Wrong. In the latest quarter the iPhone represented just over 50% of revenues. This information is readily available on the internet.70% Apple revenue comes from iPhones!

Spending 30 seconds searching the internet would have saved you from making this clearly false statement.Ha? Apple doesn't create any screen hardware. Samsung does. Samsung has this tech in their S line right now that does this. Apple is just waiting on Samsung to allow other makers to use their tech.
Mini fan!! I’ll skip this year but next year what determines my purchase is the 5.4 screen and not the 120 display. I have had the promotion iPad display for close to 3 years and I’ve never used my phone and said I’m missing out. I’ll get whatever htz is on the mini.I said that last year and I stand by my statement. On such a small screen, ProMotion is not going to make any real difference, except in the mind of those who purchase the device.
I am getting the mini again.
Because apple says you need it! Jk me neither but I won’t complain if the next 2023 mini has it.I have no idea why I would need a 120hz phone. It makes no sense.
Battery life. You don't have to worry about battery life on TVs, but you do on a tiny device like a phone. Even Samsung put 60Hz as the default for their phones. This would be awesome if it were variable refresh rate from 1-2 Hz - 240 Hz. 240 being standard for TVs, why can't they do this?
Because "Apple's iPhone sales accounted for 53.51 percent of the company's overall revenue in the second quarter of fiscal year 2021, the largest share of all Apple products."Why do iPhones get this before desktops and laptops?
And that’s all subjective. Someone else might feel they like Samsung products more, but find Apple products terrible.Samsung is an excellent manufacturer of equipment engineered by Apple. They are a terrible product design company. They can be both.
What are you talking about?! Lmaoooo.Seems like this is the end of the iPhone journey. Now, they will need even better marketing to make you buy another phone, or they will introduce even more planned obsolescence, like suddenly slower scrolling speed after updating to a “security” iOS release.
After this, all new iPhones will solely be about smaller notches, CPU/GPU/NPU and camera updates…exciting times…exciting times…
The innovation hit a granite wall, and the wall wins.
I said that last year and I stand by my statement. On such a small screen, ProMotion is not going to make any real difference, except in the mind of those who purchase the device.

Ok, I just read the piece of news again. Now I’m sad, why can’t we get a low power display in the regular iPhone lineup??
Damn, my hype has fallen down. I really wanted a low refresh rate display for always on notifications.
By the way, you forgot a comma: “No, only pro models get LTPO”, otherwise I could misunderstand you.
Refresh rate on such a small screen isn't going to be noticeable like it is on t.v. That is a fact. If you read and reply to my post in the proper context it was written, there would be no need to bring up console gaming units etc. as I didn't say all refresh rates are of no use.this statement makes sense in the mind of someone who hasn't experienced what this is like for themselves, and has joined the armada of people who have arbitrarily decided that higher refresh rates are either useless or "can't be seen."
but it's okay, you people do this every single time better display technology comes out. the next iteration is always something that has no purpose and supposedly no one can even see it.
and that's why current gen console gamers are clamoring for their games to be in 60fps, their competitive titles should push 120fps, but for years when only 30fps was possible for them the statement was "ohhhhhh 60fps doesnt make a difference. it's only in your mind!"
lmfao okay. move along now.
Except why would apple go backwards and remove OLED in the non-pro after introducing it in the 12 series?LTPO is OLED and LTPS is LCD, so yes.
No idea.Except why would apple go backwards and remove OLED in the non-pro after introducing it in the 12 series?
Not excited in the least. I've had 120 Hz on my iPad for years and it's not something I even notice.I am waiting for comments from people who said last year that 120 hz are useless and and a marketing gimmick...Now all of a sudden they are excited for this.
Perhaps because they're going to go with the mini-LED display technology from the iPad Pro? Or someone's finally going to launch something with micro-LED? OLED is great but it's not a backwards forwards thing.Except why would apple go backwards and remove OLED in the non-pro after introducing it in the 12 series?
Because iPhones drive the most revenue and profit... and volume. The volume of the iPhone means the cost of the tech can be drawn down more quickly over a shorter period of time. Desktops and laptops wouldn't generate the volume to drive component costs lower. Apple's panel component pricing with Samsung has been based on purchases of guaranteed quantities that come with financial penalties if the quantities aren't met. Phones get them closer to meeting the requirements. Desktops and laptops would not.
Apple could have gotten into manufacturing a long time ago. They smartly didn't and probably never will. Manufacturing is a cost intensive, usually low margin endeavor that would eat into Apple's profits quickly. It only works at really high volumes. Volumes that Apple couldn't meet with their own products. We all know Apple wouldn't be manufacturing for others. It's the reason Samsung supplies panels for so many different vendors. It's the reason LG does all the OLED panels for every TV vendor. It only makes sense with a large customer base.
Manufacturing facilities have to be maintained and that maintenance costs... a lot. Apple doesn't have those costs on their books and, as I said, I doubt they ever will. It makes not sense for them to carry that kind of overhead.

I am not part of "you people. " I speak for myself.
Telling me to move along to somewhere else is rude. I post where I want when I want.
I had the same problem with T-Mobile regardless of cellphone. When i was outside i would get 4 signal bars but as soon as i walked into my apartment building the signal bars disappear and “No Service” would appear, now i get 3 to 4 signal bars in my apartment with AT&T. I have run into people who rave about how great T-Mobile is but for me they are worthless because i do not want have to stand outside everytime to make a phone call.My iPhone X is crappy indoors but I wouldn’t blame that on the modem, more like T-Mobile. But most of my calls in my house are good and I call my family on WhatsApp most of the time.
There are many displays and laptops that are 120 Hz (and above) as well as Android phones. Unless you are only referring to Apple devices. Why do iPhones get this before desktops and laptops?
I’m sad to inform you that this 2021 iPhone lineup is the last one offering a 5.4” model. The iPhone 13 (or iPhone 12S) will be the last one with a mini model.Because apple says you need it! Jk me neither but I won’t complain if the next 2023 mini has it.
