-mass ...

As for the lack of the power adapter, and the headphones. They should let you have the option of getting them at the time of purchase with the phone for $9.95 each.. and see how many actually do it. Myself, I've never opened headphones from any iPhone package. But the adapters, believe me, every one of them gets used long after the phone has finally run it's course. There's so much USB stuff.. I'd much rather use one from a phone bundle over many of those sketchy knock off cheap @$$ ones that the corner gas station has at super markup stupid prices ... because, er, "convenience".

This whole everlasting quest to make the devices thinner and their packages thinner is so maddening, that one by one, they're chipping away at flexibility. Put the $%! power thing back in the package. That's just complete chicken %@#T.

What's next? Sell you a really thin box as a placebo, where you send in a coupon from inside.. or exchange it for a phone that comes out of a slot in a multi-packed box?

Sort of like how Costco has giant sealed packages of "nothing" for gift cards, theme park tickets, printer ink, etc..

A voucher, that if Apple were right, the vast majority would have no need to claim and wouldn’t. By Apples supposed logic that everyone already has plenty of power adaptors, then by implication everyone has plenty of cables too, but yet they included a cable anyway? Not only that, they cynically included a cable that was probably not compatible with that mountain of power adaptors? I guarantee Apple are getting everything they were really trying to accomplish.

To top it off, they then proceed to encourage folks to buy another charging device / cable, e.g. MagSafe wireless charger that again is not compatible with the mountain of chargers or the included cable?

You really believe this was a big environmental effort?

They then reduce the price of their adaptors; why? Is it because since nobody needs them, they‘ll be left in the shelves or perhaps people will see the intrinsic value and ask why the iPhone is being shipped with $60 less accessories than last year.

It‘s not for me to tell you what to believe, but I absolutely do not believe the Apple narrative.

Actually, I think the ad is relatively funny and kind of amusing. Samsung is known to troll Apple in the past, but I think they did it in a way that’s not disrespectful, but kind of clever enough where they get their point across. But I suspect it doesn’t matter for the majority, because consumers are choosing iOS or android, not a power adapter.

How would it negate what they are trying to do? Are you thinking they would have to include a giant golden ticket for the voucher? All it would need to be is the size of a credit card or smaller to hold the barcode and number. If it truly is a minority of people that need these accessories out of the box, they won't spend the time to redeem the voucher because they won't care. Those that do need them won't feel nickel and dimed by Apple to spend another $20-$50 for basic charging and headphones.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the EU starts some kind of case against Apple because of this lol “it’s anti-consumer!” If they can lose their sh*t about a non-standardized cable, I imagine they’ll be coming for this too.
I’m calling it right now for within the next 6 months to a year. A voucher would prevent that...

Yup.

If Apple was so for the environment, they should open up a credit program where customers can return their old unused adapters and earpods (and by the story of MR, seems like everybody have a boatload of them in their drawers for some reason) for store credit and recycling. Now THAT would help the environment, as it takes away the waste. Right now, Apple doesn't actually do anything other than shifting their carbon footprint to less environmental savvy 3rd parties who will try to sell more adapters and cables. They're just improving their margins. It's quite dishonest imo.
