I still don't get why Samsung takes this approach when it comes to their marketing considering they can't outsell a 2 year old iPhone. Samsung needs to focus on marketing their features and what makes their products great, not trying to beat Apple. Unfortunately their users only seem to care about that as well. Sadly for me, I was never able to get the Iris scanner reliably working when I had a Note8. I don't know what it is, it just never worked for me. I even had to turn off the part of FaceID that scans for eyes.

Been an iOS guy since day 1 but switched to the s8 last year and now the note 8 and loving it! The new Galaxy phones are beautiful compared to the iPhone 8 and X. Also love some of the Samsung features like the edge panel and of course I can customize just about anything I want. Also, I can charge my phone, icon x 2018 with my MacBook charger... Can't so that with an iphone

What's your definition of news? This is one of the worlds largest companies inviting the press to the release of one it's flagship products. On a tech website that's news.

Really your response is just an attempt to throw shade at a product your not interested in.

I like this forum for its range of responses but the hate for Samsung from some users is odd to me despite this being an Apple orientated forum. The reason being is I think everyone should feel positive to Samsung, even if you don't purchase their products, because while they continue to innovate and manufacture they keep Apple on their toes and stop them from being lazy. This is a win for everyone.

The Note series along with a few other models from HTC etc helped drive Apple to finally release plus sized iPhones. For this I'm thankful as really enjoy owning a 7+.

That’s not true either, the original galaxy note through the note 4 were unveiled at IFA, but the note 5, note 7, and note 8 have all been unveiled in NYC.
The note 9 is scheduled to be unveiled in NYC as well.

Not true. You can use iris scanning with Samsung pay. It’s the face unlock you can’t use.

They’ve mostly unveiled them in August, either at their own avents (unpacked) or at IFA. IFA is usually at the end of the month and unpacked is usually towards fed beginning. Apple usually unveil the new iPhone in September but it’s not always on the same date.
