I ended up settling in around 7.5 to 8 hours. I do notice I get worse battery life when my t-mobile sim is in it than my at&t sim. I'm sure reception is a big factor as well and the pixel is known for having weaker modems. Traveling for the next week and have the sim in my S26U because I just trust the battery more. I sure miss the pixel though. I love the way it handles live activities and just the overall ui better.
Where I live is poor for signal tbf, but it's on wifi all day.

I was weighing up pixel experience v reliability, and I think the samsung wins for that. I will miss instant software update availability, but it's not the end of the world.

My S26U 512 in violet arrives tomorrow. I seem to get half the screen time that aggie99 gets on my pixel 10 pro xl
Same here when I use my Pixel as my daily driver with my main sim in it. I get nowhere near what aggie99 gets for SOT.
My S26U get easily 7-8 hours SOT as my daily driver with my main sim it it. My Pixel XL gets 6 and on heavy days have to top it off sometimes.

I wonder if it's because 90% of the time I'm literally right next to an AT&T tower. S26U is my daily though. I need to run the Pixel more as I've only used it a few days. Trifold is on my business sim and it's getting about the same SOT maybe a little better than the S26U

I'm about 500m from nearest mast, but they put it at the bottom of a hill, so I connect to one much further away lol.

It's not an apples to apples comparison but my 10 Pro gets significantly better battery life than the ZF5 I had prior. They are in different networks too which probably makes a difference as well.
But if there is an S27 Pro model I will probably get it. My Pixel is really good but I miss the split window and floating windows offered by Samsung. Plus the customization options.

Heads up, but the Samsung language core is taking it's sweet time to download, it is 3.1 GB to be fair, but I have wifi 6 on a 1GB connection and it's been at least 4 hours so far... maybe 2 mb per second are downloading....

Other than that I really like my S26U except for the fact my magsafe wallet won't fit due to the bottom camera... and it wobbles. Alot. On the plus side the alarms synced over without silencing themselves (looking at you apple... my GF got a 17 pro, and I transfered everything over, edited the wake up time for her as she needs to get up at different times, and it decided to become a silent alarm). I need to redo fingerprints as they seem a bit finicky compared to my pixel.

Shout out to smart switch for allowing me to transfer data from my Pixel, and my iPhone, not just 1 phone.

Smart switch is amazing! I can have an encrypted backup of my S26U on a usb-c drive!

Didn't know that, does it back up everything like an iPhone backup?
Yes...it backs up passwords to apps as well and as setting and so forth. So the great thing about Smart Switch is you can have backups set to the cloud or local PC or a USB-C drive. Then also you can restore from all of those locations. I find it easier and faster to restore from a USB drive then the cloud. I do this when i upgrade yearly to the new S series phone.

Since I like the camera layout on the Pixel yes I like that look for an S27.
It's more like going back in time to the Galaxy S10. They used to have a similar camera layout a few models ago.....

This is the box design for a 2nd year already.

I dunno but something tells me this is tasteless bs. I couldn’t justify paying this price for s25 that was in this same box and still cannot justify doing it for s26.

Someone will say “c’mon it is just a box!”. For me a new phone is an experience. It is not a McDonalds meal or Starbucks coffee to look like single-use consumable item box. This is a box of a device that is supposed to bring some joy to life. And I think this is very tasteless of a large Korean company to present their product like that

My other half just hands me her new phone and old phone and says "Transfer everything", so not everyone is invested in the box.

Having said that there's so little changed from 25 to 26, does it warrant a new box?

Once the phone is out of it and into my hands, I never see the box again (well for a year anyway until upgrade time)

It doesn't. Idk why anyone would not buy a phone because of a box that's going to go in the trash anyway

I like it! Loving the camera array That means no more wobble!

S27 Ultra

I'm a fan of this new look especially if it means no more wobble. I use my devices case-free.

Too bad we'll have to wait until February '27 to know about the S27 Pro. It'll be difficult to resist upgrading to the Pixel 11 or iPhone 18 Pro during that wait. Waiting for all three to be out would lead to the best decision...
