"we rushed to beat an iPhone, we forgot to check the batteries, explosions, denial"

Nah, Samsung doesn't have the Courage to say that.

(They are still working on copying it. Takes a while)
They didn't rush in the slightest. The Note 7 was released just some days before the Note 5

Don't confuse people with facts...
Does the Note even try to compete with an iphone anyway?

I don't think so in my personal opinion. It's still got the stylus. It's still bigger than the plus versions of the iPhone (Not by much but it's been bigger for awhile). I feel like it has its own crowd that it's tailored for.

There is no difference between Apple and Google as regards data collection. One hides it.One is simply truthful about it.Dont let media hysteria fool you. And let e tell you ṭhaT the data collection actually plays wonders in utility.Google Assistant even in beta wipes the floor with Siri.Google Now simply provides more info than Siri.I get my daily traffic notifications,my Amazon delivery schedules, sports scores proactively .

Whoa there fella. If you are going to make things up, at least try to make them coherent

Size is certainly something the iPhone copied....

Anyway, I think Samsung worries more about the China phones that get better, and better. For me personally, the days of expensive phones are over. My $150 Xiaomi beats the iPhone in many ways. It doesn't beat Samsung technically, but the price....

I like Xiaomi. If only these really awesome phones would be made with US cellular bands. Having band 12 on T-Mobile is very vital to me. I do have a Mi4c though and it gets okay HSPA+ speeds when I'm in a good signal area.

After my S6 Edge got so hot, I really kind of backed away from Samsung. I've still got my Note 3 but they'd have to do a pretty good solid for me to buy another one after that Note 7 fiasco.

Picked up my first Huawei, an Ascend XT, on BF. Surprisingly, it's a high quality phone for $50. I see these destroying the traditional mid range market like iPhones. High end devices with unique features like Wacom pen on Galaxy Note will be relatively safe.

My very first Android was the original Ascend. It still works years later too!

Or they destroy mid-range phones like the s7/s8. And leave high end phones like the iphone alone because of it's customer base. I can see the Note line becoming under attack as well from lower cost vendors.

With service, support and longevity being a differentiator between what costs $300 and what costs $800.

Middle range?
High end?
Seriously?

The calculation is getting difficult. I have a cheap Xiaomi, and a brand phone. The difference is quite small. If you compare now to iPhone it's getting worse, as they don't support many features, such as dual-SIM, free to use NFC, SD cards. That will hit Samsung more then Apple, as iPhone users seem to stick to Apple no matter what.

Of course, I fully understand what you are saying. Each of us places a different priority on what we want from a phone.

Nothing but media misrepresenting facts as usual. This report looks like a news report from Fox News. "another person with direct knowledge said" Funnily enough this guy isn't named. I would have trusted these sources had it not been for facts not contradicting them. Now lets disregard these "sources" for a minute and look at the facts

Note 7 was released on Aug 19
Note 5 was released on Aug 21

So I would love to hear how it was rushed when the Note 5 was released at approx. the same time and so is the Note 8 which is scheduled for release at around the same date

Samsung boss is a suspect in a South Korean political scandal

Seems they have other issues to deal with too

So does Apple

There is not a single phone on the market which has all the features of the Note line including the overall hardware design. The iPhone will once it gets Apple pencil support which should be somewhere around 2018

I trust the reporting of Bloomberg over the CEO of a company that is desperately trying to salvage its reputation and Ive anonymous posters on an internet forum.. Your other example is a classic internet case of deflection, all the while trying to impugn the stellar reputation of cook. What nonsense.

As far as the note, overall the entirety of the iPhone beats the entirety of the note, imo. If I need that stuff I'd rather carry around my sp4, which can run Linux btw.

What are you talking about?Where did I talk about Samsung's CEO.Let me reassert. This is not nn opinion. These are facts

PS- Samsung doesnt think its reputation is all that damaged considering they are continuing the Note brand

Maybe in an alternate dimension. Can the iphone do this?

When it comes to productivity,Note destroys an iPhone. The iPhone needs Apple Pencil support and a way to integrate it into the chassis to compete

Just look at the design

I hope things continue to go wrong for them and the entire company goes down. Despicable, dodgy company run by crooks.

Honestly why are you here? Do you even own any Apple stuff? Serious question.

Samsung can think what it wants, it's up to the consumer to decide. Between washing machines, my own Samsung tvs, and the note I doubt I'll buy another Samsung branded appliance, but that's me.

Again I "trust" the reporting of Bloomberg.

As far as who can do what, continuity, handoff, Live Photos, notes collaboration, photo sharing without a google account, voice mail transcripts, bokeh in photos, Apple Pay for websites, iMessage enhancements, etc. see how silly it starts to sound. As far as productivity the definition is fluid, not fixed.
