Loving the iridescent color and the look of the Note 10 in terms of the front screen and back camera, but I prefer the rounded corners of the iPhone.

If they wanted to the cops could hold the phone to a persons face while they were handcuffed, then swipe up.
By the same token with Touch ID they could force you. Sure your rights are violated but by the time you see your lawyer and that’s known, the cops have their info from your phone. You could also set attention aware off.

I really like the hardware that's being released by Apple's competitors - cutting edge, beautiful designs and really nice in the hand, but the biggest downfall for me is Android...I just don't like it or trust it.
The walled-garden really suits me and I love it's familiarity, despite the gradual changes introduced over the years.

My ultimate phone would probably be a combo of a flagship Android phone running iOS

Samsung no longer copies Apple - they now copy Huawei. As an Apple investor, should one be relieved or concerned?
Samsung never copied/copies Huawei. Samsung has been in the game for far longer than Huawei. Its Huawei coping Samsung. Samsung doesn't NEED to copy Huawei. It's done well with or without Huawei's contribution to the mobile industry. Note 10 = 10 iterations, Galaxy series 10 iterations...etc etc. Huawei's only feature that was new to the industry was the third camera. Thats it. But you know what, Apple was the first one to do an additional camera at all in the 7 plus. So Huawei copied Apple's idea of the two camera phones and added another. Huawai is just another attempt to become the next Samsung which it never will. Because it's Huawei.

I don't know what's up with the comments here but this phone here by Samsung is far, far superior than what Huawei can/will ever put out. Its just way more refined and focused, it doesn't feel like a copy of anything. Its just so original it looks like a Samsung product. Huawei's flagship looking like a Vivo or Oppo or whatever low end Chinese brand it is. Cheap and low quality as expected from Chinese companies.

Infinity display, hole punch cutout, curved edges, edge to edge screen, best display in the world. Huawei's flagship looking like its from 2016. People who think ANYONE is copying Huawei is incorrect, the only thing they ever did was add another camera where Apple started the trend with the 7 plus. They just added an additional camera. Thats it. No advance tech required.

Its Apple or Samsung. Huawei doesn't even fit in this picture when it comes to tech race. I try to be objective as possible but Samsung products are just superior plain and simple. I can take tech from Samsung seriously, I can admire them. But Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, etc etc those budget companies I just cannot take them seriously. Maybe its to do with them copying and stealing all the time as regular business practices. Or the fact that anything "new" they do already exists or the truth is in fact, they are low end company dressed as high tech companies begging to be taken seriously.

Still the original king of phablets but for Note enthusiasts Samsung needs to expand on DeX and add Windows on ARM so it can be used as a laptop substitute along with Linux on ARM. 3.5mm audio jack removal wouldn't be the first false rumor as they've said the same thing about previous models that turned out to false. That would be a dumb move anyhow since I actively it for things such as running software and making bootable disks on the Apple IIe over 3.5mm audio port.

The pics of the actual device in the FCC file clearly show the headphone jack is no longer there.

Still no FaceID? What's taking Samsung so long?
Bru, you mean what's taking Apple so long with under screen TouchID? Samsung ain't trying to copy that. Huawei did, though.

What is an "Official" Leaked image?

The headline should have read leaked "official" images. These aren't officially leaked, lol. I'm sure they'll fix it.

Did not we learn just yesterday that Apple is going to abandon Face ID in 2021? Why would Samsung be interested in the failed concept? We are hearing that Apple is going to copy Samsung by using under-the-screen fingerprint sensor.

That was the opinion of a single analyst, quoted in a Chinese rumor article. You should read it, it’s entertaining.

FaceID isn’t going anywhere. Google is going to incorporate their version of it into Android Q. Maybe once the next Pixel has FaceID, Samsung will finally follow suit?

And you actually believe them?

Face ID is here to stay, whether you like it or not.

Touch ID and Face ID are both secure. But according to Apple there is a 1 in 50,000 chance that someone else’s fingerprint will falsely unlock your iPhone and a 1 in 1,000,000 chance that someone else’s face will do it. So it’s not about me or you, but about facts and technology - so Face ID clearly is superior.
Well there are a 1,000,000 combinations of a 6 digit pin, so on that basis it’s as secure as Face ID; I still prefer Touch ID over both.

Note 10 is huge for artists. Pressure & tilt sensitive stylus conveniently stored in the phone and no need to charge anything. I am a big fan of curved screen as it looks futuristic but it's not for everyone.

Android sucks big time though. It's still a buggy and laggy hot mess even in 2019. Slap some Samsung skin on it for that juicy duplicate apps for some extra garbage experience.

Regarding split screen multitasking, yeah no... it's nothing but a gimmick. Hell even 11'' iPad screen is still too small for any proper split screen multitasking.

The choice is yours: either a boring safe phone with functional OS or a nice looking device with **** OS.

You are correct Apples previous fingerprint sensor is inferior and less secure to its new face id sensor but that does not make face id unilaterally superior.

Apple could of made the finger print sensor more accurate/secure but their design choice was based on many factors

Additional it's likely the so called stats you see 50k-1 vs 1M-1 are based on random probability and not representative probability factors where the face Id stats would be considerably less if not worse than even the inferior previous sensor

As ever this is Apple marketing spin that lacks specifics so can easily be miss quoted or extrapolated out of context

I think they're realizing that Apple users tend to stay Apple users, and they're VERY unlikely to switch, so they're marketing towards Android users, copying other Android phone designs and so on.

This makes a lot of sense in my mind; my Android-using friends tend to not stay on a certain phone brand for long; I know one person who went from Samsung to LG to OneTouch within a three year period. Their loyalty tends to be to Android itself, not phone makers...Whereas us Apple users tend to be loyal to Apple.
[doublepost=1562888633][/doublepost]Anyone else utterly DESPISE the "hole punch" screen?

I'm not a big fan of the notch either, but at least it looks like part of a high-tech product; well proportioned in size and location. The hole punch looks like someone literally took a hole puncher to the screen, or like a piece of art that was previously nailed on the wall. It's just so incredibly ugly to me; give me the notch over that ANY day.

Yes but android / linux is not bad these days. Pen support on a large phone is great - works well with Onenote - may be that is all what a lazy student needs.
Ok, so, let’s pretend that I don’t care about security, privacy, attention to details, several years of free updates and customer support. How would I use the best 2 wearable devices then? The AirPods and Apple Watch.

I mean you see your logic? Why didn't you just stop at "how do I use the phone, the iPhone, without an iPhone?" I don't want to butt in, but you sound like Trump.

AirPods will work with limited featyres (mostly the first time pairing ease, other features can be replaced with apps). Apple Watch will not work.

It is true that if a user desires the Apple Watch, they must own an iPhone.

This is exactly why Apple is Apple and why they can milk consumers and be the most profitable. Tim Cook is a businessman. It's the same reason Apple holds off on established tech (e.g wireless charging, fast charging, reverse wireless, 3g, 5g, MMS, file system/files, etc.)- they have to give you a reason to upgrade and spend more money. They haven't been the best at getting people to upgrade recently... good for consumers, bad for AAPL. But I believe in Cook!

Well, seems you decide of either having a chin and less secure finger print sensor, or a notch and Face ID. I chose the latter.

Not too sure if your saying that Face Id is more secure than a finger print senor, like do you mean it would be better than Touch ID?

ALSO,

Whenever I read someone say that Face ID is more secure than Touch ID is completely not thinking correctly. If you have a twin they can potentially unlock the device even the XS and XR too is not twin proof. Now it is known that even twins don't have the same fingerprint. No one does so tell me then which is more secure?

Here is the Dolan twins unlocking the iPhone with Face ID.

Samsung hasn’t been a threat to Apple in a long time.

Yeah, I wish they'd be symmetrical, but I'm curious- is the iPhone Xs chin bigger or smaller than the Note 10? The Xs obviously has symmetrical bezels, but I still wonder if the biggest bezel on the Note 10 (the chin) is smaller than the the Xs bezels?
The difference is between 1 and 1.5mm so very very small.
Note 10's side bezels are much smaller and that's why the chin looks bigger.
