I can afford it and I'm a little nuts when it comes to cases for my phone. When I say temporarily I mean at least 6 months maybe a year because I think that may be how long it will take for Element to come out with a chrome plated Sector 5.
That sounds expensive. How much would the chromeplated cost?
And may I ask why you are nuts.

If you go to the Element site the chrome models for the 4/4s is about $30 more then the anodized base model (Pro style case). So $160.00 now will be about $190.00 for chrome.

My friends think I'm to much into gadgets and I'm suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. An example is I went through 3 Iphone 5s because of a nick or two. I also bought a white one which wouldn't have been my choice because I was afraid of scuffs. So yes, the word "nuts" fits.

Wow. I have like 2 small dents that barely show but I dont wanna swap cause I know it will take forever. I'm pretty much the same but I dont wanna loose the phone for 3 weeks.

Damn.

Btw, 200 dollars for a case. Yes, thats nuts.
Mine does the job and it was under 1 dollar.
Lol.

But im thinking on getting the Sector 5.

----------

Btw, the Sector case must **** really hard with the antenna.

I was able to exchange at the Apple store. It took a half hour.

Sorry no $1.00 case on my $800.00 phone; not 10 times that much.

No the Sector case doesn't **** really hard with the antenna.

It may even improve reception. I picked up 1-2 bars of 4G at a difficult reception area in a coffee shop.

But I heard if u have your fingers over the antenna in the ip4 u had reception problems.

How would it increase it lol ?? :D By wearing a cover. That sounds weird.

If you do your research you will find that the polymer separations effectively preserve the antenna's ability to receive a signal. the Iphone 4's antenna is quite different than the Iphone 5's. I believe the Ip5 has it's antenna's behind the back glass panels that the metal bumper doesn't cover. If the case is segmented with the polymer parts and doesn't touch the metal parts it works. If you have a metal or real carbon fiber back the glass areas are covered and the signal is impacted adversely. When Element and other manufacturers of Iphone 4 cases added polymer parts or made them hybrid they solved reception problems.

Cool. Very interesting fact. Thanks.

Wait what? If your one dollar case is doing the job for you and you think it's crazy to be paying $200 for a case, why are you considering getting the sector?

Short answer. Money isnt that big of a problem.

But I would never go 200 dollars for a case.
Ill take the one for 150 dollars. Thats 1000 SEK. It's Okay I guess but its still a lot of money.

On the verge of disgusting. But yes, you're right.

Yet no video review by anyone. Don't get it why anyone will complain about the box??? Seriously??? How many people walk around with their iPhone boxes? I understand everyone has a right to their opinion but talking about the box is just too much.

So I grew a little concerned from some of the reviews I have seen and tried to cancel my order today. Apparently it is in final processing and I cannot cancel it, even though its not supposed to ship until November 1st. Interesting.

why not wait until you get it? Yes the appeal is subjective. But as a bonafied casewhore, I am in deep love with this case

Sent an email to support and they cancelled my order pretty quickly. I will probably get a thin case for now and wait a couple months to see if Element makes some adjustments base on reviews or issues a new case. Still think they are the best cases out there, but I want to make sure I get a quality one if I'm paying that much.

Case itself seems nice. Very light, fits great. I hate how the foam inside kind of mushes out of the edge of the case when the phone is in there, looks a little sloppy. Cut outs are good, the mute switch takes a bit of effort to get to, but I kind of like that. The suede back seems like it was cut a little big, doesn't quite fit well inside the edges of the case. I may take the case off, install the back, and then install the case on the phone, I think that will help. The nylon case that was included doesn't fit the phone... I think they sent me the 4S version, it's too small. And I've noticed no loss in signal.

Overall I'm happy. I'll be contacting them about the too small case, and I'll have to play with the foam on the inside of the case to see if I can make them not stick out of the edges. Other than that, I love it. It looks incredible, I anticipate lots of people asking me about this case.

Oh, and I'm sad the wrench is no longer made of aluminum but instead plastic :(

I ended up taking the Ultrasuede back off and put on a wood back that I purchased. I got the wood back for $14 for a front and back skin. I didn't put the front one on though. But it's made of real wood, and looks like it will protect the back very well. And I actually like the look of the wood with the industrial look of the metal.

Now I just need to get a Bodyguardz Pure

EDIT: Stuck the wood front on as well. Not sure how I feel about this though. But it will give me good lay on table protector until my glass screen protector comes.

that's sweet! i kinda like the metal/wood combo!

I do with they would have made the sides solid after using it a bit. I think solid sides with button inserts would have made the case more sturdy and would have made it less prone to collecting lint and other stuff from my pockets. Plus I think it would have felt much nicer.

Also, does your phone with the case on fit inside the transit case? Is it not supposed to fit in there? Mine won't get in there.

And for those who bought, are waiting, or are buying this case; I would recommend picking up some lucky labs spectra stickers for the sides. The included stickers are bad. Lucky labs ones are inexpensive, way easier to install and look better. They're $9.99 but include 3 sets of skins and can choose any colors. I picked all transparent.

Never tried till you mentioned it and it doesn't fit. Will have to get with them as we'll. Thanks for pointing that out.

That looks really good with the industrial/wood mix. Can you let us know if the real wood back affects reception like the real CF back does? Also, can you let us know where you got the wood pieces from? thank you!!

Doesn't seem to affect the signal at all. I had full service with it off and still have full with it on. And I picked them up at carved.com
