For the last time. Samsung removed it for a bigger battery. Apple removed it for aesthetics. Facts. Try using them.

You’re posting a lie rather than ‘Facts’, here’s a direct source from Dan Riccio (Senior VP of Hardware engineering) why Apple removed the 3.5 mm Jack from the iPhone 7, it wasn’t for ‘aesthetics’, it was for battery and processor improvements, along side with increased water resistance.

For one, Riccio says 3.5mm connection took much-needed space away from the new camera technology, as well as things like battery improvements and speed bumps. Riccio also explained that the removal of the 3.5mm jack helped Apple meet the requirements for IP7 water resistance and increase the battery space.”

Riccio explained. “It was holding us back from a number of things we wanted to put into the iPhone,” Riccio says. “It was fighting for space with camera technologies and processors and battery life. And frankly, when there’s a better, modern solution available, it’s crazy to keep it around.”

Nobody asked for 3D Touch, Touch ID, or Face ID either, but we all benefit from those technologies. I have come to realize 99% of what this website's users complain about matter NOT in the real world of iPhone/Apple users. I get this is an Apple enthusiast website, but we shouldn't forget we account for a fraction of a percent of iOS users.

I also heard Apple removed the 3.5mm jack to enable them to increase the size of the Taptic Engine, which is one of my favorite features of iPhones. The physical feedback when scrolling and for Haptic Touch/3D Touch is a really nice feature.

Which goes to show that they are "followers" and not "innovators" otherwise they would not have mocked Apple in the first place if they had the fore site to do the same?

It’s a smart ad actually. Shows to potential users how Samsung phone always have some advantage over iPhone. Only fanboys will find it insulting. Apple did the same with their Mac vs PC.

Galaxy Note 10 just got 3D scanner feature and live video “portrait mode”. Let’s wait until Apple copies that.

Most likely because the 3.5mm jack receptacle is quite long, which means that any device that has one has to either have bezels that are large enough to accommodate it so that the tip doesn't touch the screen, or be thick enough so that the jack can pass below the screen.
Is it as long as the s pen stylus?
I mean it's funny if the reason for removing it is the size, where you have a whole stylus in the phone.

Hypocrites.
Come on, this is not news. Samsung marketing people themselves use iPhones.

But I'm sure people are loving that heart rate sensor behind the Samsung phones. Now that's innovation! ... /s

Because your subjective opinion of the decisions don't square with reality. Plenty of people complained when cars replaced horses as well.

I fail to see how replacing the headphone jack with an external dongle, and having to deal with the latency of wireless headphones for anything else than listening to music, is progress.

Chevy is now looking dumb for mocking Ford using aluminum in the F-150. They're putting a lot of aluminum in the new Silverados.

Some companies come up with ideas, others mock them for it and end up using the idea later anyway. Whether the ideas are good or bad, at least they're working on pushing things forward.

Samsung has spent years releasing ads that mock Apple's decision to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack from the iPhone, a move that began with the iPhone 7 in 2016. Now that Samsung has removed the headphone jack from the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy Note 10, the company has quietly deleted these mocking ads from some of its YouTube channels.

From Samsung's ad "Growing Up"

As discovered by Business Insider, the commercial "Growing Up" has now been removed from the main Samsung YouTube channel and the Samsung Mobile USA channel. The ad was released by Samsung in November 2017 as push back against the iPhone X and to promote the Galaxy Note 8, and similar anti-dongle ads released in 2018 have also disappeared this year. This can be seen in the dead links on our article for the "Ingenious" ads from July 2018.

The original "Growing Up" ad is still available on the Samsung Malaysia channel, however, and can be seen below. The ad depicts the life of a young man who finally decides to switch from Apple to Samsung, with one of the main points of contention being the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Samsung has historically used a mocking strategy when it comes to advertising its own products, taking to pointing out the downsides of its competition in an effort to sell Galaxy smartphones. The company has also made fun of iPhones for their speed, Apple's Genius Bar, the Apple Pencil, and much more.

Samsung just announced the Note 10 and Note 10+ yesterday, including an AMOLED Cinematic Infinity Display (the Galaxy Note 10+ features the largest display yet in a Note device). The Cinematic Infinity Displays are nearly bezel free and include a small chin at the bottom and a single hole punch camera cutout. There is also an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, face recognition, and -- of course -- no headphone jack.

As an avid Android user and Galaxy S9+ user. I'd have to say removing the headphone Jack after teasing Apple is a huge L. I still will only buy android till Apple stops forcing to purchase expensive accessories that I need and should come with phone. Also until Apple actually charges the proper price for their hardware.

“You have to get them and put them away and you lose them. Yuck! Nobody wants a stylus.” - Steve Jobs

In 2015 Apple started selling a stylus lol

Think twice before ridiculing Samsung or other companies

This is why making fun of other companies is silly. There's only so much innovation to be done, inevitably your product will end up being very similar to that of the competitor you just made fun of.

The only people paying any attention is us on the forums and those who makes money by making a stupid YouTube film about it. Hardly think the board at Apple gives a crap.

I find it funny how the adjective quietly gets added to sentences about corporations doing things. It’s nonsense meant to convey something bad or sinister or covert in the most straightforward decisions. Corporations are always “quietly” making changes. Yesterday, I quietly edited a post I made in Macrumors. I then quietly edited an email with some details I have gotten wrong. I quietly told my wife I had been wrong about that one thing. Hilarious and repetitive abuse of the language.

Again.

They removed it for the same reason they removed optical drives from iMacs. To make room for better tech (usually). The absolute worst part of no 3.5mm jack is having to use a dongle. I use BT headphones but carry the dongle in my bag with a set of wired headphones. It doesn't weigh me down much.
