I’ll bet they would sell 15 more phones with this cheap shot, meanwhile… Apple would sell tens of millions of iPhone14 with a huge profit, sorry Samsung:cool::cool:

I have a Mac Pro solely for reading emails…you reckon I’m gunna buy one of your phones?…come at me Samsung..

I don't care if Samsung's new phone offers 500mpx camera, they can kiss my hopper dropper.

The flip phone is a game changer. All the folks that have one swear by it and so many aspire to get one. Just the other day a friend set the phone up on a table to take a video. That’s impossible to do with a candy bar phone without some kind of stand.

Say what you will, but Samsung’s right. Apple by and large rests on their laurels and then put out features that the competition has already had, but years later. This is intentional. Apple’s phone sales rise year over year, and they know that they only have to do the bare minimum. Can you blame them?

Unpopular opinion here. I don’t care.

You can have all the megapixels & zoom you want... But the Samsung camera processing sucks and the Pixels and iPhones consistently outperform incredibly well.
Most high end phone cameras are pretty much similar at this point. One camera can perform better on different occasions but it's hard to say one is vastly superior to another, let alone call one particular brand suck. They do ok for cellphone cameras. Not much, not less.

Those moon 'photos' are interesting. But - what kind of trickery are they getting to put the details? Are they using AI to fake the details? Why can people get clear shots of the moon, but can't seem to get clear shots of things like airplanes at the same distances?
Yes, they are AI renditions of the moon, not actual moon photos. Because we know what the moon looks like from every angle it's non-trivial to "enhance" whatever shot you take of the moon based on your location and the angle you are shooting at.

I got the fold-4. It's an AMAZING phone. I really cant wait for a foldable from Apple. The only reason I'm not keeping it is because I don't want to give up my Apple Watch, which is better than the Galaxy Watch 5 by a mile.
Oooo, the smartwatch conundrum didn’t occur to me until your post.

I don’t really care about iMessage issues since I used Samsung phones for years and could still communicate fine between friends and family, but the watch is an issue.

I use a cellular Apple Watch 7 and it’s so nice to have accurate GPS for runs and activities, and be able to control home locks, garage door, and even my car with the Apple Watch. I literally can leave my wallet and iPhone at home, go out and still be reachable and pay for things solely with the Apple Watch.

I previously went through two Galaxy S Gear watches and the biggest limitation was insanely inaccurate distance tracking. My Garmin Forerunner 230 was super accurate for distance but lacked cellular connectivity. Apple doesn’t necessarily make the best smartphone, but they do make the best smartwatch.

In a new ad, Samsung is throwing shade toward the lack of "innovation" on the iPhone while promoting features such as a 108-megapixel camera and 100x "Space Zoom" available in its latest devices.

The ad, titled "Buckle Up," is aimed toward current iPhone users and promotes the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the new Z Flip 4, and features not available to iPhone customers. "Buckle up for Apple's latest launch," the ad says. "As you enter a world where heads will turn, just none in your direction." A world where "the highest resolution in a smartphone will be in someone else's pocket. And that epic moon shot that's getting all the likes won't be yours." "This innovation is not coming soon to an iPhone near you," the 30-second ad concludes.

The ad comes just six days ahead of Apple's "Far Out" event, where it's expected to announce the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro. Apple is planning major new features on the Pro camera systems for its higher-end devices, including an all-new 48-megapixel camera and possible 8K video recording. Alongside camera improvements, the iPhone 14 Pro is rumored to feature an always-on display and a new pill-shape notch replacement.

Nice!!! Now if you only could run iOS...

fsfs man we all have our preferences. my favorite phone ever made was the galaxy S10e the best phone I've ever had.
Aye, we do. My preference is for iOS, iCloud and Apple's ecosystem. The phone is just a way into it and it happens to work great with all my and my family's devices. I use macOS both personally and professionally and an iPhone is the perfect companion for both. Like I commented elsewhere, if iOS could run on a Samsung phone, I'd try it. I look at the hardware as just a tool, a viewport into the rest of it. Nothing to get too excited about, actually :) At the end of the day that's the preference that keeps me with an iPhone and that's why Samsung marketing would never work on someone like me.

I admire, say, BMW's M series and Mercedes AMG. Great stuff, don't want it. I know, bad analogy as those don't make up an "ecosystem" in my mind but it's like I admire Samsung phones and their engineering, just don't want them.

I tried a galaxy watch a few years ago and it was the worst. Calling its distance tracking inaccurate is being too kind. It was awful, and this is coming from someone who used several fitbits before ending up with a GARMIN Venu. Do NOT get a Samsung watch if you intend to use it for distance tracking.

That’s the irony, isn’t it. Apple, per your assumption, is resting on their laurels, yet their sales keep increasing YoY. How can that be? :D

That’s what baffles me. Their sales certainly aren’t increasing because of explosive innovation.

People generally stick to what they know. Everyone I know just goes to the store and gets whatever iPhone is newest when their current one breaks. I doubt anyone I know could actually tell you what iPhone model we’re on right now (13).

And also iPhones are marketed as premium devices. That alone draws a lot of first time buyers.

To be fair the user experience is good. It’s just not new. It’s boring. But sometimes when you get the basics down pretty well that’s all people want.

But I still stand by what I say. Apple really just copies everyone else a year or two later.

I was about to but I need / want to be smart with my money in todays climate so I managed to resist haha. I already have a spare iPhone 11 and two Galaxy from work.
Which Galaxy devices if I might ask? Do you like them?

This type of campaigns are so unpopular and quite rare to see in Sweden. Talk about how good YOUR product is, not about how bad someone else’s is. It’s a sign of weakness, a sign of not believing in what you are trying to sell, be it a smartphone or a political message.

Embarrassing.

Swipes at Apple in their ads are annoying, but at least Samsung is trying different form factors like foldable phones while Apple is still using the same tired form factor they first used in 2007 with the original. 15yrs without a single form factor change is getting boring now.

Just seems Apple wants to stick with the tried and tested iPhone and just improve it with baby steps each year instead of trying to do something innovative for a change.
Not to mention Apple is still using the same basic iPhone design since the iPhone X in 2017.

When they actually had the audacity to use the same design for three years in a row (iPhone 6, 6s, and 7), I was dumbfounded. And then they used it again with the iPhone 8 (though the X also launched at that time). I thought “Only Apple could get away with this.”

And then they went and did it again with the current iPhone designs. Sure, they squared things off last year with the 12, but that was hardly transformative.

Like I said, only Apple.

Even though I don’t want a foldable, at least Samsung is doing things no one’s ever done before. Not to mention their regular slab phones routinely have been ahead compared to Apple for years. Apples finally, just now, about to catch up with the hole punch for example.

Apple seem to have forgot the meaning of the word “innovation”.
No, they have not. They are extremely smart. If they made the best iPhone today (which they can certainly do), you will probably not buy the next update for another 5years. So they only make enough for you to crave for more just after 2 years.
Look how people are craving for a type C port, which will come, just after you have spent every penny buying 48mp iPhone 14 pro max. :D

I know people will get fired up about this, but like I care so little with what is going on with Samsung/google related stuff that it's really no big deal. You like what you like. I don't judge anyone for using Samsung. Okay I might get a little judgy when I am texting them and it has to go green bubble, but thats it.

One of them is a Galaxy A52. I like it. The under the screen finger print sensor works well. Their Android version also seems very polished. There are a lot of things I wish iOS had and vice versa. I like the Always on Screen, additional camera settings like waving at the camera to take a selfie and other little things which just add up. Oh and you can easily tell which photos have already been sorted into albums, which makes sorting photos so much more convenient if you don’t do it routinely. I also love how light the phone is comparing to my iPhones.

My biggest flaw with android in general is that Android developers do not follow a common design language so it looks kind of messy in a sense, starting with app icons sometimes being round, sometimes in different shapes. Navigations and menus looking completely different. I know you can theme but I have not found one yet that doesn’t look very „3rd Party attempt“
