Can Samsung do like, anything, without copying it from Apple?
No, absolutely not it turns out

I cannot imagine what the designing and approval process of this device looked like. Did their design team turn up at meetings after months of work and proudly state „Look, this is what we came up with“, and everybody agreed „Oh, nice work, let‘s do that“? How can they not be ashamed of themselves even handing in such a blatant rip-off? Unbelievable. Every designer even having the guts to hand this in as a suggestion ought to be fired on the spot for obviously not doing their job.

I think it’s delusional to call a product dead a week after the product line was continued.
Same way people misuse the word "scam", they call things "dead" when they are very alive. I don't know if you play games or not but we'll see a game with 1 million active players called "dead" because it previously had 5 million. Like people can't differentiate between less popular and dead.

Continued is a stretch. It's a mere speed bump, made possible by a CPU designed mainly for other products. It's probably just a way to limit the losses on tooling and get rid of Vision Pro components. All rumours suggest the development of future versions has been halted. It is a dead product.

And Apple wasn't the first to make earbuds, watches, tablets, phones, or VR/AR headsets. What's your point?

That Samsung makes carbon copies of Apple products: Samsung’s earbuds look nearly identical to AirPod, their watches look nearly identical to Watch, their tablets are identical to iPad, (many of) their phones are identical to iPhones, and their VR headset is indistinguishable from the AVP.

There’s some degree of inspiration exchange on both sides, but I do wonder what it, and android xr, would look like without the Apple Vision Pro, because there are so many similarities it could easily be described as a straight copy in many regards.

They’ve no doubt Google and Samsung saved a lot of money on their development being solved by Apple.

Why on earth hasn't Apple created a Vision OS-native version of Maps? Crazy that Samsung/Google are getting there first. Such an obvious use case.

Maps would be very good in AVP.

Time to sue.

I think in the very least, analysis to determine lawsuit viability would be money well spent.

No it's not. The iGoggles are like binoculars with no long term use case when iGlasses are released. It's common sense evolution.
The iGlasses won't be able to reproduce the full functionality of the current iGoggles within the next 20 years. And by then, there will be technology to make new iGoggles much better than today's iGoggles, so the product category will still be relevant.

I’ve noticed that I don’t get along very well with Android users or Windows users. First of all, it usually doesn’t even take five minutes before the propaganda and Apple-bashing begins. I couldn’t care less what anyone uses, or about the whole discussion in general. Secondly, we’re always talking about completely different things. They talk about spec sheets; I talk about user experience. And now there’s yet another topic to argue about, why Samsung’s smart glasses are supposedly better than Apple’s. I can already hear them parroting that Android is more “open.”

Umm .. are you joking?

Have you read any comments about Android or Windows from Apple users?
It doesn't even take one minute, let alone 5, for exactly what you're describing to take place.

Terms like "lagdroid" and "Windoze" are but the tip of the iceberg.

This goes both ways, 100% of the time.

They have?

Apple Maps on Vision Pro:
  • Explore in 3D: Pinch and drag to move around the map, zoom in/out with hand gestures, and rotate using both hands.
"3D" projected onto a flat surface, if I'm not mistaken. Not spatial and stereoscopic 3D.
