I like film protectors. That full sized sticker sounds great. I still haven’t gotten a screen protector back on my phone. I have a new package of Spigen screen protectors but I am tired of not being able to get 100% of the dust out. I need to either put it on or take it to Apple and have them put on a screen protector for me.

I have a film protector on my watch and you can’t even tell it’s there.

A little bit, but not really noticeable unless viewed off axis like you said.

This is the first time I have ever used a glass screen protector on anything. I always used film and have had good luck with them.

I’m using FLOLAB and am extremely pleased with it.

Their wimpy frame didn't align the screen protector perfectly so I removed it and tried again. I got it perfect then noticed dust. Tried a few things to remove it but it was over. I'm only using screen protector kits that have that peel-off film to remove the protector as it goes on your phone.

i just wanted to give another plug for WSKEN. hands down the easiest install. sort of similar to the process used for the belkin protectors installed at apple stores. they claim no dust can get in while installing. i don’t know about that as i have been really careful and used a dust sticker carefully prior to the install. 2 applied on my 14pm. the first one installed on launch day and yesterday i noticed some scratches. so a possible negative is they might not be so scratch resistant. maybe but im pretty careful except i can’t say no to my cats, so they have walked on and been around my phone. anyways today i applied a second one and again, simple. perfect install in about a minute.

just as a side note, i did try a spigen ez install and even though they have a simple process i got dust and hair or fiber under the glass. i have also used amfilm and have gotten dust despite the simple process.

That WSKEN looks interesting. I tried the Spigen ez install as well but could not keep it completely dust free. I am not even sure how the dust got in there. I made sure that there was none on the screen and then peeled off the backing and put it over the screen very quickly. I also did it in a steamy bathroom after running the hot water for 15 minutes. I have a second set of Spigen but have been thinking of returning them and just bringing the phone to Apple and having them put one on.

yeah, i too was very careful with the spigen. didn’t have good luck though.

So that speaker grill on it doesn’t attract dust and other crud? Does it go all the way to the top edge or is there space between the edge and the speaker grill that lint can get into?

I am thinking of giving this a try before surrendering and going to Apple. So far I have tried the Spigen and this:

and neither of them worked out for me. Perhaps if I could just accept that some dust will get in there…

i would try the wsken protector. two installs and no dust at all. it covers the full screen with no openings. you can get the 3 pack for $20. i went with the 4 pack. as far as i can remember, these cover more of the screen as compared to the belkin protectors I've had apple install in the past. i think the last time i had apple do it was with the 11. so its been a few years. i have several different cases (personal problem) and there is barely a gap between the case and protector. no problems with lifting when i change cases.

I got these yesterday and installed one today. I have to say that this install is as super easy/foolproof as it gets. Unfortunately the screen protector is lifting a little bit in a couple of places at the very bottom edge of the screen. I am not sure why. I thoroughly cleaned the screen, wiped it with the cloth, and used the dust sticker.

Edit: I ended up trying three of them. The second one had bubbles I could not get out. The third one is lifting a bit around the microphone. I am going to return these as defective and just go to Apple to have them do it. This is a great idea. I think that I would have had no issues with them if they were just a bit smaller. I definitely had no dust in any of the ones I tried.

I got a Belkin screen protector put on at Apple. It took three tries. First one had a spec of dust that caused a bubble. The second one had a spec of dust along the edge that kept it from laying flat. on the third one, I could find no issues. It was a mixed experience. The machine left a little thin scratch on the bottom corner of the bezel. I chose to ignore it. I wish that the bezels on these phones weren’t shiny. I know that could happen. It’s back in the case and hopefully this lasts for as long as I keep the phone. It seems nice. Much smoother than the other ones I have tried. It was more than I wanted to pay but at least it’s done. The tools that they used to pry up the old screen protectors kind of freaked me out. I was afraid it would somehow scratch my screen.

The Belkin home kit is very easy to use does a fine job. It is very hard to mess up the install. Should you need another protector down the road, consider the home kit.

A light-touch fingernail is all that is needed to remove the old protector.

Yeah. The tool they used pried it up and then he slid it down the phone screen to further pry it up. It seemed like something that could cause scratches. If it’s scratched though, I can’t see it.

sorry if you bought on my recommendation. as far as the lifting, my guess is the screen wasn't completely clean. but that's just a guess. as far as the bubbles, you have to be patient sometimes with small bubbles. with my second install i did have some tiny bubbles present in one spot. i just pressed down right on top for like 30 seconds a couple of times. some were still visible. i just put my phone in my pocket and went on with my things. about an hour later when i needed my phone, they had disappeared. bummed that i made you waste your money.

No worries! I am always willing to take recommendations and I am going to return them as defective to Amazon. If they were just a bit smaller, it would have worked perfectly! Or if I could have just ignored the little bit of lift.

i’m just wondering, they make a big deal about waiting 20 seconds after removing the strip before pressing down on the protector. did you do that, wait 20 seconds before sliding your finger down the center to apply the protector? i wonder why they have you wait 20 seconds. could it have something to do with the glue? if you don’t wait, could that cause lifting? curious if you waited?

I have been using Belkin UltraGlass on my 14 pro max since release day (16. september). Apple Store Amsterdam Geniuses applied it with the machine. And it was perfect on the first try. Last week, I got bored because it didn't fully cover the screen and I took it off. There was a serious gap of about 1 mm on all sides.

I tried both Spigen alignmaster and ezfit models (I live in Turkey and every spigen protector can be bought here easily)
Spigen ones hold more fingerprints, are less slippery and have sharp corners. There is glare in the open air, the glass is like a mirror. You can see a grayish layer on top of the black screen. I've never experienced this with Belkin.

When I say sharp corners, I mean this. Belkin was much more curved as in the picture on the left.

Also while playing apex legends, I have to apply force to my fingers because it does not slide on the screen, the screen resists. Spigen may be better than most brands on the market, but the oleophobic coating is much better at Belkin.

so I ordered Belkin UltraGlass again, and I will have to apply myself at home this time.

I just waited for 5-10 seconds while applying glas.tr ezfit. Zero bubble and dust at first try.

The important point is this, after thoroughly cleaning the dust on the phone screen, you need to peel off the protective nylon on the tempered glass very quickly and make the application. Every second you wait creates the possibility of dust sticking to the phone glass or tempered glass.

Hi all, can anyone recommend a screen shield that goes right up to the edge of the phone ? Have the belkin from Apple and it still leaves a small gap and dust get trapped in that space … if I can find a good edge to edge , maybe it will bump up against my case and leave no room for dust 😎
