Horrible show in my opinion. Should have been a movie. The acting sucks. There is no way it is believable that everyone is blind and able to differentiate the enemy from the ally. Check it out for yourself and let me know your thoughts.
I was surprised by The Morning Show, I thought it was going to flop the most, but it is actually quite good. “See” was the most interesting one to me and wow, what a piece or c%*p, very disappointing. I have yet to watch For All Mankind, I liked the trailer tho.
A show so wonderfully awful you'll also wish you couldn't see.
I watched the first two episodes Sun night right after the NFL game.
I thought both episodes were horrible !
I give it a D- !
Based-upon the Hype, I expect much better.
BTW, up until the last season of Game of Thrones, I thought that was the best thing ever !
Yeah same here. I appreciate the warnings. I thought this being Apple, all the shows would be okay to watch with pre teens. I suppose teens and preteens are aware of all such things at this point and it’s not like I need to shelter them like I used to, but we don’t need to sit down as a family to that and be mortified looking around at each other as someone dives for the remote.Yikes. All I needed to hear. No thanks.
Exactly. I haven't "seen" See yet but everything in a film or TV show is intentional, give it time and it will make sense on why this was put in there. Or don't. That's your choice but I can guarantee you, it was intentional.Did you ever consider that that visceral discomfort that you felt towards the scene was what the director was going for? I took the scene as an illustration of how ignorant the species became, confusing sexual euphoria with a spiritual experience and a way to communicate with their god. It didn't seem to me to be something thrown in to offend.
I definitely did like "The Morning Show" the most and "For All Mankind" to an extent, but "See" was just meh.
"See" director Francis Lawrence, who also directed the "Hunger Games" movies, recently sat down for an interview with Business Insider where he shared some details on the filming of "See" and the research that went into the show.
According to Lawrence, rumors that "See" cost $240 million for two seasons were incorrect. "See" is "an expensive show," said Lawrence, but that budget "got blown out of proportion." It's nowhere near the scale of other big shows like "Game of Thrones."

When filming "See," Lawrence had a "think tank" with blind consultants, an evolutionary biologist, and a survivalist to brainstorm ideas. "See," for those unfamiliar with the show, is set in a post-apocalyptic timeline where most of the world was wiped out by a virus, and those who were left were rendered blind. The actors in the show are made to look blind using special effects rather than contacts, as Lawrence said that it was impractical to use contacts for so many people due to the risk of cornea issues and the cost of hiring optometrists.
While much of the cast of "See" can see, some of the main tribe are low vision or blind. "See" aimed to find low vision or blind actors, and hopes to improve upon that in the second season.Much of the show was filmed out in the wilderness and "pretty far from any cities," which made it difficult. The battle in episode one, for example, took four days to film because it involved a lot of people and a lot of stunts.
"See" has a rather surprising introductory scene introducing Queen Kane, who is the queen of the region, which Lawrence also commented on. When he saw that part of the script, he said, he "loved it."Lawrence's full interview, which goes into even more detail on filming, can be read over on Business Insider. "See," which stars Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard, is available on Apple TV+ now.

For All Mankind is off to a great start. I was hooked in the first episode and binge watched all 3 last weekend, and I'm looking forward to the next episode. I've only watched the first episode of See and it didn't really hook me, but I'm sure I'll continue on with it soon enough.I've really enjoyed the first few episodes, and looking forward to the next one on Friday. There's a free trial - if you haven't watched it for yourself then give it a try, it'll literally only cost you time.
For All Mankind looks great too, that's next on my list. I'll be continuing with the £4.99 monthly payment, from what I've seen so far it's worth it.
For me it is the opposite, I just started to watch two and they are incredibleDoes that make it gooder? Not one of the “shows” AppleTV+ are appealing to me.
Happy to see that I wasn't the only one to see no purpose to that scene...except to offend. I hate it when scenes like this are jammed into a story just so it can be seen as 'edgy.'
I turned the show off in the first 20 minutes.
[…] Not even close to GOT. […]
Why would I switch to a service full of cartoons and men wearing tights? Apple TV Plus already has more interesting content for adults than Disney will ever have.Another flop just like Apple News+. In 12 months everyone will be subscribed to Disney+, the free Apple TV subscription the only thing keeping the viewing numbers half decent.
Thanks for the in-depth review after not watching any of the shows besides a few previews.
Well, so is (was?) Netflix and Amazon and Google. They're not mutually exclusive. Microsoft and Sony weren't gaming companies, until they were. I do think Apple has a way to go, there is a large learning curve to becoming a powerhouse content producer. They're going to mistakes and have some mis-fires. Probably they have a bit too much hubris and indulgence at the moment as well. But it doesn't mean they won't get there, they certainly have resources to spare.I can’t even believe Apple is getting into content. They’re a tech company. And they would do much better to focus on that. Steve always talked about how they had such a focused, small number of high quality products. Fix your bugs Apple
From the people who became blind through the virus. They weren't born blind. And they then passed down what had happened to their kids and so on. In time it became story. And then myth. How does an entire species of people born blind even know or understand the concept of seeing? That part really bugs me about this show
Good. Don't watch it then.Does that make it gooder? Not one of the “shows” AppleTV+ are appealing to me.
I wonder which one of those suggested that they include a mystic who touches herself while reciting a bastardized version of the Lord's Prayer that has no relevance to the story whatsoever.
