You have one device that can do more
Than just having two separate devices
Plus the fold 7 is an impressive bit of kit
Smartphones, foldable and otherwise are clunky to use and don’t have the horsepower and display options of laptops along with the software the hundreds of millions need. Sure, the bigger the surface area the greater for consumption.
A foldable phone today is like the iPhone 6 years ago, a form factor option. Another form factor, another price point with a small, medium or large display.
Taking a cue from some of the conversations foldable are not innovation in the same way a bigger iPhone is an innovation.
Apple under Tim Cook in his 14 years has made very few missteps and many wins. In and don’t get me wrong foldables will be another form factor for a price, but it is just another incremental improvement in the historical timeline of smartphone updates.
What are you on about regarding clunky an old fogey can pick up a smartphone and use the basics on it but not a laptop because the OS is more clunky.
The only reason why your down playing foldable’s and trifold’s is because apple are behind the times in pushing new form factor’s

Tim Cook has increased profits but not innovation under apple as they are behind Samsung’s flagship devices and trifold’s are a perfect example of this
That’s a false statement, imo. A more appropriate statement is under Tim Cook profits and innovations have increased. An also true statement is Apple is usually not first with tech.
In the same way that people who have serious needs, above check email and face Facebook, I’m interested in why you believe a foldable phone is all that? It’s another form factor, not a holy grail.
The other reason is this is an incremental improvement and foldable are prone to failure. Looking at you Samsung.
Bigger screens? An incremental improvement.
That’s because they wait for the competition to bring things out and once it’s successful then apple copy it from bigger screen phones

I would say trifold’s but I can’t see any on Apple’s website or even foldable’s it must be that invisible page that only true apple fans can see?

Yeah Apple has been doing that since their inception. Did they invent the computer? Phone? MP3 player? Earphone, watch, speaker, monitor? Nope, nope and nope.
And yet even after not inventing any of the products above they are worth $4T and just broke revenue records. The critics miss all that.
That works out about $495 dollars per person
In the world and yet individuals like yourself wonder why governments and companies are not only regulating them but are taken them to court
It’s not innovation to allow your competitor like Samsung to consistently since 2010 bring out & use technology that is not only better but more advanced then for apple to implement it years later because they are forced to from bigger screens to oled panels
And so on to now trifold’s
What failure my mum has the fold 7 and it’s a better device than the 17 pro max on multiple different levels and it’s got a fit & finish that I’ve never seen in a mobile.
It’s not the holy grail it’s pushing the envelope in terms of design and technology inside and out that Apple can’t match
That experience as claimed is strictly anecdotal. To go back to the iPhone 6 it was unique as well. Foldables don’t push any technology, like the AVP did for example.
No I don’t wonder, they are incredibly influential. And because of how they operate they get hundreds of millions of repeat customers who willingly buy their products.
If you follow Apple, they release tech when they deem so. Not forced. Which is how they get repeat business.

So that works out at $495 dollars per person based on Apple’s worth so that is why they are getting regulated and taken to court and they get the consistent criticism when they are behind companies like Samsung pushing the latest technology in their flagship devices like foldable’s and now trifold’s that apparently the most innovative mobile company can’t produce
There is this thing called evidence and being an apple fan then you can’t provide a side by side comparison of what it’s like to use a foldable because apple can’t produce or provide an experience of using a foldable or trifold mobile so your example is not correct.
What’s the AVP as I’ve not seen many people purchase these or use them do apple still sell these headsets because they are so innovative that all these apple fans are queuing around the block at apple stores just to purchase one
Doesn't matter the functionality. Trying to scroll a spreadsheet of that size on a 5 inch screen is terrible.
Why there have been efforts to regulate Apple is due to their influence. The fact the Apple customers spend imo also upsets governments and that dovetails into their influence. Apple never pushes the tech, they just get it right and produce a product billions want to buy.

The AVP pushed the tech boundaries much more than foldables. Everybody for example Samsung invented oled. They didn’t, Eastman Kodak did.
If you have an iPhone 17 pro max then you can compare that with the s25 ultra because that’s both high end models from both companies but how can you compare
The fold 7 with an Apple equivalent because there is none so the fold 7 is a better product than what apple has out that’s not being biased that’s just counting.
How can the AVP push boundaries is not many individuals have purchased it so then it can’t be that good then can it.
Yeah a 4 trillion dollar valuation company can’t make a foldable or trifold mobile and Samsung can I suppose Apple’s customers don’t want the latest technology in smartphones
A $4T company makes sure the other companies stumble and then release tech that just works. I suppose that is what apples customers want. Let others make the mistakes first.
The price to value ratio of the new phone based on estimates is all wrong imo. Same as the AVP except Apple pushed the boundaries with the AVP. Samsung is presenting a new form factor.
But according to yourself apple sell the most devices so that’s why they are better than Samsung’s flagship devices and because Samsung haven’t sold a tonne of foldable’s then it’s not pushing the boundaries yet practically nobody is buying the AVP yet according to yourself it’s pushing the boundaries 🤔 yeah good one
Yeah, that's the exciting thing about it. It may be expensive to get one now, but we are slowly getting there.
