Oh yeah?

If you look closely at the schematics the with of this design is :

51.42 mm + 1.77 mm + 1.77 mm = 54,96 mm

iPhone 4S width is 58.6 mm

Something doesn't seem right here.

How wide is the bezel on the iPhone 4/4S, this one is 1.77 mm +0.35 -0.15

Edit : Or 1.43 + 0.05 -0.10

Hmm seems like I have to add the 1.43 mm and 1.77 mm to 54,96 mm

The total with then is 57,82 mm which is slightly less than the 58.6 mm from the 4S

Edge of mask to closest edge of Plastic 1.43 mm

Edge of mask to closest edge of Metal 1.77 mm

iPhone L(arge / long)

I immediately thought of this ...

one way for iPhone users to compensate!

I can see the scenes in an Apple Conference Room right now - Tim, Jony, Forstall, Schiller and the rest of them all laughing their heads off reading through these comments over a glass of whiskey, knowing what an amazing practical joke they've played on us all...

I hope, anyway...

I'm predicting we get a leak of the official unveiling presentation by the end of the week.

It's all part of Apple's new "doubling down on secrecy" campaign.

By the way, why do so many member of "MACRUMORS" complain when they post stories of "RUMORS"?:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

people are so gullible. apple goes to great length to create fake projects to even their own employees. just because it has some blueprint jumbo on there, doesn't make it any more real than a case.

People are always saying this, but somehow never show proof that "apple goes to great length to create fake projects".

Wonder what they will name it. 16:9 lends itself to the HD name, but HD is a defined term advertisers can only use for displays greater than 720p. I suppose they could get away with it if the iphone was "HD", not the display. There's also the pervasive "5" moniker. I think it will partly depend on what the SoC in there is too.

The new iPhone.

Personally I like this. I don't want my phone to be much bigger than it is right now. I have friends with android phones and some of their phones seem way too big.

I agree that once you get around the 4.5" mark they do seem awful big, but I have to say that at 4" I'm not sure Apple aimed high enough. The sweet spot, for me at least, seems to be the 4.2" - 4.3" range. That being said I'm tempted to add a S3 to my account once it's available in the US as a second phone with a larger display for times when the 4s seems too small for the task.

Tell people they are going to get a bigger screen by controlled leaks for months and they better deliver one. Would be silly to do otherwise (Although lets be honest all the rumours didn't do them much damage last year.)

So I think it would only really make sense to leak like this if they are:
A) going to deliver a 16:9 phone but with a different design or
B) Keep the screen proportions the same and grow the whole phone

But like last year we might just be hoping too much. There was lots of evidence that there was no iphone5 but people clung onto the idea. The parts leaks have been the best indicator recently. These parts might be decoys/prototype or on the money. They are too detailed to be fakes in my opinion.

I'm with ya...A lot of people around here had very high hopes (including myself) on the iPhone 5 and once those new cases started to leak, it strengthed the hope. BUT look what happened with that. There were leaked diagrams, cases being manufactured, mock ups based on schmetics being drawn up, etc. And then wham...iPhone 4S.

I believe this to be a bit different though. This is HUGE launch for Apple and iPhone. Possibly the most meaningful lauch to date. To stretch the 4S, chop up the back into 3 sections, and use aluminum for a section on the back, isn't what people have in mind for a redesigned iPhone. And the rumors to come in as perfectly as they are, and so early is just suspicious to me.

This is going to be the Flagship device until at least 2014. Design wise, it's not cutting it for me. It's taking a giant step backwards. This form factor, while beautiful, is becoming outdated. People are getting tired of looking at it. It's time for something new. I am almost positive that what we are looking at in these photos, is an old prototype 4 or 4S. And Apple is doing an excellent job of leaking these things and letting the media do the rest. Come October, everyone is going to be shocked. Because this is NOT the New iPhone. No way. It's basically a 4S with a horrible paint job....I'm not falling for it. Not even a little bit.

They'll seem to big for about a week and then you'll look at an iPhone screen and think it looks dinky.

Making the screen taller is a complete waste of time. What's the point? Either increase the aspect ratio of the display or don't bother.

Doubt that Apple would hire someone stupid enough to take a photo of an easily traceable document and post it to the internet.

I just keep reading the same stuff that was said during iPhone 4 and 4S rumors. All the people that don't want to believe in it is just saying it is fake and trying to come up with justification for why it could be fake.

I bet this is the next iPhone and actually the case looks pretty. I bet they will have some nice internals to it and iOS6 to go along with it.

Sorry but I have a have a hard time believing Apple is intentionally leaking photos of an unfinished iPhone. For what purpose? Unless it's a fake and they're going to blow us away with the real thing?

Best yet, the 'band' opens up unique opportunities for featured elements.

Trust me, in most apps these "featured elements" will be permanent ads, at least for all those that only get a real content update every 2 years. The public is waiting for a bigger screen on the iPhone for almost 2 years now and all we get is a taller phone most apps can only use for "featured elements"?

You bet this is the next phone because? The two white phones we saw had different colors on the back - one had a black logo and raised lettering, the other didn't. With the black phone you could barely even see the logo or lettering (no I don't think it was just bad lighting). None of these phones looked like a finished product; way to rough around the edges. Maybe it's an unfinished prototype but no way do I believe it's the final design.

Or they're real images, and they want to give time for all the nay-sayers to cool off and learn to love it :)

(Remember all the initial hate for the iPhone 4.)

Funny people still think its fake. Reminds me of the lost iPhone 4. Literally had the completed device in someones hands and still get this stuff. People just really hate change.

I still don't believe it to be a real iPhone. Has there ever been an iPod with a user replaceable battery? Just that alone makes me seriously question it...

Ugh, the case looks ugly. I sincerely hope thats some sort of prototype/engineering case used for testing...

My favorites:

Has anyone thought of the possibility that some geek, who had nothing better to do made this thing himself and is now posing it as the next gen iphone? Um no, not judging from the comments I have read. It's also quit possible the same geek took pictures of the thing and released them to appear as though it was some sort of leak. Quit funny that it can't power up...maybe that's because it's a fraud. Can't help but to have my doubts.

There is absolutely no possible way this is 4. Apple would not allow such a weak piece of industrial design sport their elite marquee. Jesus ****ing christ, it is understood to be stored predominantly in pocket, that's why its smooth, weathered shape has been become more so through the two generations. That thing looks like it was born by Zenith. Jesus ****ing christ.

How could Macrumors.com, my favoritest website ever, publish 3 sequential main page articles about this obviously fictitious farce on my lazy Sunday? Oh wait… Hold on… Pretty clear here; because they are a tool of Apple inc, ya know, by giving Mr. Kim "candy." Propagating this silliness is in big fruits best interest, as the real one might better melt panties in comparison with this product design student at community college, hungover deadline throw-together. The eyelet ringing the headphone jack is an obvious Apple no-do. It's not a cassette WalkMan, right? Jesu…

Basic homo-sapien logic deduces as far as much that the new item will have a button on the side that shortcuts immediately to camera, or other assignable app of user choosing. Holding button will call up "photos." Everybody knows that - even elderly, possibly out of touch, technology columnists for a prominent southern Manhattan publication.

Have a good day.
