i would def suggest that everyone makes sure that express checkout is ON in the apple store online and on your iOS device

Just be mindful that it will get shipped to the address already on file so if you're having it sent to your job or a different address, that might not be a good idea.

So there is no way to pre-order the iPhone and have it picked up in store, it's just shipped to the address on the AT&T account or if I go through the Apple store app, I have the option to input pick up information and shipping information. I'm confused as to how it gets shipped.

Only if you go to preorder at an AT&T store.
Then they will call you and you can go pick it up at the store when it gets there.
But there is guarantee it will arrive on launch day. it might take longer.
The apple store does the same but you can mail it to whatever address you want I think and doesnt have to be the billing address.
You can also reserve one with apple without having to pay for it but you still have to wait in line to get it.

thankful for this thread i caught last week, by chance. i downloaded the apple store app as a backup.

after trying about 4-5 minutes on the website after midnight, i tried the app and got through immediately and quickly made my pre-order.
