No way they are going to give up. this is nothing to them financially and who knows what sweet tidbits they may find out about apple inner workings. business as usual in corporate war games
I think the lawsuits are ridiculous and can't stand what this world is coming to with everyone suing everyone... with that being said I think Apple deserves it. It's a vastly unpopular stand here but I still believe Apple is historically too quick to sue. It's a good thing Apple is a relatively late entry into the mobile phone market compared to other companies or else they'd sue companies for the idea of being able to communicate on any device that's not a landline. Also good thing for us other companies invented texting or else an Apple device would be the only device you could do that on. Heck, Apple themselves admits iMessage was the answer to BB's Messaging service as a means to circumvent the cost associated with SMS and send directly to another device... good thing Apple didn't invent this or RIM would find themselves in court. Apple deserves to be in court...and deserves to lose a few to bring them back to reality. IMHO.
I have used .mac/mobileme since it was launched.
iCloud is bugged. If you have many devices it syncs the bookmarks back and forth forever. Adds one more copy of all bookmarks. During sync Safari takes 100% CPU time. Since the bookmark file gets larger and larger, its harder for me to delete the added bookmarks.
Apple is also greedy that they require 10.72 for iCloud on mac. "you don't have to use it". I have to. I have used .mac/itools for over 10 years. Apple closes MobileMe and forces me to buy a new mac just to be able to use iCloud.
Windows users get treated better since Vista is supported.
Apples arrogance is starting to hit my nerves.
They treat us as children and wants to get payed insane for it.
First these clowns wanted to see the unreleased "iPhone" and "iPad 3." Now they want source code, carrier agreements, and whatever other straws they can grasp at in desperation.

Between my SGS issues and a Samsung monitor that failed far too soon (I did fix it for about $10, but some piss poor components in use...), I pretty much wrote them off when we purchased a new set last year.
Went with a Panasonic G25 series Plasma (54", THX, etc.). It's outstanding all around (and no, there's no issue with FBs or any of that other voodoo carped about over on the AVS-nerd-o-rama forums...
).We won a bid last year with the Feds, and a large company asked to see our proposal, but we were pretty much allowed to redact anything (as long as there was reasonable cause). So any [proprietary] methodologies, architecture, business practices, etc., got removed, and it was basically 50 pages of black squares

Legally Samsung would not get the source code.
A third party appointed by the court would get it to do review of it.
Samsung have nothing to gain from this. This is just cultural "saving face" tactics from them.
I really feel sick when I see my Samsung products at my home. Was a huge supporter until they went insane.

One housewife innovates, help the other start factories, buys products from them almost 10 billion per year.
The other housewife. Can't innovate own OS or design. Leaks the other housewife products. Uses the same parts in their product line as they manufactured to the other housewife.
This is so one sided.
No joke. Now they just seem to be harassing folks. I'm sure that Apple's lawyers are already working on motions to make sure Samsung can't ask about upcoming products and possibly motions to get those that aren't even involved or were ever involved in any iOS devices excused as irrelevant.
Samsung has said that the patents in question are required as part of the standard so FRAND applies. Apple would know this so if they haven't licensed the patents its because Samsung refused or had crazy terms that violate the rules behind FRAND. Samsung doesn't need any proof based on their statements because just having 3g in a product means you must be using their patents.
Plus Samsung hasn't shown any evidence of their attempts to get Apple to license properly or proof that the Qualcomm agreement doesn't cover partners. Produce that and it's game over you win on this one. But no, instead they are calling to depose folks that haven't been at Apple for 10 years.

Yes. I agree. Have 3 Samsung set and spent upwards 10000 dollar on their products.
I want to puke every time I see the Samsung logo.
Lion costs 29 USD and can be installed on every Mac you own, so if you have 2 machines that's 14.50 per machine. It can be installed on any Mac with a newer processor than Core Duo, which means the last 4 to 5 years of Macs. Windows 7 is at least 89 USD PER machine for an OEM license - and if you change the motherboard because of malfunction or upgrade, go get a new license.
To sum up; iCloud is entirely free and replaced the arguably inferior MobileMe which was 99USD/year, Lion is silly cheap and can be installed an unlimited number of times on all your different Macs. Windows is at least 89 USD per machine and has no equivalent to iCloud. I fail to see the greediness of Apple here.
Depositions have nothing to do with Qualcomm case. The former is in USA case and the later in Australian case
Samsung really don't have a clue. Apple were granted access to see Samsung's future products because they were copying Apple's designs, and the court wanted to know whether the new designs also infringed. There's no way Samsung will get access to Apple's source code, nor access to their carrier agreements; it's just not relevant to the case. They're just clutching at straws, they know they're fighting a loosing battle.
I don't know if Apple is infringing or not or if it's handled by Qualcomm license but why is not relevant to the 3G patent infringement showing the source code for the firmware?
So what you're saying is, you're going back to the Stone Age and not buying another piece of technology ever again?

This will be a huge eye opener for you, if you have the courage to accept the facts. It will also be a great learning opportunity.
If you can surpress your burning desire to employ selective reading, you will see it from a different perspective.

i am getting tired of the iphone and all this BS... 4S have battery issues mic issues etc... and the damn screen is soo small.. if iphone 5 is not the greatest -phone ever i think iphone will start to go down..
