Anyone else having issues getting screen protectors to not bubble on the edge of the screen on the 17 Pro?

Installed a dbrand prism 2.0 with the applicator provided but around the border of the screen there are long thin bubbles that can not be pressed out.

Have tried reinstalling a few times and recleaning the screen, even using a dust sticker against the sticky side of the screen protector itself, but the bubbles remain.

Appears the 17 Pro screens curve more on the edges. Any other brands of screen protector installed with success?

I’ve been using JETech screen protectors for years now, including one on my launch day 17 Pro, and I don’t have any problems!

have this one sitting in my amazon cart, how’s the anti reflectivity?
It’s good. Not anything amazing, but better than a normal protector. It does have the black border that covers a couple of pixels on the edges, but I don’t notice it. If that’s a deal breaker for you, then my wife has the Spigen AluminaCore on her Air and it doesn’t have borders. It’s really nice too but the glass on the ESR is clearly better.

shame about the black borders, I prefer screen protectors without that. thanks for the info!

I initially got some cheapies from ebay and had the same problem on all the ones i tried - all around the perimeter. Got my ESR ultrafits today and sits perfectly, no issues

I would contact dbrand. It could be that you got a defective screen protector.

I bought it thru best buy, and their solution was to bring it in the store to see what's going on. closest best buy to me is quite far.
should have just bought from dbrand directly

Is there anyway you can take a picture of the issue? Maybe just defective screen protector.

I have had the same issues. First I used the $40 Torras, and there was a small bubble at the edge just where the speaker is above the notch. can't get it to press down.

Tried the ESR 3-pack i had also ordered before the Torras. WAY WORSE. the entire edge almost all the way around the whole device was bubbled and coudlnt stick down. it's like the whole protector needs to be smaller?

Then did another Torras. Better, but it's back. they are sending me new ones / letting me return.

There is def an issue for screen protectors that try to go farthest to the edges with the black borders and they can't properly stick now...

I might have no choice but to just buy applecare and go fully naked phone!!

i wonder if there is some variability in how much the phone screens start to curve at the edges with the aluminum bodies now? (i know there shouldnt be, but trying to think about how some of us have this and not others with the same phones and screen protectors)

Edit to add bad photo i just took with my macbook lol but at least should show the minor bubble i'm talking about where the speaker is

Posted in the iPhone thread too, but i have this issue.

First I used the $40 Torras, and there was a small bubble at the edge just where the speaker is above the notch. can't get it to press down and stay down.

Tried the ESR 3-pack i had also ordered before the Torras. WAY WORSE. the entire edge almost all the way around the whole device was bubbled and coudlnt stick down. it's like the whole protector needs to be smaller?

Then did another Torras. Better, but it's back. they are sending me new ones / letting me return.

better photo attached here than i put in the other thread

EDIT: also FWIW for some reason my wife's phone didn't have this issue at all (i applied it for her, blue pro) but i've been having it with every protector i try. maybe it's actual phone variability with how much it curves at the edges or something, with new aluminum base adding this variability? (i know i'm reaching/making assumptions with this last part but idk!)

The bubble for me starts in same place then within 24 hours it’s round most of the phone.

I'm using Jetech brand and no bubbling/lifting at the edges.

I've been using this one from TOCOL and it's been great. Installed it on the 19th and it still looks great around the edges. It was cheap as well. I actually prefer this screen protector over the expensive Belkin one I used on my 16 PM.

Installing screen protectors on the 17 PM and 16 PM models can be a pain as the screen is so close to the edge with no room for errors.

The Belkin Ultraglass may shatter too much, but the bubbles that can't be pressed out disappear after a day, repeat occurrences, so that's good.
