I use modular 95% of the time. Utility the rest. The faces are definitely lacking.
 
I don't think it will be too difficult for Apple to implement an always on screen. They are apparently using older 28-nanometer process for the current watches and can switch to 20- or even their newest 14-nanometer process for the next watch processer. They can also still use wrist detection by keeping the screen at 50% brightness and go to 100% brightness on wrist raise. Anyways I still think the next watch has an always on screen. Only time will tell.
What exactly is the point of having the screen always on? When I am not using my watch the screen is off. When I want to use my watch, I raise my wrist and the screen turns on.

True but it does look a bit weird to have a black slab of glass strapped to your wrist when the screen is off. I would rather have an option to have it always look like a watch even when I am not looking at it. It can be a user option.
