Only thing Apple is falling behind is OLED Display.
Problem for Apple in switching to OLED is there is no manufacturing capacity available to make enough OLED displays.
Unlike other companies Apple makes 2 models & sells a lot of them, Samsung is using OLED display only in few models not all the models they make.
All other hardware Apple is still ahead of their competition.

Is the concern with cost or innovation ?
It's with using cost to give the impression of a luxury brand. You're selling desktop machines and mobile phones, not luxury items.

********.
1. There will still be the non 8/Anniversary phones.
2. The iMac Pro is a niche market product. But it's powerful and some people will like it in an all-in-one enclosure.
3. The HomePod is NOT an amazon competitor. It's a good speaker that will have Amazon Echo capabilities. We don't even have any details on the product.

See the trend here (cough, cough, cough).
I can see I cant win from your user name. However nothing I posted is incorrect.

Isn't OnePlus currently in the news for their phones being unable to dial 911?

More isn't always better, especially when I am not necessarily getting more of what I want, but instead being saddled with more issues that I need to contend with.

My iPhone just got iOS 10.3.3. It pairs to my Apple Watch, easily the best wearable in the market right now, and my Airpods. iOS 11 will bring ARkit. It integrates with all my other Apple products seamlessly.

Where's the android equivalent again?

Don't worry about us. I am a happy user of Apple products and see myself continuing to use Apple products for a good long time to come.

It never fails to amuse me. I have no issues with what phones other people choose to use, yet other people seem to have loads of issues with my choice of smartphone.

Insecure much?

Well, seems like you have defined those diehard fans I am talking about. Everything you have is an Apple product which you paid a high premium for.

And you seem to think that there are no equivalents to what apple has or nothing is better than apple ecosystem. Which btw fit into the profile I referred to. :)

I read some of your posts and your history and i really wonder why you are waisting your time posting on macrumors forums/apple based fansite.

You definitely don' t like apple or use iphones.

I am not saying that you can' t post over here, i am just interested why. What is your goal?

I don't think so. I know so.

My Apple products may have cost more upfront, but they have more than paid for themselves in the form of better productivity and fewer problems overall. Before I got my first Mac in 2011, I was a windows user for 16 years. I think I am qualified to decide what works for me and what doesn't.

I challenge you to prove me wrong and enlighten me on how I can replicate the same integrated ecosystem using non-Apple products.

I won't be holding my breath.

I agree OSX increases productivity for me too, its a great OS. However the iPhone and iOS with its simple locked down nature does the very opposite for me. Android acts more like a normal computer then iOS ever could and that increases productivity for me and many others even if it is slightly less optimised.

Tell me how you mirror your phone to your TV without an Apple TV or LAN. Or plug your phone in USB and transfer files in and out. Or dock your phone use it like a PC. Or have stand alone watch with LTE and SIM. Or use your phone with a VR headset. Or use sidesync remote desktop to your phone on any non proprietary PC. Or use Samsung pay that works with magnetic strips. Or use Samsung Connect to manage Samsung appliances/audio visual/connected home.

Do I need to go on?

Simple thing, make a video call without installing any software and reach hundreds of millions of people and not have them install any software? Or have a fully supported device for 5 years? That dead horse is rolling over.

Your hundred of millions is just 15% of everyone. Big fail there.

And you can use all this " great" integration on an apple based fansite too, even if you just don' t like apple. What is the point?

Buying an inferor lcd tv compared to a lg oled, just to make it work with your samsung phone?
Or have a tv and smatwatch with tizen that has terrible security? It has about a million security issues.
You can shove your galaxy phone into a placeholder , so you can put it in front of your face, etc.
Connecting it to your pc? And exchange files?
Why use a cable? Etc.
Use it as a half baked pc? Using a dock? Dies it run full fledged windows? Or perhaps macos? No?
All sounds great...

You can tell i am not a fan of samsung.
But i am posting this on an apple based fansite, i am not choosing to pick a fight on a samsung/android fansite, saying all samsung users are dumb, arrogant, sheep, etc.

Why would i do that? Hoping to convert and convince people? Or just bashing because you have too much free time and you are bored?

80% of industry profits. Big win there. How is Samsung mobile division doing as compared to Apple.

Samsung really doesn' t tell in its conference calls.
They are great at making hardware parts, displays, nand, etc.
They are terrible at making os' es, software, services, etc. Great at hardware, suck at making a real platform or designing their own socs.
I would not know why i should get a galaxy s8 over a much cheaper huaweij, except for the great display and camera.
I can use the same apps, features, speed,Ecosystem(android) etc for half the price.

You can, but you would simply be missing the point.

I already have Apple TVs at home, and you will not be mirroring your android phone to the smart boards in my school or the dumb televisions in my home without an equivalent device anyways.

I use airdrop to pass files around my Apple devices, so I rarely ever plug them in to my computer.

Why would I dock my phone to get a substandard PC when I already have an iMac at home and a MacBook Air for work?

My watch is rarely ever away from my phone.

I am not into VR.

I have no idea what Remote Desktop is, but chances safe, I don't need it or it can be replicated in the Apple ecosystem somehow.

Apple Pay is already supported at the stores I frequent.

I have no Samsung appliances at home.

All the examples you just cited are useless to me. That's why I use Apple products, not Samsung products, because the former work for me, while the latter don't.

So what is the conclusion? Your apple systems can do something. So can others.

Apple products do not work for me. Why? Because I live in the real world not an Apple world. Outside your apple world, your products don't work or work well with others.

You don' t live in an apple world? You live in an anti-apple world and you are very pasionate about that though.
So apple is definitely a part of your life und defines how you use your spare time.
These posts prove it.

80% of industry profits. Big win there. How is Samsung mobile division doing as compared to Apple phone sales. How about watch sales compared to Apple watch? Or tablet sales?

80% of profits made from 15% of the users. Makes me pity these 15% as they have to carry such disproportionate (monetary) burden.

We are talking products here (aka apple ecosystem). Not sure why you see fit to take it out of context. Is it you can't find any rebuttal?

That we each choose the products that best suit our needs. I really couldn't care less what product you use. I am simply amazed people can simply waltz in and crap on my choice of device without even bothering to know my needs or what I want my hardware to do.

Except they do.

I am a primary school teacher (mostly handling 11-12 year old kids).

I use my 9.7" iPad Pro to teach in the classroom, which is mirrored to the smart board via an Apple TV (3rd gen for the peer to peer AirPlay capabilities). Do you think I care that the iPad lacks mouse support when I am walking around the classroom with it?

I have an 11" MBA for tasks that require a PC. I do have work issued windows laptop, but that thing is locked down as hell, and I appreciate the added functionality of macOS and third party apps. There's something called Dropbox and thumbdrives when I need to transfer files around.

At home, I just upgraded my 2011 27" iMac to a new 5k iMac. I deal with a fair amount of spreadsheets and documents, all the more this term as I have to plan relief duties, and a larger screen just makes viewing content that much easier.

Also have a 4th gen ATV for entertainment.

All tied together with iCloud. I have no issues with playing well with others. I can cognisant of the strengths and limitations of my chosen platform and can adapted my workflows accordingly.

Your energies are better spent worrying about Bixby than about whether I have overpaid for my Apple devices or not.

Don't worry about those users they will be fine. Comparing manufacturers to manufacturers instead of ios to android tells a different story, which is why Apple gets 80% of the profits.

No, i don' t want to argue with you.
I don' t see the point.
Both platforms have their advantages and downfalls. It is up to us to make a choice.
I just don' t see the point of you going to war on an apple based fansite about samsung being superior , and bashing apple fans on an apple based fansite.
That is all.
I don' t have the urge to go to a samsung/android based fansite and bash them.
Why would i do that? It would just give the impresion that i am arrogant. And i don' t see how that could serve a higher cause, or what the advantages are for me.
I would only post there if i were a real fan , to say how great a product is or to give feedback how to make a product better, because i would care....
But i guess, each has his own ways to fill their private time. And of course, you are free to post here, it is a free forum.
But i am sincerely curious why...

Can I ask why you are posting in a thread about the Samsung Note 8 if Apple products are all you like and care about? How about you take your own advise and post some positive comments in an Apple device thread instead? Some users on this site actually uses Apple products as well as its competitors, I know this may come as a shock to you.

The poster didn't just post this out of the blue. Seems typical done anti-Apple inflammatory comments are posted starting this nonsense. Note 8 will be great and if that's your cup of tea have at it.

A lot of what you post is not correct either, it's just your opinion.
