Thinking that is the best for 2019 for samsung..Apple has the upper hand if they are serious with iOs13 and macos
With new mac pro and 6k display, with the bew 16.5” Mbp etc,if all of these are done great, apple will put a big shadow all over the rest

Well, the Mac Pro is very far away. And it has to be seen what modular means for Apple.
The 16" Macbook Pro remains a rumor until unveiled. Apple did not reveal a real pro notebook for a very long time.
Apple does not offer anything in the Pro sector right now so they are forced to do something. At least a unit which is capable to cool the CPU's inside would be great

Silicon valley and other companies need to stop making products people don't want. Gosh.

Out of the reality, made for marketing.

It looks astonishing. This is absolutely the future of phones. Apple not having control of its display technology is turning into a major weakness.

It also makes the iPhone XS look reasonably priced in comparison!

This is exactly why I don't like/trust Samsung. Often they are the first to come out with things but they do it too early and therefore don't stand behind their products. They made several 'smart watches' before the Apple Watch but basically abandoned them. Any person who buys this phone will also be abandoned. Especially when Apple waits for the technology to mature a bit more and makes a refined version of a foldable phone.

I personally liked the idea of Razor reviving it's flip phone. You could have a decent sized phone when open but small in your pocket. This Samsung thing looks too big.

So for that price, why don't you just buy an iPhone and an iPad? best of both worlds right there and they are both designed perfectly with a specific focus in mind. This? Weird little narrow phone that opens to be..."kind of a tablet"?

It's nice but will be dead on arrival at those prices. They need to cut the price in half.
its for a very very very small segment of enthusiasts. not for me or you. wonder what the sales numbers would be after a year

So wrong and bad facts on so many levels.

I will admit it is an impressive device and very cool technology. For me though, the phone is too thick and could care less about more screen. The price is incredibly high so I guess all those Samsungites who shame Apple for being priced too high won't be purchasing this Fold phone anytime soon.

That's the magic here..

If you can combine your tablet and phone usage (and expenditures) into one single device, the price is a total non factor.

There's a market here.
This is an early look at the future of devices if you ask me.

Wait until this concept is refined a couple times and perhaps even Apple does one and I think this will explode.

That's just the hardware side.

As software marches on, these may end up being our ONLY devices (save for super high end creative work) that just connect to docks/monitors/keyboards as needed, at workstations, homes, etc

Doesn’t look that bad, especially for a 1st gen device.

I assume that the main screen is plastic? If it is it’ll scratch up quickly.

great... apple will use this to justify an iphone at that price
No, Apple will claim that’s how much it costs to manufacture them with all of improvements and “ancillary costs” included. Just add $500-1000 and you’ll have some idea what your credit card statement will have to say.

That's innovation. It looks amazing.
“Can’t innovate my a##”

That’s pretty amazing technology. It’s expensive but it’s a first generation product. Looking forward to future copying by Apple. I’ll upgrade to my next iPhone when it also folds in a few years.

Wow. Sorta makes Apple's prices look like bargain basement now. Samsung really DID borrow from Apple's playbook. Kudos though to the first 'is it a phone or is it a tablet, it's both!' device. I am sure its going to appeal to some folks. Seems a tad thick though to be easy to carry, ' Is that a Galaxy Fold in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?'
Yah that’s what I was thinking. Thick but it’s a first gen product. 3-4th generation will be thing
