When did Samsung start prototyping S8?Apple already know what the iPhone 8 will entail and have done for years. They're already prototyping iPhone 9 and 10.

Yep, sure. That's why the iPhone 7 has the same look as their three year old iPhone 6. That's why they're losing market share rapidly and will be the last phonemaker on the market with an Amoled screen. When their world wide share will dip below the double digits I'm wondering if developers will release or develop for iPhone first. Or release software for the iPhone at all. Apple is famous in bragging about how many customers are updating to the latest iOS compared to android. Compared to devices sold running the latest version android of android and iOS that chart looks completely different in favor of android. Every month it will get harder for Apple.LOL.
Just because they're first to market doesn't mean they came up with it first.

Apple won this race. With their hands tied behind their backs.
I don't know where Apple is focusing on the last 4 years. Everyone says Apple is focusing on mobile first and I could agree with that if their mobile devices were cutting edge.
LOL.

BAM!LOL, years of prototyping and yet the iPhone 7 is the same design as the iPhone 6.

Blah! I have a Nexus 6 in addition to my iPhone 6 Plus, and the Nexus 6 has some of the thinness bezels available. No issues holding that phone whatsoever. And I have BIG hands.I like bezels. We have to hold the phone and don't want to touch the screen. My leather cases lip over the screen anyway. The only way bezel-less screens will be cool is if the wrap around part doesn't display apps or photos and isn't touch sensitive. I do expect Apple to beat Sammy in execution. Putting touchscreen volume controls on the side or having text and images warp off the side of the screen is gimicky.
That's not a correct answer. When did Samsung start prototyping the S8?Right after the engineers finished putting out the Note 7 fires.
This is too funny, I'm loving this.
Because the outside of a phone means everything...
Of course devs will continue to create apps for iOS first. They're still doing it and will continue to do so. Why would you want to create apps for Android only? Need to be pretty desperate.

But IOS 10 isn't buggy, your experience don't appear to be the norm. Lag is the one problem I have with android. The performance for me simply isn't as good which is a damn shame as it's damn near perfect apart from these issues in terms of the product.
Just like everyone releases on the Amiga and Sega first? Time in the tech spotlight is brief...
WOT? These two consoles are ancient. Apple are still in the driving seat and will be for a long time. Get over it.
Unless you're 15 - in which case it's fine, you have zero life experience - you're being pretty daft about how tech leaders constantly peak and churn.
Apple peaked around 2012. It'll be an also-ran in 5 years. All this has happened before and will happen again.
This isn't a controversial view.
K den m9. I'm not wasting any more time with you. It won't get into your thick head.
Yes it is, stop denying it. I suppose the Bluetooth bugs with car infotainment systems reported on this site was a myth? Let alone the mess it is when using this website in my iPad Pro.
Hence my suggestion that MacRumors should change it's name.Because there is so much more news coming out of other companies than Apple these days. If it was only about Apple you could check this site once a year to know everything about Apple.

Urgh. You can see the difference. You can't see the individual pixels at normal viewing distance, but it's not about being able to see the individual pixels. The overall image looks better on a higher res display at the same distance regardless of whether you can see the pixels or not.
Even Apple admitted this when they went to "Retina HD"
Samsung's burning desire to beat Apple to the punch...
This is getting ridiculous coming a day after the rumor saying there's not going to a redesign for the 7s.
omg so this means that all phones will feature onscreen buttons? I really hate them and dont like them the way they are used right now.
S7 and S7 edge bezels are as slim as it gets, look at the pixel - thats NOT the way to go!
No? This always happens. Apple leaks come out and then companies rush to do it first. So does this mean Apple will copy Samsung now?
I did effectively give a nod to that at the end of my post. But it will become irrelevant when Apple bins the Mac anyway, so now is as good a time as any.
