A niche feature is supporting more payment terminals than any other phone/mobile payment system out there? I’m speechless lol.
Yeah because we see people paying with their Samsung everyday. Oh wait ...

Apples oled implementation is seriously ****ed up - find thread here about headaches caused by ****ed up pwm implementation...

Right, so you are calling what the video maker said is anecdotal. In this context, it's either he lied or to you the information is irrelevant. It's the same difference and very relevant to this conversation as memory has to be thrown in an android hardware to beat the highly optimized ios.
It was simply an account that he had issues when running the tests without any real details. If he had shown the flow leading up to the crashes, what apps were loading etc when he had the crashes, this would have been useful when seeing other videos or when operating the phone oneself.

When iPhone XS/Max was released it was rated to be the best display on the market.

You people are not even trying.
And the 3 XL(which has a Samsung screen) was the last phone they rated as the "Best Display". Quite interesting, wouldn't you agree?

Based on our extensive Lab Tests and Measurements the Pixel 3 XL receives a DisplayMate Best Smartphone Display Award earning DisplayMate’s highest ever Overall Display Assessment Grade of A+ by providing considerably better display performance than other competing Smartphones.

You are tying but you are failing.
Anyway the results for the S10+ will be published by Displaymate this Monday. I bet that it will beat all the other OLED displays that were tested before it no problem.

Another hyped Samsung that won’t be relevant by the middle of the year

These issues seemed to be big enough that he mentioned the instability and to me takes away from any supposed “speed” advantage shown with that use case.

Faceid - ok, smarthdr - nope inferior to what google is doing, airpods - yes, homepods - seriously? Aw - yes
Google doesn’t do smart hdr. Night mode is not smart hdr. And Apple doesn’t do night mode. HomePods, yes seriously just mention a few items. If others want to turn this into this innovation be that innovation...the field is open.

Some iPhone users here need to stop scaremongering about android security

Sure, right when Android can meet the bar that Apple set when comes to valuing the customers privacy and security far more than any other smart phone manufacturer on the market. See, that’s the thing I think You don’t you don’t understand, is that consumers care about their {privacy, data and security}, and Apple cares about those things too, as they have explicitly mentioned this, Android on the other hand, isn’t even close to what Apples standards are for encryption and security thresholds. That’s why I am disinterested in using the S10 or any other Android smart phone. Period.

Not really. Bottom line is this, android is not secure as Apple is with iOS. Nor do they value the stringency that Apple has in terms of encryption standards. I’m not saying android isn’t secure, but I don’t want to have any false modesty pretending like android is on the same level as Apple is either, which clearly others are aware they are not.

Pretending is good word. :)

All the banking/money transactions can be done on both Android and iOS. The world of money/business runs on both platforms equally.

If Android is so insecure like some here seems to paint, every bank would not even dare to have transactions and apps on Android.

Hence... "pretending" to think iOS is safer aptly describe some posts here. :p

Wouldn’t it be a given that any new phone would beat out any display released previously? This happens every year. The way I see it, all the screens we have on flagship phones are so good now that any differences are pretty minimal. Samsung makes that happen so good on them.

you do know that Samsung literally makes every single iPhone X, Xs and Xs+ display right?

it's literally Samsung's tech. The only customization Apple has is the LED layout to their own specification. but the very process of design, creation and manufacture of those displays is done by Samsung.

are you even trying?

Well yeah taking in consideration the wording in Displaymate's articles but I'm sure S10 screen will also convincingly win no problem when it comes to the test results(the numbers themselves), so color accuracy, viewing angles, contrast in direct sunlight, brightness, resolution, color shift, etc.
Samsung already quoted 2 of Displaymate's test results: highest color accuracy or any smartphone on the market and the highest peak brightness at 1200nits.

Yea that’s what I’m saying, I’m sure it will be rated as the best display. Then Apple will come out with an iPhone and that will be rated as the best display. Samsung has always had really nice vivid displays. I like them. I don’t mind Apple’s approach either, both great displays. I don’t think the differences are all that dramatic today, but you certainly have to give Samsung credit for making them.

I like this viewpoint and is a great takeaway.

we've hit a point of diminishing returns for high end displays (so far) that we're not seeing mssive incremental changes. The displays are colour accurate, bright with great contrast. we're literally talking about a 0.001 differential in quality here.

noobody with an X, Xs, Xs+, S9, S10, S8 should have any real complaints about the quality of their displays as they're essentially the same.

Yeah but it won't necessary score better overall.
When the S9 was named the best display by displaymate it beat the iPhone x at almost every single parameter while the Xs Max at best had half of the results in it's favor versus the Note 9.

Agreed. It’s kind of a wash in my eyes when it comes to anything hardware related today. We argue over such small differences and every phone is one upped, it’s to be expected. Software is more of a preference, and even that is becoming less and less of a difference today.
