I'm going to slap an :apple: logo on that watch and "watch" all the reviews turn positive.

No.. this thing is a steaming pile - irrespective of what sticker is stuck on it.

The difference here is that Apple will make an effort not to release something as bad as this. And if they do, they will likely apologize to their customers for release such a poor product.

That cameralens is gonna die. It is placed right were your arm touches the table when resting your arm.

Comes with a spy cam? Wouldn't wearing this attract accusations of voyeurism?

What's next the ankle watch version for the Japanese up-skirt market?

Supposedly the shutter noise cannot be turned off - so as to prevent spying like that.

There's a definite sense of irony that so many people "copied" each other in this thread with the same comment - don't you think? ;)

What do you expect? Samsung does not have anything to copy from... ;)

This is what happens when Samsung has nothing to copy from and they come out with this...haha the next big thing.

This is why Apple shouldn't fear Samsung in the long run. They are inherently copy cats, and whenever they try to "innovate" - something like this comes up..

All this thing is going to do is solidify just how much Samsung copies Apple when Apple comes out with their supposed wrist-device.
Here ya go folks, this is the kind of quality you can expect from Samsung when they have no established paradigm to base off of. This is what you get from Samsung when they try to venture into unknown territory.

Samsung- this is what you get when you don't have an existing design to knockoff.

the should have waited for apple to release their smart watch so Samsung can have something good to copy

How long will Samdung take to change the whole design after Apple introduces their iWatch?

So wait, Samsung is now in the business or proactive copying instead of reactive?
In their rush to beat Apple they've forced out a dumb, cheap looking product that no one will want. Seriously, has Samsung EVER had an original idea in its life? They should at least stick to waiting for Apple to come out first so they can see what th public will actually want.

This is what happens when Samsung tries to innovate. Had Apple released iwatch, Samsung wouldn't have made such a bad product.

Well they didn't have anyone to copy from did they?

This is what happens when you have nothing to copy. ;)

this is the kind of crap Samsung makes when its not busy stealing Apple's technology and design.

Only one thought came to my mind: This is what Samsung's innovation look and perform like if they cannot play the copy-cat.

70 apps at launch... I downloaded 70 apps at lunch

The iPhone launched with Safari, iTunes, Google Maps and a calculator and an SDK or an AppStore were not even rumored back then - and people bought it anyway.

Personally, I do not even need one app for a smart watch because I certainly won't ever buy one. I haven't needed a wristwatch in more than thirty years, and something tells me that a smartwatch won't magically create a new need for one. But hey, it's a new toy and people will want it. Until the next new toy comes out, of course.

The first thing that came to mind is this guy.

Am I the only one that just really doesn't want any kind of "smart watch"? I already have a nice watch and it gets a couple years out of its battery, and gives me accurate time. In fact, I've never had to even call tech support for it either. I spilled water on it once, still works fine.

My thoughts exactly

Note 3? No thanks. I don't wanna look ridiculous. Stylus is so innovative. Yeah "experimental" to pay $300. Fail!!!

A pen can be useful and it is just an option. Use or not, I know I like at least having options. I doubt it is suppose to be innovative, just useful. As for a three hundred dollar watch? Looks a bit meh, no real reason that I can see personally.

This is what happens when you rush a product's development.

So you know the exact timeframe Samsung had on this watch. Or are you guessing that they only started working on it when rumors began surfacing that Apple was working on it.

If a pen was such a ludicrous idea (for the iPhone and iPad) - there wouldn't be such a huge demand for aftermarket styli. And the market is pretty huge. Some people will just regurgitate Steve Jobs' belief system about only needing a finger.

Something is rotten within Samsung...

I don't know how anyone would dare to release such a product. It goes against everything a good manager would do.

It will end up being push by carriers as a $50 "gift" for those who purchase a Samsung Note. I don't see how it could be sold by its own.

"I believe it will become a new fashion icon around the world,"

I believe it will become the new defining moment for the downfall of Samsung.

I believe it will become a new fashion icon amongst 3rd graders... wait... A $300 watch for a 3rd grader? Nope.

I believe it will become a new laughing stock item in the tech world.

I definitely do *not* think it will become a world-wide fashion icon. Or even a useful watch for most folks.

Considering how bad this thing is, I definitely think that Samsung wasn't working on this till leaks suggested Apple was and if you look at the quality and design of this thing, this isn't something they couldn't have come up with in a year.

God, "I believe this will become a fashion icon?!" Delusional. They'll sell exactly 16 of these.

Yep, I propose a backslash be placed in front of his name...

"I believe it will become a new fashion icon around the world," said Samsung CEO /jk Shin

meh! and even as the apple fan I am, I could care less if this was Apple coming to market.

But I'm not a watch guy. I don't get people spending tons of money to have something fancy on their wrist which does the simplistic task of telling time.

Time which can be viewed from phones, vehicles, microwaves, computers etc..etc...

I just don't get the smart-watch.

Even for running - ipods or iphones will track progress or a GPS watch will, play music etc..

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't get it.

Cheers,
keebler

Epic fail

This device is not even worth a joke. Seventies design & 1 single day battery life. This isn't funny; - this is tragic.
Maybe they can sell this premium product in North Korea?

In this case it has zero to do with android. It's to do with which devices Samsung have made the client api software available to.
Samsung fragmentation is a subset of Android fragmentation.
Every fragmentation within Samsungs android-based phones is also an fragmentation of Android in general.

In order to not suffer from fragmentation, every Android device that is capable of running the newest version of Android, would have to be able to work with Galaxy Gear.

Everything else = fragmentation.
All the good reasons for fragmentation are unimportant to the user.

Wow, that's ugly.

I haven't worn a watch for years, this wont make me change my mind :)

Version two is out now!

I just heard version 2 of this watch just came out... all you have to do it tape your current smart phone to your wrist... it does everything your phone does, but on your wrist..
