Because your subjective opinion of the decisions don't square with reality. Plenty of people complained when cars replaced horses as well.

It's your comparison that's subjective and outlandish on equal measure. The reality is that me-too companies copycat Apple without any reality check.

Apple's "courage" was all about selling Airpods and introducing the "dongle" category. It remains a user unfriendly move to this day. And now that Samsung has debuted their own wireless buds with the Galaxy 10, it was a matter of time before they made BT audio a one way street.

Nobody asked to have the headphone jack removed, so why are Apple, Samsung and everyone else doing it?
Because its old tech and we need to move forward. Don't tell me that you expect this ancient tech to last forever. There is never a good time to switch as there will always be someone whining. This is just gonna make the transition faster.
The only issue I have though is that there is no standardized replacement. I guess USB C might be one but iPhones don't have them so its a bit messy.

No one asked for the floppy disk, CD drive, or Adobe flash to be removed but here we are.

Once you go wireless, you won't go back. It's probably been months since I've used wired headphones even on my MacBook.

The 3.5mm was invented in the 1950s. What almost 70 year old tech do we still use? WE moved past 8 track, tape, and CD. As well as tape to 5.25 floppy, 3.5" floppy, and CD drives.

Tech has progressed. There is no reason other than just because to stay in the past. There are always the detractors simply complaining to complain because it's not convenient to change.

And If you want a 3.5mm there is an adapter to do so. I dont see the complaints anymore about this as valid.

The pushing airpods is nonsense. If that was the case there would have been no 3.5 adapter in the box and Apple gives you headphones every year in the box. Horsecrap argument. If they wanted to push airpods they'd give nothing but the phone and charger.

This is the kind of thing that turns me against a company and not wanting to give them any type of future business with any of their products (meaning Samsung). If they had never made an issue about the headphone jack a few years ago I wouldn't see it as a big deal now.

Well...because... removing the headphone jack is a good decision. I’m much more happy with my airpods. Its much more convenient.

And for those who want to use their wired headphones, apple gave you adapter, I dont see why people on the internet are complaining.

Well... because... that's just you. I'm also happy with my Sennheiser true wireless, but there are times I'd REALLY want to charge and listen to my superior sounding Shures without any dongle interference.

Also, as of iPad Pro ca. 2018, Apple doesn't even include the adaptor at all, and I doubt they will again.

I'd think by now, most people are pretty well settled in either the Apple-iOS or Samsung-Android camps. The amount of people willing/wanting to switch, or at least thinking about it (and thus, susceptible to this type of marketing) has to be relatively small in the grand scheme of things

But you do go back because of latency, quality, and convenience. Especially if you take your audio seriously or make your living out of it.

Very Ironic to see. I don't understand these moves but just makes them look silly.

The amazing thing about technology in this regard is that nothing has been invented that is better than the 3.5mm jack so I can see why it stuck around so long. Bluetooth is so inferior to it, I can see the 3.5mm going away but why replace it with something that performs worse?

Because of user ignorance and perceived convenience.

If there is anytime to ditch the 3.5 now is a good time with so many wireless options out there, when iPhone 7 ditched it Bluetooth headphone was bleak and non existent in the sub 100 range

Apple did it to save a relatively large amount of space taken up by an ancient connector. The others did it because Apple did it.

It's not like they put that space to good use on iPhone 7, it was just a "barometric whatever" that replaced it. But ok, let's say with the limited real estate of an iPhone it kinda somehow makes sense. What's their excuse doing it on a massive 13" iPad Pro though?!

So they removed the 3.5 Jack, It’s not that big of deal. Bluetooth is fairly ubiquitous today, it’s nice to have the option 3.5 mm Jack, but I suspect a strong majority of consumers have migrated away from wired into a wireless world.

For the last time. Samsung removed it for a bigger battery. Apple removed it for aesthetics. Facts. Try using them.

In addition, Samsung is right to remove
it because they provide affordable alternatives. Apple, pony up almost $200 for TamponPods.

I don't mind the headphone removal, I switched to BT a long time ago, but in removing the port i'd have preferred Apple to spend a little bit and support some decent wireless codecs in return (e.g. AptX) so we got better audio quality.

i don't think that's the point. if you mock apple for removing the headphone jack, you look like an ass when you do the same thing later. even if you have twenty arguments as to why it's a good move. that's why it's a very bad move to mock your competitor in your advertising.

and the fact that they pulled this video shows that they are very well aware of that. :)
