At its Unpacked event, Samsung showed off its upcoming "Project Moohan" AR/VR headset, which is designed to compete with the Vision Pro. Some users might even mistake the headset for a Vision Pro, given the design similarities.

Samsung is developing the headset in collaboration with Google, and it will run Google's Android XR operating system. Google introduced Android XR late last year. Android XR and Samsung's headset will support being immersed in a virtual environment or staying present in the real world, similar to how Apple allows ‌Apple Vision Pro‌ users to adjust the Vision Pro immersion level by activating or shutting out the real world passthrough view provided by cameras.

The headset from Samsung will support Google features like Gemini, Google's AI assistant, providing access to device controls and insight into what the wearer is seeing. Samsung has described Project Moohan as "lightweight" and "ergonomically optimized" for "maximum comfort," but no details on weight are available yet.

Project Moohan will be the first headset designed for Android XR, and it is set to launch later in 2025.

Is there any law that Apple would be able to sue them cause this ain’t just copy cat inspiring but this is straight up identical and copying lol this is ridiculous

It’s been 1.5 years since the introduction and a year since the launch of the Vision Pro, yet Samsung still only has a non-working demo at their event. That’s not a good sign, they need to step up!
They’ll leapfrog Apple together with other brands with help of the open Android VR. Many developers will program for it instead of an uber expensive low volume closed AVP.

Like Android automotive vs CarPlay. Apple doesn’t stand a chance.

Of course it does - it's what they're good at lately 😂

Even the upcoming OneUI 7 looks eerily similar to, you guessed it, iOS.
Yes, it’s iOS 18 with all the bells and whistles actually working and available in all languages now 😉

It looks llike the Vision Pro? Seriously?

No this looks like every previous VR/AR headset Samsung has released over the past decade, long before Apple even talked about the Vision Pro. It actually shares many more design details with Microsoft's HoloLens too.

Djezus chist... get a grip.

They may have copied the AVP aesthetic, but they are smartly going to have it running a far more open and desirable to develop for OS
Are you a developer? Or have you ever developed for these platforms recently? Cause your comment most definitely tells me you never have as a developer I am. There’s nothing desirable as a developer to work with Android vs working with iOS. I will develop for any Apple platform any day before developing for any Android platform.. not to mention the revenue part..

Seriously? Android auto? Nobody cares about it. As a software engineer I prefer Apple tools for development a million times over. Have you ever developed for both platforms to have an opinion over it? Framework quality as well the software that comes out of the pipeline it’s exponentially better on Apple platforms than anything on Android.. that’s something I’m shocked has taken so long for Google to get right..

Huh? Android Auto and CarPlay have about the same adoption rate 91% vs 93%. Link But I've never met anyone say they wouldn't buy a car if it didn't have Android Auto, and so many say they wouldn't buy car if it didn't have CarPlay. The garden is strong.
