Look at your iphone 7 and then comment lol and the horrible iphone 8 ugly notch wont be a beauty without being delusional like yourself.

Samsheep cal it bezelless which it aint. That was his point.
No one ever said the iPhone 7 is bezelles.

Samsung has the Bluetooth 5.0 that Apple has invented. Do you want to bet that new iPhones will also have Bluetooth 5.0?

...

BS

Apple has not invented Bluetooth. The development is done with Bluetooth SIG (8 members and founded by Ericsson) and Galaxy S8 was first phone to implement 5.0. The technology itself was invented by Jaap Haartsen while working at Ericsson.

Apple has been member of Bluetooth SIG only since 2015...

Almost any android phone with nougat just works. Most of us that are getting the Note 8 are getting it because it does more than "just work".

I love how people ignore the S-pen features. With the S-pen, its definitely not the same phone. Oh and lets not forget the refined design, less steep curves, dual camera set up that kills the competition, and 6 GB of ram. Also, the flash now separates the camera from the fingerprint reader and the reader has a more defined border so you recognize it without trouble.

If you can reach the fingerprint reader.
The S-pen? You need two hands to work with your mobile device. What’s mobile about that?
The double camera is not copying Apple?
I saw the event, which was boring, they zoomed in and shaked the iPhone 7 a lot. So fandroids, samsheep can say we have a better camera? Lmao

There is one thing NO ONE can argue about : the ugly, dated, huge protruding camera lens of the new iPhone looks embarrassingly inferior compared to the discreet, flat camera lens of Note 8.

I don't understand why Samsung can make it flat while Apple is incapable of overcoming such basic problem.

It truly affects the design of the whole product in a very negative way.

As an audio guy... I'm getting this for the audio support. DSD, 32bit audio and free AKG headphones since Samsung bought Harman.

Wav and Flac uhd audio built in. DSD 1 bit audio built in.

Take my money Sammy.

Even Android Authority stated that the headphones are Samsung with just AKG logo on it.

Sounds like you're trying to justify overpaying for bad specs. "ram managment" isn't even a real technical term.

<citation missing>
So what if it's not a technical term lol. I know what works and what doesn't. That's enough for the consumer.

"Literally" means for real. You got your hands on a Note 8 w/6GB RAM so you can compare the two first-hand or you're just blowing crap out your butt? I'm guessing the latter...
Samsung can't get it right with 4GB of RAM. Do you think they will succeed with 6GB? Maybe. Hats off to Samsung if they finally make their devices usable for actual work, I guess.

Simply not true. I’m an iPhone 7 Plus owner and it is obvious Samsung has been winning the camera quality battles for the last several years. The 7 is slightly worse than Samsung’s. Will see if the 8 changes that or not.

Samsung doesn't do depth mapping for Portrait mode as far as I know, they do some edge detection. The reason is - they don't have access to Android low level api. Hey, I don't know, I'm only quoting Vic Gundotra, I guess he knows his stuff.

Also, it's not obvious - Samsung oversaturates their images to the point that they always look cheap to me. To each their own, I guess.

Either way, I wouldn't touch Samsing even if they did holographic 3D image capture.

And when you accidently drop the GN8 and it hits on the sides, the screen cracks. So you have to add a third party case to protect the sides rendering the edge to edge screen and swipe from left/right useless. Try again Sammy.

That thing looks really cool!

I still don't like the rounded edges on the screen though and looks like the iPhone Edition will follow.
iPhone 8/X/Edition/Pro will not have a display that curves around the edges. It will have a display that covers the full front face minus a very thin bezel (practically negligible) around the entire thing and a small camera “notch” at the front which will house a dramatically improved front facing camera and 3D Facial Recognition technology that is reported to be able to scan a face using a wide variety of three dimensional points — all within millionths of a seconds.

It sounds like Apple’s execution is exactly what you’re looking for.

Hate that aspect ratio. Makes the phone look funny and you can't see as much in portrait. Stick with 16x9.

Really? This is what apple has been doing for how many years? Same phone just bigger. But it's Apple so your ok with that

I am saying that I don't see a big difference between this phone and the S8. I didn't mention anything about Apple, but if they released an iPhone and then 4 months later came out with a completely different phone and it was basically the same thing, I wouldn't find it very compelling either.

This phone is absolutely unmanageable with one hand. Not so much because how tall it is but more so due to lack of bottom bezel and software not being adjusted to offer alternative solution. That navigation bar at the bottom is impossible to reach with your thumb unless you are holding the phone way up high in your palm. Finger travel just became hand travel people.

Same fate with catch iPhone 8, the bottom of the screen will be useless unless they either a) revamp the software so no navigation is on the bottom of the screen or b) they make virtual home button at the same physical size of the current one in which case bezeless design is just a gimmick and bottom of the screen is useless or c) you have to adjust your grip so you don't get cramped thumb movements but you are risking at dropping it due to lack of grip

Basically iMessage and FaceTime are the only reasons im still an iPhone user.
That plus OTA universal timely updates, Apple Care Plus, and the Genius Bar are what's holding me back, although I may try out the Note 8 this year since it is unlikely I could get the iPhone 8 before January with the limited availability and I'm not sure I'm ready to spend $1000+ for the privilege. I like the idea of the stylus for note-taking. I've been an iPhone/iPad user for 7 years and Mac user since 2001, totally tied into the integrated system, so it will be a huge experiment/adjustment. I'm just tired of incremental improvements and the Apple tax, especially since they seem to be behind the curve on so many fronts. And charging me through the nose for their products/services despite the lack of innovation.

LOL, I guess an Apple fanboy would spin it that way. But nope, content doesn't change. Just underpowered 1GB, Apple cutting corners. A 1GB 6+ should have never been put on the market.
Nor the original iPad Air on which the lag/frame drop was even worse. I was burned with both the IPad 3 and the iPad Air due to insufficient RAM.
