Samsung S26 Ultra/S26/S26 Plus

I have t had a Samsung since the S22 Ultra, did they ever fix the over saturation in photos ? The optical zoom on the 22 was very impressive, I bet it is even better now

I know you are probably being serious, but it reads very funny based on what has changed.

The saturation is by design. It's a little too much, IMO, but your mileage may vary. It has not changed.
The optical zoom went down from 10x to 5x. The 3x optical is still so bad that you should just not use that lens.

I suspect it is more accurate- in order to reduce liability and "warranty" repair costs for Samsung. I don't pay much attention to cycle counts on any battery powered devices.

So long as they hold a charge for daily+ use in the case of mobile phones and a solid 6+ hours for laptops, it is good enough for me.
 
Privacy feature is admittedly pretty cool if that’s important to you. While MKBHD’s video says it shouldn’t change the display when looking straight on, when it was activated the screen clearly dimmed a little bit.

I personally don’t have a need for it but certainly a better option than having to put on existing privacy screen protectors.

Not in the US...Those prices are with my S25U trade-in....

In USA you can get the free storage upgrade through Best Buy, or presumably other retailers. I'm not seeing it direct from Samsung. BB also seems to have the same trade-in values as from Samsung (for S25U at least), but the trade-in value doesn't apply instantly (would be refunded later).

But I don't see any real reason to upgrade from my S25 Ultra.

Amazon U.S. has the S26U double storage upgrade plus $200 Amazon gift card. So far Best Buy just offers the free storage upgrade.

The Ultra is an impressive phone.
When it gets in the wild I'd like to see how the AI features compare to the Pixel. The privacy screen is impressive, I really like it. The camera stuff looks good, I hope it's a solid improvement over the S25 Ultra.
 
Anyone a bit surprised they didn’t update the selfie camera on the Ultra. Bit embarrassing if even the base iPhone 17e gets the new selfie camera. And why do you have to shell out for the 1TB storage to get more RAM, is that because RAM chips are getting so expensive?
 
Did you guys see how they barely mentioned the S26 and S26+? Man, come on, people still want those devices to get upgrades!

This was not an S26 series event; it was an S26 Ultra event...

Also, so much talk about agentic AI, and just one example which is still beta...

So, third year in a row with basically the same base and plus models.

That sky blue ultra is one of the best colours I’ve seen for a phone in a while.

I was looking at the trade ins for my 13 Pro and they are really a pittance.

It's disappointing to me how Samsung isn't making the smaller S phones more premium. Not all of us want large phones.
