Samsung got something right when they decided to make the front black regardless of the color, also no ugly camera bulge.
Sadly they busted the design with the silly curved screen.

... Comparing a non-functional mock-up, that we don't even know if for sure is the finalized chassis design?

Yeah, let’s compare with the iPhone 7 dummy...

Indistinguishable from the real thing! It has an Apple logo and all!!!

The curved screen is actually excellent. No problems and seems more immersive when viewing based on real world experience. There is nothing wrong with what's considered the best display in the mobile industry.

If you did your research, the fingerprint sensor is now separated by the flash unlike the S8 and has better borders around it so you can feel where you are with your placement unlike the S8. It has definitely improved after I tried it at best buy. You will not touch your camera lens because of the new improvements.

Glad to hear they moved the sensor.

Not really the case when typing or, even worse, using the Note 8 stylus. Also makes the phone really frail, I guess.
I'm not even an iPhone fanboy. In fact I just chose an LG G6 over the S8 2 days ago.
P.S. The best display rating refers to the OLED panel quality itself, not the curved design.

Because you already tested the Note 8 and know how it performs right? Idk why majority of iOS users are so close minded.

So you're assuming that I haven't tested the android platform because I didn't comment on that specifically? Perhaps ask before you assume. It has nothing to do with "testing it", as I was an android user before. Its strictly preference between both platforms. iOS is my chosen platform.

I don't see the problem with a camera which slightly protrudes...

With the galaxy series of phones they have an ugly slightly protruding centrepiece. I know which one I'd choose.

On here people will always have something to complain about. If they flush the camera, they'll find something else to complain about.

Well, there are millions of others who feel differently and the device is not frail at all. Im sure most people use a case so use one.

I think it just comes down to OS preference. Unless they move on from Android at some point?
It would be interesting to see their Tizen OS on a Note.
The biggest issue would be app compatibility though.
Tizen is based on AOSP, but Samsung tweaked it enough to not be compatible with Android apps.

I like Tizen OS on the Gear S2 better than AW on my Moto 360 (Second Gen).
It's more power efficient, I get about 2-3 days on a single charge (got 4 days once). I was lucky to get through a day, day and a half max on the Moto 360.
I think the feature set was better as well.

Protruding camera is getting out of hand Apple, it's ugly as hell.

The camera sticking out is really ugly, but we'l just have to accept it again. (or buy a case)

My god. The camera bump is just getting ridiculous at this point. Apple really needs to move on from that hideous thing.

I prefer the iPhone to be a bit thicker so that we don't have this bump, but, it can be much worse, look at you Samsung Galaxy.

Good comparison, in that it is really hard to decide which one is more hideous.

Samsung by far.

The Note 8 looks better from the front

No.

Note 8 has a really ugly back.

People complain about the new the iPhone .... that Samsung is a monstrosity.

It's funny, even the iPhone dummy beats the Samsung..

Exactly.

Funny to see so many complaints about the camera sticking out a bit. Seems we have some that care far far far more about what their phone looks like than how it functions.

I bet these same people put a case on it that sticks out far further than the camera.
Yeah for some how a phone looks is all about status evidently ;(
In 10 years of iPhones I've never had a cracked screen or any of that because I always use cases.
So these people are going to buy an $1100 piece of kit and not use a case? Heh good luck with that! :)

Indeed. I was a long time iOS user, and I moved to Android last year, and I've grown to appreciate a lot of the really great things that Android does better, and those things are more important to me. (Customizability without jailbreaking, MUCH better notifications, navigation through the OS with most things placed low, where my thumb can much more easily reach, the ability to change default apps). While my wife has no desire to do any of those things, and simply wants a fast, fluid interface. The better service from Apple is also a big plus compared to most Android manufacturers (it's better than them all I'd say, but way better than some).

Frankly, after now having extensive experience with both platforms: there really isn't a whole lot that one can do that the other can't. There are some things here and there, but overall, they're very close. iOS is a bit more polished (though non-touch-wiz Android is also pretty darn good in that department), and Android is more flexible, but they're really not far apart at all. I think a lot of people tried Android a few years ago when it was a janky mess, and they still assume that's what it's like, or they've only used certain brands that totally clutter up the OS with their own bloatware. Likewise, I think a lot of long-term Android users think iOS is stuck in the past with a ton of limitations, which certainly isn't the case any more.

It performs well! Hardware feels good and android runs well on it even making gifs with the s-pen running 2 apps at the same time. Personally I prefer iOS over android any day. Even if it can do a lot more than my 7 plus and do it faster

The iphone 8 is not even in the same category of the Note 8. Its competing with the S8. Until Apple gets a phone with a smart stylus....the note 8 is in its own unique category so this comparison is Void imo. The S8 series will always outsell the note series since its the true flagship while the Note series is more for enthusiast.

Did I say Android, or did I say the Note 8? Im pretty sure 6GB of ram will make a difference from any other phone running Android.
