Why are people getting so upset/angry/offended/triggered by this advert? It’s so bizarre. Just take it for the humorous advert that it is, or if you don't enjoy it stop watching it and move on.
To spell out my own position, I’ve been a Mac user for decades (I’ve owned PCs also), I was getting every iPod upgrade released since Gen 3 up until the iPod touch. I owned every iPhone from the first one at launch up to the 6S Plus, I then didn’t upgrade for a few years because I felt innovation and upgrades were stagnating, I waited for the X launch before upgrading that phone. I loved the X, it lasted me a good few years, but again no innovation from Apple. I switched to a OnePlus 8 Pro, which at the time was lightyears ahead of the Apple offerings hardware wise. Even today it’s still a lovely phone, but I didn’t get on with Android at all, it was mainly buggy and unreliable, so I switched back to Apple with the 13 Pro Max and I’ll be with Apple moving forward, just unlikely to upgrade as often as those initial years. I'm deep into the Apple ecosystem in that I've got iPads, iPhones, MacBooks, AirPods etc, so I'm going nowhere. I've also owned a couple of Samsung TVs and the build quality and software offerings are shockingly poor, the OS is so slow and unresponsive and riddled with adverts and crap I can’t disable it’s untrue, so I’m firmly in the LG OLED camp now and won’t be buying another Samsung TV again.
So with that all said, with my commitment to the Apple ecosystem and products moving forwards spelt out, I’m still just a customer, I’m still just a revenue stream for the company, and they are still just a corporate entity. I owe them nothing, they owe me nothing. They have no feelings to hurt, they aren’t a person or a loved one, they are just a business, a competitor to the likes of Samsung. So, if Samsung want to go ahead and make an advert like this then why should I take offence to it? Why would you take comments about a product you own so personally? Your behaviour and reactions to the adverts are exactly the same mindset as what most of you are pointing the finger at Samsung for. “They’re just making Samsung owners feel better about their phones”. You’re doing the exact same about your own purchases/phones by reacting so negatively, you're getting so hurt by the comments and defending your own product to justify and validate your purchase. Like any of it matters, if you enjoy the product and get what you need out of it, then that's all that matters. Outside opinion plays no part.
You’re also all forgetting the Mac vs PC adverts which were exactly this same line of humour, but because it was on your side you didn’t care (or likely half of you are too young, or weren't on board with Apple until the iPhone and have no clue). Advertising and marketing has always been about selling your product by promoting it’s USPs and stating what makes it a better purchase over other products, it’s normally done in a less obvious manner, but it all boils down to the same thing at the end of the day.
Just chill guys, stop trying to stick up for Apple like he’s your younger brother in a playground fight with Samsung the bully kid, stop acting like Apple is your best friend, they’re company, you’re a customer, they give you a product in exchange for a lot of money. That’s where your relationship both starts and ends, they don’t care about you, they’re a business, you’re a tiny number in one of their spreadsheets somewhere.
