Hi! A few days ago I bought a leather case for the iPhone 13 Pro. The problem was that removing the case from the phone was very hard and it cost me a lot. When checking the steel frames I realized that it had a small scratch and I don't know if it was from removing the cover or if it was already from the factory that way.

I am aware that polished steel is very Icarus and with the passage of time small scratches will appear. Has something similar happened to someone else? Should I be concerned? It just annoys me because the phone is new but I guess it's inevitable ...

Thanks and best regards!

Funny few days ago i asked with those plastic frames that comes with screen protectors which are harder than the leather case can scratch the phone, and nobody confirmed that saying is hard to scratch the stainless steel even with those plastic frames, i really don't believe the case caused that

Probably came that way but no way to tell for sure. Are we talking the Apple leather case or a third party?

I would say that it shouldn‘t usually scratch on the leather case, all of the inside is padded and even the ridges are quite soft. The only part that‘s solid is the buttons, and you wouldn‘t normally get in contact with them when removing the phone.

Regardless of how it happened, forget about it. All of the stainless steel frames will scratch eventually.

cases should be hard to remove. what’s the point if you drop the phone and they separate

The first scratch is tough. I decided to try to remove the SIM card from my first 12 Pro in the dark and gouged the steel by the SIM tray pretty good. I'm a case person 100% of the time but just knowing it was there bothered me.

Can’t see scratches with a case on I wouldn’t worry about it!

It is a replica of the Apple leather case, but it is not the official one. I was scared because I spent almost 10 minutes trying to remove it and it seemed impossible. When I checked the phone it had a small dot on the steel frame that is only visible in some points of light. I know it's silly and safe, it came from the factory like that and I didn't realize it at the time, but it still bothered me. It's the first scratch ...

Its the first of what will likely be a few more. Its something you carry with you and use every single day many hours a day at that, so its expected to show its wear overtime. Obviously it sucks being this new but as time goes by you will care less about it and just enjoy the device itself.

Day 1 case-free!

How is it going using case free... did you notice scratches on the stainless steel? i saw that harder to scratch the Stainless Steel than the screen

Mine silver is in the silicone case and haven’t remove it yet for any cleaning.

Fit is good and padded inside so to prevent any possible heartache, this case will be the one and only till the new one.

May change another case further down the road but I figured by that time probably the enthusiasm would have died down.

For those of you with the silver, who go caseless- do you find that it is a mess quickly, or just a few minor micro scratches after a while as long as you are careful with it?

Silicone case here an zero scratches. Just in case I won’t remove it from the case that often, I can have a heart attack if I discover any minimal scratch
