It took Samsung 8 years to make the front of their phones attractive. Perhaps they'll need another 8 years to figure out the back.

How can you talk about anyones back when the iphone will have that ugly vertical camera hump on the back and its ugly on every color. At least the note 8 has a black version that completely blends the back and its more gorgeous than any iphone 8 back.....furthermore the note 8 has a flushed camera...no one wants a buffalo hump.

Agree! iPhone needs to get rid of the camera bump

I don't see the problem with a camera which slightly protrudes...

With the galaxy series of phones they have an ugly slightly protruding centrepiece. I know which one I'd choose.
The camera and fingerprint sensors on the Samsung are flush. There is no protrusion at all.
Looks like it in pics, but pick one up and lay it on a table. It's flat.

If you're going to compare camera locations & bumps, the best comparison would be,
"Which one are you most likely to accidentally put your hand over?" :D
That's easy... the iPhone.
Never liked cameras located on corners.
Don't know how many times I went to take a landscape shot with my 6s+ and accidentally covered the camera with my finger.

... Comparing a non-functional mock-up, that we don't even know if for sure is the finalized chassis design?
I actually thought it was an interesting comparison to give us an idea of what we could possibly see. It's a rumors site, so in the lead-up to the actual reveal and the actual news articles based in reality that we will eventually be seeing, this isn't such a bad little video. It is purely speculative and doesn't pretend to be otherwise.

The dummy model used here looks a bit rough around the camera. While it's possible the camera module will protrude quite a bit, I can't imagine it will look as rough and poorly finished as the one shown. It's wise for people to use this video as a rough guide and nothing more. I certainly wouldn't base a purchasing decision on it.

Yep, just like the s8 and s8 plus.

In fact this is a problem, because the fingerprint sensor is in that area. So you put fingerprints on the camera lens trying for find the fingerprint sensor. I put a case on my S8 and that fixes the issue because I can feel the edge where they cut into the case to allow access to the sensor. Of course, you can just use face detection or retinal scan to unlock if you don't want to deal with the fingerprint sensor.

The Note 8 is a great piece of hardware, but the iOS experience sells me over Android any day. The Hardware euphoria eventually wears off, it eventually comes down the software experience.
Actually, I'm the opposite. Hardware is the constant that sells me, the OS keeps moving and getting worse. My 6+ gets slower and slower after every update. Apple nag dialogs all but force you into updating (ie. update auto-downloads and consumes memory whether you want it or not). Looking forward to the Note 8.

Protruding camera is getting out of hand Apple, it's ugly as hell.

I will always believe the iPhone camera bump is something SJ never would've never signed off on, and naked iPhone 6 and up models don't have much of an "old Leica camera" look like the iPhone 4 design (still the best iPhone design).

That being said, I never see naked iPhones in the wild anymore. I thought the camera bump on my 6s would bother me like crazy, but after finding a really nice looking Incipio case, I don't even notice it.

If you did your research, the fingerprint sensor is now separated by the flash unlike the S8 and has better borders around it so you can feel where you are with your placement unlike the S8. It has definitely improved after I tried it at best buy. You will not touch your camera lens because of the new improvements.
