You could be right. Ultimately neither of us don't know for sure how much either party contributed to the final results, but in the end, I am good with it. I am happy with my X and it's screen and look forward to continued screen improvements.

Actually iPhone X and Samsung galaxy phones look quite different under the microscope

It’s apples technology and Samsung is just the fabricator.

Yea I am sure there are differences and Apple is behind those, just not worth arguing with some guy on the internet with no knowledge of the subject.

From Displaymate:

"First we need to congratulate Samsung Display for developing and manufacturing the outstanding OLED display hardware in the iPhone X."

Just not worth arguing with some guy on the internet with no knowledge of the subject indeed. Keep peddling your blind loyalist message.

Bottom line: If there's no bone crushing, world dominating OLED tech from Samsung, there's no iPhone X OLED display. Nuff said.

Erm... Samsung are the world's premier maker and designer of mobile oled screens, are you suggesting that at their first ever go at an oled screen that Apple have somehow beaten the masters at their own game. Mmm. Can't see it myself....

I’d imagine Samsung has a lot to do with it, but the X was a better display than the S8. Do you think Samsung just saved the better screens for Apple? I guess it’s possible for a price. I don’t think anyone can know for sure how it went down.

Some of Apple fans are straight up delusional. It's a waste of time arguing when the level of dumbness is this high.

Pictures don’t lie.
Apple has been devolving oled screens for a while now, Apple Watch debuted in 2014.

Btw lg is the king of oled screens, Samsung has pretty much abandoned oled technology in thier tv screens and gone all in with qled.

Well put.

What’s dumb about this? From all reports... Samsung manufactured the display and Apple calibrated it to their liking. Do you honestly think that Apple just took an off the shelf (better than any other display Samsung had released) display and threw it in the X?

Samsung developed and manufactured the display. I guess I should be given all the credit for how amazing my TV is, since I calibrated it. Lol

I am not sure if you are serious or not. So if you feel Samsung was solely responsible, do you feel that they just gave Apple the best displays for the iPhone X instead of their own phone at the time, the S8?

Show me where Apple does anything now than calibrate the display.

I don't understand your question. Show you what? And to reiterate my question, do you think that instead of using the best displays themselves, they decided to give them to Apple instead? It's certainly possible I guess, but I would imagine the color calibration that Apple did (natural vs. saturated) made a difference in the display rating. Either way, you seem awfully worked up about this so maybe it's best to move on. Ultimately, both you and I don't know what is accurate.

Out of curiosity do you have a citation for this "fact"? Oh, I know Samsung manufactured the display, probably not up for question. As to the rest, who did the design etc, there is no proof if apple accepted samsung leftovers or designed a custom screen that Samsung manufactured. But this seems far off topic.

To make things simple for you, tech fast reports :

But what has Samsung got to do with it all?
While Apple is responsible for the calibration and adaptive software that brings the display to life, DisplayMate makes sure to “congratulate Samsung Display” for developing and manufacturing the OLED display hardware itself, as it was "the only company manufacturing them in high volume".

Source

Always amazes me how Apple loyalist give Apple credit for tech they have no history displaying. Considering the fact that Samsung owns the mobile OLED industry, makes the assumption to giving Apple so much credit for the display that much more ridiculous. Smh

Smh, as you say. That’s what I thought. I thought you had a citation from Apple itself.

Riiiiiiight, let's keep moving the goal post, and ask for a reference from a company that would never admit to something that gives its biggest competitor credit. What a joke.

Okay, so no proof. Got it. I think that’s all you had to say. The rest is just standard internet hyperbole.

The burden of proof is on you as I’m only claiming you can’t prove with certainty Samsung’s overall part in the process. Other than they manufactured it which is pretty much a fact.

Right. You'll accept DisplayMate's word on how good the display is, but not the part where they specifically congratulate Samsung for developing and manufacturing the displays. Got it

Apple claims they engineered it and I believe them...The proof is in the pudding.

He just doesn’t want to accept it.

From displaymate:
“I recall the Galaxy Note 8 having a reported brightness over 1,000 nits, but Dr. Soneira explains that the Note 8 can produce up to 1,240 nits for only small portions of the screen area. For full screen brightness, the Note 8 can produce up to 560 nits with automatic brightness compared to the iPhone X full screen at 634 nits.”

One more time since you like to source Displaymate.

And now Samsung once again flexes it's world dominating display tech in the S9, and tops the charts... again.
