4.6 inches is not tiny.

Somehow my iPhone SE is perfectly usable despite being smaller than that.
It is tiny, you have 4.6” and a lot bezels around ..maybe in 2-3 generations we will have scren to body ratio of 70%

I think this will be very interesting. If you are writing sms etc. just use it as a the smartphone. If you want to browse the web, watch youtube videos etc. just open it an there you go.

so this like the surface pro that is more used as a laptop, this will be more of an tablet used device

The iPhone X was great. The problem is that the XS didn’t improve upon it in a significant way and Apple knows this which is why they refused to sell it against the X for a $100 less.

When Apple has delivered a significant upgrade in the past they’ve always kept the previous flagship on the market. The only other I can think of is the iPhone 5 when the 5S released. TouchID was the main selling point and most would’ve taken the year old 5 with the same chassis. Thus why the released the 5C with the same guts in a cheap chassis.

The iPhone X was very good in terms of its hardware, however the software was not on par, still isn't.
There are so many issues with it. Why can I not have important icons (like do not disturb etc.) on top of the screen? Mostly, the space is empty anyways.
And about the screenshot issue I do not even want to talk about. Too many flaws with this phone

A foldable phone with this design and price, I can't understand what it solves better than having a phone and a mini tablet of 1000 each.

I think it means that its still a prototype or something. Good for marketing purposes.

PS: To look innovative and cool is relatively easy. Now, innovation that works is an entire different ball game of purpose and precision. I can't see the later in what was presented.

Frankly, I no longer need a "phone". I use my "phone" to access the Internet, to transact business, to listen to music / watch films, etc., a LOT more than I ever make phone calls on it.

As an all-in-one, smart device, I think this is where the future is headed. I won't buy this thick a device (nor this expensive), but a few years from a now, a device about as thin as today's iPhones that folds up would be very attractive to me.

Same here, but it need to be in a much thinner form factor and better design. IMO it is ugly. I’m sure Apple has something cooking with a much more appealing design and functionality. But will see. Meanwhile this is ugly. But some Yuppies probably already drooling for it ;)

I really believe that Apple needed more time for the X but they were forced to release it early because Samsung beat them to the bezel less phone with the S8. They couldn’t afford to wait another year.

Despite a thousand bright spotlights in that auditorium, a stunning lack of charisma on that stage!

So, is it usual for Sammy to unveil a new product, and provide almost zero specs? Battery life?... errr.. “it’s got a lot of power”.. etc

Had to laugh.. “it’s easy to open Google Maps”... followed by three presses of the icon before it opens! Teething troubles with these new touch displays, perchance??
The thing is..... the Apps. Ever going right back to one of Androids biggest problems. Those stretched out phone Apps. When he opened Google Maps from the phone version to the tablet version, it was th exact some app interface, just stretched out. Competition wise, there handing this whole category to Apple if they make a foldable device. Apples the only manufacturer that has actual tablet optimized apps.

Apple probably had the same idea but there design was not "thin enough"

A good point, but they could have improved that phone so much by just improving iOS. I never cared about the notch, just adapt the software accordingly. I want options, not just restrictions

Too heavy.
[doublepost=1550699626][/doublepost]Why would you buy this? You can't put in your pocket and it is not a good tablet.
[doublepost=1550699664][/doublepost]I have to praise Apple for making things that are right, not for the sake of being first.

Thinking this is the best for 2019 from samsung..Apple has the upper hand if they are serious with iOs13 and macos
with new mac pro Imacs and 6k display, with the bew 16.5” Mbp etc,if all of these are done right, apple will put a big shadow all over the rest
