At the risk of doing the "640K ought to be enough for anyone" thing, why would anyone need 12GB of RAM on a smartphone? I get that Android might be a bit less efficient and Samsung will likely load it up with bloatware but still. That's an awful lot of RAM for a pocket device that's not doing to be doing heavy graphics work.

Sure, they said similar things about the automobile and iPhone. Truth is, Samsung is the new innovator. Tim And Jon Boy are out of ideas in the space.

We all know Tim Cook couldn't cook up a idea to save his face unless its increasing device and service prices to increase profit margins..............the last thing on Apple's mind is true innovation.

Let's leave the price aside for a moment. First, perfect score for trying and innovating. Now, Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please, but what's all that empty space on the top and the bottom of the phone when in "phone mode"? I didn't like that. I think the tablet mode looks great, but the phone part looks too thick.
The part where he puts three apps on screen looks exactly the same as Apple's slide over on iOS 9. I don't know if that was in Android already, again, correct me, please.
The concept itself doesn't convince me, I don't think I'd get it regardless of the price. Kind of like those two-in-one computers, I wouldn't buy one. I think a phone and a tablet would do their jobs better separately.
Again, cheers to Samsung for trying.

You do realize that the base model Fold has the same storage capacity as the maxed out XS Max, right? It’s the only accurate comparison.

But really it's a forced comparison like those silly comparisons between the little iphone X and the Galaxy Note when it should have been compared to the S. Even more so here as Fold is a new form factor.

They took great care to hide the fact that there is a visible bend /dent in the screen when open in the demos but you could clearly see it when DJ Koh whipped his out of his pocket. Nice idea but that would drive me nuts and fek going back to a plastic screen.

How many folds/unfolds before the screen start showing problems?
I would have to imagine that Samsung would’ve only started production if the answer was acceptable. In other words, similar to longevity of a regular display or as long as people typically keep their phones, 2-3 years. Of course, with this being the first mass-produced example, only time will tell if Samsung made the right call.

The CEO isn’t generally the one tasked with imagining new design concepts, FYI.

Never said he was...i said a idea....i did not reference anything towards it lol
“We all know Tim Cook couldn't cook up a idea to save his face“

So you were intending your statement to be meaningless when you wrote it? Just getting in as many Tim Cook digs as possible any time you see an opportunity?

It is going to be loaded TF with analytics so Google can learn from early usage. And probably inside virtual JM’s again. It’s bloody horrendous to need that much RAM, quite why they’d brag is anyone’s guess.

Wake up Cupertino. Let them beancounters go, and hire some real innovators with a real driving force and passion again.

It’s still a little too early for this type of a device. Battery technology needs to evolve and get much thinner (with today’s capacity) to make devices like this more attractive.

Can't innovate my ass!! o wait.. what........

Tim is still the best, awesome, innovative CEO ever.. just look at stock value.. o wait what.....

What about durability in terms of a drop? It's not like you can put it in a case since that would defeat the purpose of folding it. Is it durable enough to withstand a drop from standing chest height? I'd like to see how it functions after some drops or a dunk on water.
