This will go down the same path as Android smartphones have gone. The terrible battery life will force them to have to use bigger batteries which they will cover up by increasing screen size. I can't wait for next year's Galaxy Gear S Note II with 4" screen.
This **** is UGLY.
Clearly didn't employ someone experienced in the field of high fashion.
That's so totally wrong, you couldn't be wronger. If Apple had released this, the only person loving it would be Samsung's CEO.I found it most interesting that if Apple had released that exact product, everyone would be loving it. LOL
You post that in a weird attempt to prevent people from posting exactly that. But that's the truth: Apple would never release rubbish like this. This product is dead in the water. You'd have to be a total imbecile to buy one. So yes, Apple would never release something like that. Now here comes "Apple would never release something like that"
If you think it looks pretty good, you really need to get your eyes examined. If you hate your neighbour's kid, you buy him one of these to make sure he get's beaten up at school for wearing it.I think it looks pretty good. How well it works remains to be seen.
What I want is a watch with fully functional 4G LTE Internet access built into the watch. I am hoping for this functionality for iWatch....fully functional in-watch 4G LTE. That would be a very compelling reason for me to grab one.
I think you might have this wrong. Perhaps someone on here can correct me ... but my impression was that Samsung got the idea from Apple because they heard that Apple was working on a watch. Then Samsung rushed through the engineering process and into production so they could be "first." But they aren't really first. They are second. Apple has been working on it. Apple just didn't want to start "selling" it first because Apple wanted it to be done right. No matter how you look at it --- that's still idea theft.
I couldn't help but laugh1-day battery life... so I gotta buy a new one every day?
Seriously, though, is it just me or does anyone else think those things are butt-ugly? Also, it looks like Samsung (as usual) has jumped on the "features" bandwagon without addressing usability.
It looks Korean. Like these Korean couches...You get them home. The next day, your like. Eeew!
I think this is why Samsung released it, despite the fact its a piece of crap. I don't think they feel they could compete with Apple toe-to-toe in the market and therefore had to resort to being able to claim FIRST.
Well, ultimately the reviews aren't that great for this. It's bulky and laggy.
It seems Samsung just tried to come in early to this game, because they know Apple are working on such a thing and are trying to eat away at the market share early. The problem is that they don't really know what Apple are going to do with a wristwatch, and I don't think Apple will release something as sub-par as this.
Very interested to see what Apple do.
I hope Apple does NOT create an iWatch. I've never thought it was necessary. With that as my opinion of making a smartwatch, it shouldn't be a surprise that I think this thing completely reeks.
This is what I hate about tech companies sans Apple. The constant need to feed the beast (e.g. the tech press that needs something shiny and new every day) and just throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks. There's no thoughtful consideration, just the mad rush to get something out before the competition even if you have no idea what the competition might be doing. If Samsung had employed thoughtful consideration and wasn't so concerned about getting something to market before Apple and Google, they would have shelved this product until they could produce something that wasn't so bulky, got better battery life, didn't require a companion device and was cheaper. I'm convinced we haven't seen an "iWatch" yet because Apple is trying to do something different, something that isn't like what's already on the market. And rather than release something that's not ready they have no problem starving the beast even if it means they get the "no innovation" tag from the media.
...I'll never understand why Apple fanatics need to degrade another company in order to feel good about a consumer products company that they inexplicably hold allegiance to.
It would be amusing if Apple surprised us all and came out with something spectacular this year to make the Samsung watch DOA, but it probably won't be until 2014.
Although, truth be told, if Samsung is charging $299 for their watch, it does make me a bit nervous to think about what the iWatch may be priced at.
...and the only reason we're hearing a lot about it now is due to the Pebble's success...
