It's no surprise. Apple added the SIII to their list of offenders. Of course Samsung is adding the iPhone 5. And you know what - if before it goes further in the courts and there's an iPhone 5S or SIV, those will no doubt be added too.

It will stop when a judge/jury says "enough."

"I'm suing you for suing me for stealing your stuff!" Whaaaaa! It's time for Apple to cut all ties with Samsung and patronize other vendors.

Sarcasm? Don't complain then when the next iPhone rollout is even worse than the iPhone 5. Apple couldn't meet demand this year. Take the manufacturing capacity of Samsung out of the equation to go with other manufactures like LG and watch orders slip even more. You'll see "shipping in 2-3 months" not "shipping in 3-4 weeks".

Okay, let's admit here guys, Samsung are not going to be able to put any sort of ban on any sort of Apple product. The whole thing will blow up in their face...

Giggidy

Apple sues Samsung, "All right, Apple. show 'em who's boss!"

Samsung sues Apple, "That's retarded. They're just abusing the legal system!"

Not a single person in this thread said it before you said it.

this is not an Apple fanboy argument at all. In fact, a Samsung fanboy said the exact thing (substitute Samsung/Apple) above this.

This is getting ridiculous from both companies.

Though people will go crazy if they manage a ban on the iPhone 5. People do love their Apple products..

Hell maybe Samsung can use the money to help customer service and other products. They still refuse to reimburse me on my faulty tv even though the specific model had problems over it and a lawsuit.

The iPhone 5 is an absolute mess. They should take them all back until they can get it right. iPhone 5=failure.

Probably something along the same lines as the trivial crap that Apple took Samsung to court over.

Yep, what comes around, goes around. Samsung looking to get back the $1billion. The legal councils end up winning in the end.

Samsung and LG are cloning crooks with zero regard to business ethics. I avoid South Korean electronics for that reason.

Samsung initially partnered with NEC to develop a lot of their early technology.

All companies "steal" to some extent. Apple from Xerox. Microsoft from Apple. etc.

Ultimately it's the consumer that will loose with all these nonsense lawsuits. But nobody can really blame Samsung for attacking Apple. Offense is after all the best defense.

And let's not forget who started all the litigation when they couldn't compete :(

will iphone 5 still be available in Nov?

You bet! A newly designed iPhone with limited LTE capabilities, and a new triangular shaped Samsung Galaxy with pointy corners! :D

Even with the lawsuit they lost and the Galaxy ban (I understand the Judge lifted it today), I still don't think Samsung would be stupid enough to try and block it but who knows....

The amount of severe, severe bad press that Samsung would get....would be tremendous, imo, even with Apple throwing the first ban around. Not saying Samsung is wrong....just that people not having the ability to get the iPhone would piss off many people, even those with iPhone 5's

I don't know if your serious, but not even Apple can afford to write that check.

You must not be thinking of how much Samsung is involved in other markets beside phones.

Actually the market cap for Samsung is roughly the same as Apples cash hoard ...

But what would Apple do with a company that makes everything from refrigerators to coffee machines?

The things Apple sued Samsung for were not trivial. They were essential contributors to Apple's trade dress. Samsung "borrowed" those items to confuse the consumer into equating Samsung products with the iPhone. The fact that these were additionally patent violations compounded the offense.

But earlier you said...

There will definitely be a newer/better iPhone released shortly after the iPhone5. It will probably be 4g capable, have more ram and a faster/better cpu. These are features that Apple will be forced to finally include in order to keep up with competing technologies.

But it will not be in the phone to be announced on Oct 4th.

Not doing too well in the prognostication department, are we.
