Wow, you called me a cultist and avoided addressing a $36 trillion debt in one comment. Impressive mental gymnastics- truly Olympic level.
I think it's necessary to "fix" that ridiculous $36 trillion debt. But I don't agree at all with the current US policy to achieve this.…it will only bring more problems (economically and socially), and it will not solve anything at all!
USA has lived beyond their means for years/decades. So it's indeed time to repair that. Therefore the USA has to look in the mirror…and not solely pointing their finger to the rest of the world. Ok, so Trump (through Musk), is cutting on expenditures in government and institutions. But it's very selective, not effective financially (considering the huge amount of debt), and does create a lot of anger and anxiety in American society. Trump can go on and on (while challenging , condemning and illegally dissolve even the legal system in the US), but….it still will only cause more resistance and anger. Disrupting US society, where even families are split in pro and contra Trump. Could go right up to mayhem in society…exactly what Russia and Chine would love to see.
You are probably prepared to take this risk….thanks to the all mighty Trump and his policies.
In our global economy it sure doesn't help to alienate the rest of the world, and even old partners. This will backfire. There's a lot of world outside the USA and they will find each other to cooperate and do business. USA is not a trustworthy partner anymore.
With blabla, self-righteous, power-hungry and very stupid Trump, the USA becomes the clown and the dumbest child in the classroom.
