Sector 5 from Element Case order thread.

Received my Element Case Sector 5 yesterday, and I can now say that without a shadow of a doubt...this is the most phenomenal case I have EVER owned. Just like many others on this forum, I am a self-proclaimed case whore, and the quality, craftsmanship and overall fit & finish of this case is amazing. Looks like Korican100 and I not only have similar case obsession issues, but we have similar taste as well... ;) Although, who knows how long I will keep this color scheme for. :p

Thank you Element Case for going above and beyond with this one. I loved the Vapor Comp and Vapor Pro, but this case takes the cake for me. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see what you guys have up for your sleeves for the "modular" nature of this case. :D

I ended up taking a REALLY sharp razor and trimming the ultrasuede that is inside the case. Now it doesn't stick up outside of the side of the case, looks much much better. You just have to trim off the smallest bit of foam, and it won't affect how it protects your phone, those parts don't touch the phone.

I got an email back from them concerning the carbon backplate. Basically they game me a credit of $15 for the back and said they are working on another one that will be out in a few weeks. Also gave me a code to purchase the updated plate for the same $15 as it will be more when it's released. Discounted price is for those who got the FE edition. Have to say that their CS to me is top notch.

got the same email. sweet stuff from element case as usual

only thing is they want me to return the carbon backplate i already have. I threw that thing away!
 
I also got a refund for $10 for the transit case. They are releasing a new version of that as well.

Good to hear and to follow up on my part as well - it seems that I have been approved for a full refund for my sector 5 (minus shipping of course), and it took them only one day after receiving the return. This should give some confidence for anyone who may be waiting and want to try it out first. Just make sure you keep everything neat!

I've emailed them and tried to call support about this issue. I couldn't even leave a message on their voice mail. I tried several times to get customer support to help me get another set of Rash-Guards with no success. I am not confident about getting a response on either issue but I will try to be patient.

I am an early purchaser of the FE edition and have purchased two very costly Iphone 4 cases. I've always been a staunch defender of Element Case on this forum. I expect resolution of the carbon fiber back, the new zipper case and replacement Rash-Guards issues.

I just got another shipping notice from Element. No idea what they're sending me, maybe it's a replacement back cover because I told them the ultrasuede was cut too large.
 
I just sent them an email directly from my account. Not sure if that is how you have been trying to reach them. If not maybe give that a try. They responded to my email about a day later. Hope that helps.

It's going to be a FedEx prepaid label to send back the carbon fiber backing. They pay for return shipping.
 
Open would fit lighting to 30 pin adapter??

Can someone with the case already confirm if the lighting plug opening is big enough to fit the lighting to 30 pin adapter? I have a Sector 5 on order (shipping by november 15) and wonder if it will fit or not.

I don't have it, but I can tell you the adapter will not fit it. See images here: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/16138793/

The wired adapter will work though. One might call it an extension cable.
 
Thanks for sharing the pictures! You are right! I will have then to sell the adapter and buy the cable instead. The thing I have in my JVC car radio the 30 pin adapter that used to allowed me to connect my 4S and need the adapter for the I5. Do anyone know if the cable is widely available? I only saw on China seller offering it for $62.60 (NO WAY !!!)

They don't ship to my location (Puerto Rico), just found a few on Ebay at $52 or more (Originals), and also others as low as $20 but they are not video compliant.

I just test the adapter in my car and you are absolutely right, no video pass through it. I thought the Apple branded adapter would pass video. I will then buy the non Apple cable for $15 so can charge and hear music from the I5, video capability is not a big issue right now as I didn't use it often.

Couple days in, still love this case. I had ordered the Draco 5 case as well, but ended up cancelling it. There is signal loss with that case, and I'm very happy with the S5 so I'll be keeping it. I also found that the suede pouch I had for my Galaxy Nexus fits the iPhone 5 with the Sector 5 on it. So when I want a bit more protection, I've been sticking it in the suede pouch. I ordered the pouch from sfbags.com if anyone is interested in getting something that like.
 
WTF!?! I just got an invite email for the Nov. 15th batch...They now have 3 colors to choose from...but here is the kicker...ITS $139 now!! I'm pissed off, and I'm calling to complain. First off, the carbon fiber backplate, secondly, the transit case barely fits after you put the case on your phone, and now the $20 price difference?!?! This is BS!
